  1. Disappointed about today, but in general not too bad a window, as we have definitely improved since end of last season. With Gana, Bolaisie, Stekelenberg and Williams all improvements on what we had, Valencia may also be decent and can't be worse than Kone or Niasse. And let's not forget our new manager and dof have only just arrived.

Also think we have potentially dodged a bullet with Sissoko with the following comments from Paul Merson summing up the mercenary he is:

"It's unreal he can't even answer Ronald Koeman's call. What's the game coming to? This man is a legend for what he's done in football and he can't even pick the phone up and say 'I don't really want to sign for you, sorry!'"

  2. Deal is done just as many have said he's back from hols next week and that's when he will be revealed.

I like many are cynical and have had a few pangs of worry...but we are already far removed from Kenwright and the way he fanfares everything..!!! What I do like is the way we are now going about our business under Moshiri i.e. very little info leaked and only announce when it is done.

  3. Nay for me.

if this was an isolated season I would give him the benefit of the doubt, unfortunately for him and us its the second successive season!

I just cant believe what I am seeing at present as this is without doubt the best group of players we have had since the 80's and that alone make me want this fella gone and pronto.

Who to bring in? A week ago I was struggling but since the investment I believe our stock will have risen making us an extremley attractive proposition for a lot of managers.

My choice: De Boer or even Pellegrini the options are out there.

  4.

For me this will be an interim ownership, maybe get a stadium, better commercial deals and sell at a profit. I don't think we will see us going after £50m players, probably similar budget to what we see now maybe a little more.

For me that was always going to be the way unless someone with serious money wanted to do the full project.

I think if they come in and get us a stadium, shake up the rotten corridor of power headed by sunbed Bob then that will do me. We may actually see the club make smart commercial decisions and join the post 1990's football business.

    It needs to happen.

Whatever is going on with Bill and his health situation - I truly wish him all the best and hope to see him as a regular fixture at the games again.

Totally agree these are my thoughts too.

  5. Ultimately the lure of first team football and the chance to play for the club he supports won out.

He may go on to be a very good player but there is always a bit of extra pressure when you play for the club you support, so he could go either way.

Ultimately I am not too disappointed as Seamus was always going to get his place back when fit and he may have thought he would be in the same situation as Garbutt.

I would much rather us use the cash to go towards a forward or playmaker.

  6. Difficult one this as we might no be able to attract a real top class proven manager, saying that the premier league is seen as the place to be by many.

With that in mind possibly De Boer ?

On the home front Eddie Howe looks to be doing a great job at Bournemouth and plays in the right style or even someone like Karanka from Boro also Hasselbaink who seems to be well thought of although he is one for the future and has only just gone to QPR.

Other than that it's fantasy land for the likes of Simeone

  7. It's a crime that the best squad we have had in 20yrs is stagnating like this.

We fanny around with the ball at the back far too often negating any movement that we may get from our forwards!

This is down to Martinez full stop, we had a great first season from him and a poor one last, so I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt this time around.

So far in fits and starts we have played some brilliant football but this has all been undone by this tendency to dwell on the ball and put ourselves under unnecessary pressure, and if we could keep clean sheets we would be a least 10 points better off.

But I have come to realise that Martinez like Moyes before him has a stubborn streak which will not see him change certain personnel or compromise on his playing style.

Most if not all the teams that we have struggled against this season especially at Goodison have played in an aggressive, attacking and direct manner surely this cannot be lost on Martinez.

Today most of Leicester's attacks were started from the keeper often bypassing the midfield and using the pace and skill of Vardy and Mahrez, by contrast we piss around with the ball at the back allowing the opposition to set themselves up ready for us!.

I am not advocating a new direct long ball approach but to mix it up a bit surely wouldn't hurt, if we don't then we will see a lot more results like today.

  8. It just always amazes me when people dismiss a rumours as "no chance" because they think players wouldn't want to come and play for us

If we were talking Messi or Ronaldo then fair enough

Totally agree and I think if we are interested in him then there is a good chance we will get him, and we are are better option than Galatasaray with all the troubles going on in Turkey!

He would bring a fair amount of assists and a few goals but above all a winning mentality...... Cmon Roberto sign him up.

  9. Poor yet again today against relegation threatened opposition!!

Why play 4 central midfielders in a five???

Lack of natural width cost us as well as poor finishing.

We need a real overhaul of this team if we are to avoid another season like this and that may include the manager, as the lack of imagination and purpose is severely lacking in all departments.
