If you go back to when he first came here, he was tasked with getting rid of all the players that were on big wages, and cutting the wage bill, that was is main task, we still have the biggest earners that don’t play on the books and the wage bill has spiralled, so based on that a failure.

Your right he isn’t a master of any of those traits you mentioned, and he wouldn’t be on my team sheet as a starter on regular basis, but normally is all round game gets him through when required, but against Norwich I think that could go down as one of the worst performances I’ve seen of any player in an Everton shirt, which for me was not representative of a majority of his games, which makes me think he suffered from the weather conditions, because if that was representative of all his games for us then sack Carlo today, because no manager deserves to be in a job if they pick a player who plays like that every game.

Are you not prepared to consider that a lot of what you said could have been caused by the heat getting to him, I’m going to assume that you never felt that way as much after the Liverpool game only because you never said so at the time. The reason I say this is because some people who are fit can’t deal with sun and high temperatures that’s just a fact. I had Carpenters between the ages of 40-60 working on roofs Wednesday who all come to work Thursday, I had 2 younger and they look fitter cry off Thursday suffering from heat exhaustion. They make for some very poor figures on the playing side, obviously not all his fault, the wage bill going out control because we can’t off load shite on big wages, but he had to buy or see us relegated. All we can do is be magnanimous and say well done, through gritted teeth of course, and hope that all the players and coaches feel the same disappointment as the fans, at the gulf between the teams and try harder next season to close the gap, and we will support their efforts for doing so.

Possibly mate sounds plausible, I hope he can get over the disappointment, it would be great to see him there for the first game, after all it’s still his vision and design.

We don’t know if the club did or didn’t put a case forward for him to be involved with the main contractor, from what I gather he did tender to do the works but was unsuccessful. Like you and many others I would like to think he was given every opportunity to be awarded the contract, but he just couldn’t get within his competitors price, I’m sure he was preferred contractor, but in business it’s the bottom line figure that wins not sentiment. I’ve experienced many disappointments like this, and you soon realise not to take it personally, because you just beat yourself up, my philosophy is water off a ducks back, and onto the next project.
