  1. Think that the goalkeeping sitaution is the healthiest that it has been for a long while, what ive seen of Turner has been good and Ruddy has done well out on loan by all accounts, I just thank our lucky stars that Dickie is not likely to play many more games for us, talk about heart in the mouth time!! Saying that i assume when we play Manure again then Dickie will be in, say goodbye to your fingernails!! Gordon is a good keeper but think we need to be sensible and priortise the areas in which we need to strengthen as BK is no Roman Abramovich!!! and IMO GK is not one of those areas.
  2. Has anyone seen much of the lad play obviously living so far no chance of watchin the ressies, if so what sort of player is he, i believe he is left wing? do we have a new Sheedy on our hands?!!
  3. Thought we were just looking at a possibility of this one have you heard more on the devleopment of this Jackelz any links i could have a look at? Personally think would be good move but thats a different thread!!
  4. Everyones forgetting Svens available!!!!
  5. Everton are currently sitting pretty in the Premiership in 7th place. How do you see the rest of your season going? Unless we manage to bring some players in right at the death of the window then can see us falling away into midtable mediocrity, hope that I am proven wrong and the players that come in do a good job for us, without AJ gonna be very tough if we try and play 4-5-1 as Biffa's heart seems to have left the club already, as i hope he does in the summer. Hope that they bring in Fernandes and havent shown the hand too early not sure why we do that surely best to wait till everything is wrapped up before annoouncing it?! enough ranting in answer to the question 10th. Who been your most important player(s) this season? Why the sudden turn around from last season - when you were struggling? Being from the Midlands and with lots of Wolves mates I went to the odd game of theirs last season and when i heard we had signed lescott in the summer i was over the moon and was sure he could make the step up and fortunately he has not disappointed, IMO he is unfortunate there are so many good English CB's at the moment but he must be banging on the door with Ledley and JT struggling with fitness and Rio IMO not the player he was Liverpool are currently moving ahead with their stadium plans as are Everton. What are your views on the proposed move to Kirkby? Do it Goodison is iconic but she needs replacing now.b] Another season gone and no sign of silverwear for the Goodison faithful? Why do Everton seem to struggle in the cups and how important would it be to the fans to have a good cup run? Not really sure we are geared for the one off occasions more of a side geared to grind out results and i think that is more suited to league football than in the cup The 3 - 0 loss at Goodison was a bitter pill for many Liverpool fans to swallow. What are your memories of that day? Unbelievable the great thing was we were outplayed for large periods and still beat the shite 3-0! Liverpool are on the verge on £450m takeover with the DIC Investment Group? What are your views on the take over? Will it make Liverpool stronger? Would you like Everton to be subject of a takeover? Good news for u lot but Rafa has up down record in the market money doesnt guarantee success straight away took chelsea a few seasons under Roman. We aint got a chance in hell while BK is there. Your view on the Liverpool squad this year? On paper seem to have a good strength in depth but still a long way from being able to mount a title challenge.. Do you think the rivalry between Liverpool and Everton is too fierce now? Matchdays are quite dangerous now in the city centre. No Your best and worse derby memory? Got to be the Carsley derby for me capped a great season. 3-1 last season with Pips OG And finally how do you see this derby going? Will Liverpool be out for revenge? Will Everton shock Anfield? Might seem insane but i have a feeling we will roll you 2-0 will score early through Arteta and then Lescott will get his goal, ill just register myself for the asylum but thats my feeling!! Thanks RD a good post and hope my feelings come tru!!
  6. Would have been a goodbet had he not already had a touchline ban to carry over from last season was just on soccer am that he will watch the game from the stands!
  7. Think on a free if the wages were not too much then would be a good signing for a season or two, if only to replace weir or stubbs, although they have both been good servants to the club think Sol would be a better bet and would be an asset to have to bring on the youngsters, think people like Hughes would benefit greatly from playing/training/speaking to this man so has to be worth a go for a season, although would love to see Huth and Yobo be top pair and if Sol came think it would mean that Yobo would have left.
  8. Think this would be an excellent signing and would show to the players that are uncertain of a future that the club is ambitous and looking to move in the right direction, for me Huth is one of if not the best CB under 21 in the prem and would be delighted to see him arrive, if he does I think Jobo and Cahill will stay as it will show we are moving in the right direction.
  9. I think he was happy with the way that Dowie managed the players just thought he was poor in the market, like some peoples view of Moye's. although he thought that was lost in the second leg against Watford as they were 3-0 down and hardly attacked, on the whole think Palace fans were happy with Dowie as a manager just not a negotiator/inspirationalist
  10. I agree, granted he didn't set the world on fire but showed glimmers of what he could do would be silly not to give him another season, let's face it £1.5m isn't gonna get you the same quality in return, would be stupid.
  11. If I am not mistaken the ratings for FIFA use matches won, with no regard for opposition and the fact tht some teams play a lot more than others and are consequently imo skewed. For example this is a list of recent US results 5/26 US Men 2 Venezuela 0 at Cleveland, OH, 5/23 US Men 0 Morocco 1 at Nashville, TN, 4/11 US Men 1 Jamaica 1 at Cary, NC, 3/22 US Men 1 Germany 4 at Dortmund, Germany, They are also playing Latvia today, I could not imagine England or others playing 5 matches in the space of two months, (excluding major competition) The results were not the point it was the volume of games but also the results don't look too impressive, although I don't know the side that they fielded.
  12. sorry guys new to this how do u post a link? all i managed to do was underline the address!
  13. From the English version of the Turkish Press, I know its down the same lines just thought id shove it on. http://english.sabah.com.tr/5ED2E9791CFA47319F3B5852C109D801.html
  14. My Uncle is a season ticket holder at Palace and he believes (quite rightly as he is a cock) that Souness would be a totally wrong appointment from Jordan (TANGO MAN) and that they should take a chance on a manager from teh lower divisions such as Martin Allen (Brentford). His reason was that he found Dowie predictable in the transfer market and lacking inspiration and Souness (as we well know) was very similar and just waited to see who other clubs bid for and then copied, also the players hate him. Wheras Allen had the foresight to bring DJ Campbell from non-league and ended up making Brentford a mint within a year when they sold him to Birmingham. He wants someone proactive not reactive in the market seems fair.
  15. Looking at the group stages I would not be suprised if there was an outside chance of a dark horse for top scorer, Pauleta from Portugal good player, Portugals main man and they have Iran and Angola in their group! Gotta be worth a pound?? Saying that don't think anyone would be suprised if it was Henry, Adriano etc. Just a thought with crap teams in the group may have a chance.
  16. Hi Guys, Have been reading the forum for a while now and it is certainly the best toffee site that is around, well done for that. Thought it was time to post and join the discussions that you have on here. As I don't remember the glory days of the early 80's and previous to that I am feeling very optimistic about the future of the club and the players that we are developing and starting to produce/bring to the club. Although I agree that certain transfers Davie has brought in have been poor to say the least (Kroldrup etc.) I think that at times we forget that this is the same man that seems after being allowed to talk to players is very good at convincing them that Goodison is the place to be. If you look in the Premiership at the players that have been brought in in my personal opinion two of the stars of the low value transfers would have to be Arteta and Cahill, I believe this is to the credit of Moyes' and although granted there have been failures I think we must not overlook the good deals that he has made as well. Also what is nice at the moment about Everton is that we can start paying prices for players that really we would not have been able to afford in recent years, as mentioned this was to our detriment in the Per case but at least we are now able to look to strenghten the team. I really hope that Johnson does join is as likely as I feel for the first time in my lifetime this will give us a front two partnership, which I feel will ease the load on each of the strikers and hopefully enable them to excel, the fact that they are close friends may also mean that they will form an understanding quicker than perhaps would normally be the case. Looking throughout the squad, we really do have competition for a lot of the places in the team and an encouraging situation on the youth front Vidarsson, Anichebe, Vaughan, Hughes and that Kissock in a few years, the only thing we desperately lack imo (if Johnson comes) would be a CB and a left sided midfielder as Killa does not cut the mustard. Finally I hope this optimism turns into a club challenging for honours in the not too distant future as our fans are by far the best that I have experienced, I went to a few Villa and Blues games in recent seasons and none of them get close to the atmosphere in the Gladys although last season this wasn't quite as it was in previous years mainly due to the fact that the majority of times I visited were at the start of the season when we were struggling. Anyway guys sorry for the long post. Hope you are not too all bored.
