  1. Who said he has to play on the wing, why not in the centre?

because he isnt a center midfielder only you think so, he's slow weak and his best attribute is shown on the wing wheres the sense in that.

on loan for free from are rivals isnt going to happen and you would use valuble wages in getting him in rather than a proper midfielder we need to come in

  2. Nev is captain. Anybody else in our team are mere pretenders to the throne. Being a captain isn't offered to appease somebody. It's a man management position, and players need to be capable of doing just that, not to mention being able to communicate with the referee too. With Nev out, I don't see another Nev.

so your saying you would play a 35 year old every game we can just because he's captain, johnny or jags should get it, im fed up of players playing because of captancy we have had it for years we dont have another nev but talkers dont win you a match

  3. He was 'Boro's best player, and he helped fill in the Gareth Barry void at Villa. Last season Suarez had a conversion rate of 14% and Gerrard blasts most half chances into row Z, hardly going to shine at a club with them 2 as the main outlets.

there is no argument. downing isnt good enough for the worst liverpool team in years not only that he isnt better than our current wingers. wouldnt even want him on loan whats the point

  4. I think we did seriously miss Phil yesterday. As much as I like Hitzlsperger for all of his brains and attacking qualities, he has always lacked a certain toughness. Phil's got the toughness and plays a no-nonsense game. He just isn't very pretty with it. But Neville can really take charge of a game, as a captain, which Hitzlsperger never reeeaaally did for Stuttgart.

I feel like Neville just looks like a passenger, more so than he actually is, sometimes.

no he cant run he cant pass his positioning for an expeirenced player is far past a joke and he;s on 50k a week id release him tomorrow if i could, im still waiting for an explanation for what he adds to our team other than having a player/manager on the pitch shouting orders whislt he stands in the middle of the pitch.

  5. I agree with you tbh... apart from that last but as I dont see the relevance and for someone who cant stand the BU you bring them up a lot!

Any way, we played pretty well for most parts of the game and I have no idea how we didnt win. We defended well as a unit and Hitzelsperger and Osman bossed the midfield in the first half. We really do need to put away our chances but Jelly should have scored

dominating the first half isnt good enough england call up or not ossie goes missing and hitzelsperger isnt good enough another midfielder who can hardly run on old legs can imagine a creative midfield of neville and thomas in the middle in time the only thing which has stopped that is nevilles injury, wouldnt ever wish injury on anyone but phil surely you should give someone else a chance your no giggs or scholes your brother was twice the player and called it a day years ago how long are you planning on going on.

we seem to be making to many mistakes coleman has played well the last 2 games but needs to stop diving in at the wrong time, moyes has said the obvious at half time and its come back to haunt us "keep going and the result will come" well it backfired injurys or not reading should be getting beaten.

  6. Cheryl Cole? Why not aim slightly higher? Like Everton this year. You should not settle for mid table.

Nope, everton cant win the league, this season. But I really do believe that we will be playing european football next season. Deffo Europa league and maybe even CL.

As Hafnia posted, I think its between Everton, Arsenal and Spurs for 4th-6th place.

Oh and about the positive feeling on this board Mirallas. Thats not something thats been a thing of the past but the last time Everton had a great start to the season, they finished 4th. We can all feel it. Its in the air. Somehow the summer changed things. We did not lose any important players and we actually picked up a couple of exciting ones. (Pienaar, Mirallas and Naismith)

Not a lot of talk about banks demanding money from the club and it seems as if there might be some air in the budget for once.

If we lose Felli in jan, I expect us to get top dollar for him. Might even be a good thing although id be really, really depressed to see him go. But we need motivated players, week in and week out to challenge for fourth place. Replace Felli with half the money. Get Ofoe in aswell

go on im waiting to hear how, and where you can get a midfielder who could probably get in every team in europe who would be willing to join us on low wages aswell.

  7. I'm a bit concerned at our defence.

Once again, we were easily undone, and too many through balls were catching us out. Had Sunderland been better finishers we could have been in trouble. I am more happy having the pace of Distin. It wouldn't do us any harm to show Jags the bench occasionally either just to keep him on his toes. Coleman has not been covered properly when he's been up field.

he's the quickest defender we have and probably the most consistant, jags had a few top games earlier in the season and the last 3 or 4 he's looked poor

  8. Even though he was a good player for us in his day he's past his best now, get barkley back and have him as backup I reckon he would be getting games at other teams in the premiership never mind the championship he's proved in the last couple of games he offers much more than an old phil neville with his tired legs passing sidewards barkley looks to play the ball forward, gibson has done that job quite well but if we want top 4 we need better players coming in than Cahill for 2 months or whatever it is. I understand that moyes will gradually bring the youth into the team and it has worked in the past but he should be on the bench for us imo

  9. I think the jury is still out on Mirallas.

He has been played in several positions in his short time here, and with it we've seen different results. I'd be inclined to think once we get Gibson back he might be settled into a more regular role. If we can get another midfield player too we should start seeing better results.

mirallas is going to be a top player he's hardly even got into are team yet he looks one of our best players give him a few games. i remember a few on here saying fellaini wasnt up to it waste of 15 million look at us now we wouldnt want rid for 30 million, were lucky to have got mirallas he could have went to a better team if it wasnt for fellaini

  10. dont agree with the naismith comments apart from that goal jelevic would have scored i think he looks like a headless chicken no skill and not the greatest passer of the ball either, pienaar is in another league to him

  11. Came on to rant but you boys have pretty much covered it. My main points are:

    1. Suarez dirty player should have been booked for both challenges. Should have been off.

    2. Neville went down easily with contact if that's suarez does he get booked. No would be my guess.

    3. Shite 3rd goal foul on jags and not a free kick.

    4. Tackle on baines is a pen he knocks the ball past and then gets fouled in the box.

    5. Oviedo should be played as cover for piernar.

    6. We need centre mids but I think Neville is playing well and doesn't lose the ball as much

but he doesnt offer anything near whats needed to be a holding midfielder these 10 yard sideward passes are slow and always gives the team a chance to counter barkley could have done exactly what phil done in that game yet people still seem to be happy enough to play a passenger, rightback i can deal with but we will never beat the top teams playing experienced players all the time just because they have been there and done it, gerrard other than the assist was a ghost in that game they sat off us for most of the second half yet we didnt attack enough to win the game. agree with everything else.

  12. Nowt wrong with the goal, why did the linesman flag? Push on someone perhaps?

wasnt the foul at the end for coates on jagielka could be wrong but thats what it looked like to me. we wasnt great but they were bad second half should have punished them.

  13. Seems to me from your comments about Neville and your proposed team for an EPL away game, that you don't know much about footy unsure.png

stop licking his arse like everyone else has for years, technically the worst player in the squad yet he starts centermidfield for us nearlly every game if you knew anything about football you would no he's a backup fullback at best and even then he weakens the team.

that formation for an away game is attacking but defending away from home now gets you nothing in this league.

  14. As long as we dont play neville in midfield we will have a good chance of winning its really like playing with ten men now 10 yard sideward passes and backing off players in the middle inviting pressure all the time its going to cost us goals his positioning is past a joke aswell cant see what anyone see's in him.

    Howard

    Johnny-Jags-Distin-Baines

    Osman-Gibson-Pienaar

    Victor-Jelevic-Mirillas

Id like to see that but thats a million miles away from the team were going to see, without fellaini looking at our best 11 it seriously weakens the team its not going to be an easy game just hope he's back for the derby.

  15. Overall it was a decent performance, nothing more. No-one really stood out and I dont think anyone was that bad. The thing Moyes should take from this game is that Fellaini can be wasted sometimes by playing alongside the striker. He should definitely be allowed to get forward, but he should also be used deeper to control possession. He has the engine to be influential at both ends of the pitch, and I think he is a little bit wasted if he is solely used as a deep midfielder or as a second striker.

well said agree with that fed up of fellaini being a target man

  16. I think the language here is of someone who is saying that he's considering this his final season. He's not looking for a move in January, but unless something spectacular happens at the club - and I think that'll only be us in a position to sign top quality players (which I don't think even a Champions League place will give us on its own) - then he's off.

To be fair, I doubt it's about the money. He's on £75k per week with us and he'll find it difficult to get the interest of clubs who can pay more than that and fit the criteria of the type of club he's looking for.

Is it a coincidence that Moyes' contract is also up at the end of the season?? I know this doesn't have the same bearing as a player, but the reassurance won't be there if he goes to a rolling contract.

Of course, at the end of the season he'll still have over 3 years left on his contract and I think we should be expecting £25m if he continues with good form. Assuming Moyes stays on too, and with what he managed with £12m this summer, what could next season hold with that?!

It would be a blow to lose him, but there's no way he can do the job of three or four Moyes approved signings.

fair enough moyes has done wonders with low money but getting rid of fellaini to us is like barcalona losing messi, yes we would get on but none of them players are going to be world class with prices now these players are rare, city have got a fair few top level players but take yaya toure out and theres no way they would have won the league, you wil never be up there with a team of decent players, we need to focus on getting better players to improve the first 11 then if we get in europe get a few squad players, think this is the best team we have had in years but if things dont go right I really think players will decide to move on.

  17. When I tell my friends he's the best DM in the world they laugh in my face.

To be fair, he is now twice as good as when he left the Belgian League.. and noone follows Everton.

your not far off always thought pirlo and mascherano were up there but now he's probably better than them both. imo felli is the best player weve had in the last 15 years, dont want to hear rooney as i can see it coming (wayne was young and never going to stay long term ) really do think its his dad wanting him to be at a top european club playing champions league hope im wrong.
