  1. Hes a good solid player, whos played a crap load of games for us like osman and is the latest scape goat because he didnt cost 5 million and doesnt play for a foreign country

Out of curiousity who are the best right backs in the country at the mo

  2. Hey I must be the first person on here to have read Duncans new book!

It's on the theme of a pop up book!.....you remember the type of thing! as you turn the pages, pictures come like a 3D image.....first page and a friggin great fist smacks you in eye!

I'm getting my mother-in-law one for christmas.

Haha, you should be on the stage

  3. http://www.nsno.co.uk/news-5271.html

FFS, not all our players need to run around like headless chicken, some of them have proper quality.

I beleive that is what Moyse is trying to get him back to doing

When the Yak first came he was a lazy git who only sat around waiting to poach the odd goal but the season before last Moyse transformed him in to more of a team player who could hold the ball up and bring the midfielders into play.

He still managed to bang the goals in and was a far better player for it, I know which version of the Yak I prefer. So I cant understand why people dont want him to get back to that

Im glad you said that, some people seem to have forgot. I remember a few people on here slagging him off for be lazy when he first came

  4. I think it's not the case of who spent how much - it's a case of how much did they need to spend to strengthen their squad adequately.

Man u NO - Sold Ronaldo and lost Tevez, bought in Valencia, Owen, Obertan and already have a massive squad - 52 players per position at least with Hargreaves coming back.

Arsenal NO - Sold Adebuyor and Toure - bought in Vermaelen and have an outragous number of youngsters coming through

Chelsea NO - big squad already, borught in zhirkov - £18m

Liverpool NO - lost alonso - brought in Johnson and Aquilaini to add to an already decent sized squad.

Everton: Struggled through last season having to play the same players with little rest. Injuries meant threadbare squad relied on youngsters with little or no premier league expreience sitting on the bench. Lost Valente, Castillo, Jacobsen and Lescott as senior players. Brought in: Billy, Heitinga, Distin and under the realisation that we are still threadbare Lucas Neill.

Yes we have strengthened in quality a little maybe, the damning fact remains is that our nearest rivals such as Villa and Spurs have strengthened what were already stronger squads than us.

If we are to continue to look to improve we need to get strength in depth. We are always 2 injuries away from a disaster - our first 11 is great, how often do the first 11 stay fit?

I applaud those who continue to look at the glass being half full - I wish I could. Fact is history has a way of repeating itself at this club. The only thing that keeps it positive is the work that Moyes and the boys do. We are being let down at a higher level.

Burning question: "How much is Everton up for sale for?"

Unfortunately I think Evertonians have a habit of putting themselves and the club down.

Do these other teams really have a big squad??? If man u get a few injuries they are depending on reserves and younsters like the rest of us. If liverpool loose someone like Torres or Gerrard, who replaces them. I think its all a bit of a myth and if only people believed in the team as much as they did in these idiological hurdles then maybe we will "stuggle through" this season and finish 5th again and be in a cup final, something I'm sure many other clubs are aspiring to

  5. Looking at the whole transfer window as a whole and the other teams around/above us, with the obvious exception of man city and or spurs, did anyone else spend a fortune???????????

    Man u NO

    Arsenal NO

    Chelsea NO

    Liverpool NO

Before anyone says I dont care about anyone else, its a very good indication that no ones flush with cash, even the teams that you would expect to be

  6. What amazed me about the incident is the incredible hearing abilities of those Everton fans in that corner. Maybe they can all lip read, but within a second of him saying something to the useless ball boy they were standing up 10, 15 or more rows back and giving Diouff some stick.

How could they tell what he said?

If youve ever sat in the crowd at a football match somes times you can hear what they are saying when your near the back when its quite, so you can definately hear what is being said from 5 years away. As someone else also pointed out, they are all having a go at diouf because he should know better than to have a go, especially at a kid.

I found it quite funny as well that a ball boy in front of the away fans was cheering every time we scored, this really insensed some of the blackburn supportors who it seemed were asking for the ball boy to be hung drawn and quatered for such a crime. I laughed out loud at their antics in telling stewards and police of the boys crime

  7. If one knows what Camel lips meant, then it's plain and simple. However if one didn't know and was called it, then that individual could be offended. Every country has different lexicon and regional phases, just has to be wise and sensitive when applying them. Not that difficult to understand I imagine, so hopefully we can get back to topic.

When did you every worry about being sensitive. :gay: Blert

  8. I employed a (relatively) young girl in our sales admin section and had to sack her unfortunately, she basically turned out to be stupid. One of the things she used to do was to use txt speak and when I told her to stop it as it was unprofesional she said that it was faster to type that way. I persevered for a while but gave up in the end

We also have an accountant that underlines words to emphasise points as well as puts them in bold, shes a KNOB

  9. Kipper is a vile, and extremely unreliable site of horse manure. I wouldn't even ask them for the time of day, as those illiterates haven't a clue.

That quote could have been written about yourself

Despite all the obvious money grabbing quotes, I'm sure he'll do well for us

  10. Foam parties are were foam gets sprayed around. Good laugh, ended up in a backally random club one last night, that was mental, was klinsmann'ing it through the club, was bloody funny. Silent discos are sick too, no music being played except though headphones and when you take them off all you hear is people singing. God i love uni.

Shouldnt you be learning stuff you young fart (just jealous really)

  11. Just read this on the net .........

The club’s borrowing increased to £39.5m from £29.2m, reflecting investment in the playing squad of £23.1m (£24m in 2007) but repayment is not due for more than five years.

Overall this means that Everton’s net debt stands at £36.8m, an increase of £10.4m from last year’s figure of £26.4m.

    ------

An increase of £10 million in debt even tho we havent spent anything for two years, and in those two years the Tv money has nearly doubled, and we have had record turnovers but have still gone deeper in debt.

    I'm a bit puzzled.

I'm not suprised Bill, its fooking madness, but I take heart in the fact that we are probably one of the least in debt clubs going, so when the bubble bursts we we wont fall as far as the likes of liverpoo, as the credit crunch has shown you cont keep borrowing on the strength of nothing and it will catch up with you

As the comments saying how we arnt competing with hull and so on, these teams are buying players becasue they have to, we have buit up a good (but thin) set of players over the past few years, add to that some promising youth players and in reality we only need to add a couple of players to improve anf a couple to thinken the squad. Look at the four teams above us for guidance and none of them have really gone splashing the cash, theres a good reason for that, everyones skint and prices have gone through the roof

Every season Moyes leaves it very late with his signings, have some faith despite all the frustration I'm sure there will be one or two suprises.

Did anyone see Fallini or Yak before it was happening????

  12. The fact is - the club do not have the excuse of saying "Joleon's request was untimely" - to have any confidence in the people running this club I would like to think that the contingency plan is all there ready to be rolled out. Look at Liverpool, lose Alonso, replace with aquilaini straight away

Great example that, dont you think one deal hinged on another and that Liverpool were holding out to get as much as they could have Madrid, he would have gone last season if they had got Barry

Everton dont want to sell Lescot and are just being as difficult as they can in King canute styleeee to try and get as much out of the deal as they can as well as save face

  13. We are bound to get a centerback and Ive got a bad feeling we will sign Turner from hull (please go in for someone better )

I remember thinking Jagielka probably wasn't the right move, and to be honest I didn't think Baines was the best we could afford, and then their was Cahill from the lower division, with that dodgy old knee......nar! surely we can do better than those kind of players.

I WAS pretty happy when we signed Kroldrup, he seemed a pretty big name with a reputation and a future and That old VDM had the right credentials, now what happened to them? It's not always how much you spend, and their reputation, even Arteta didn't cost an arm and a leg, and other teams didn't want him.Somewhere out there is an up and coming central defender, who when given their break could put Torres in his back pocket......John Terry was unheard of at one time....so was Jagielka!

How very true, basically expect the worst and hope for the best in true Everton style
