  6. Anfield clean out is imminent Phil Rothfield Liverpool co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillet are considering a mass Anfield cleanout with manager Rafael Benitez to be sacked is the first agenda for the co-owner after last nights loss to West Ham. Marcelo Lippi is still unemployed after taking Italy to World Cup in 2006 and the Americans have first identified him as the potential replacement for Benitez. Speculation continues with Barcelona to sign Liverpool trio Xabi Alonso, Fernando Torres and Danijel Agger when Benitez gets the chop from the co-owners. Also Ryan Babel's future remains in doubt at Anfield after being left on the bench again with Real Madrid preparing a £18million raid on the young dutch wonderkid. Dirk Kuyt, Jermaine Pennant, Harry Kewell, Peter Crouch, Steve Finnan and Andriy Vorinon future also remains in doubt after a very poor season. The Sun --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While we are riding high in 4th place, the scums are 8 games without a win Loving every moment of this

  9. Gatting feels sorry for Nasra tribalfooball.com - January 28, 2008 Arsenal youth coach Steve Gatting is disapointed of Nasra's refusal entry into the UK. The 17 year old Lebanese striker was due for a trial with Arsenal youth team on January 23 but was held in customs at Heathrow Airport and was not responding to any of the questions from 2 Scotland Yard detectives as he could not understand english. Lebanese Britain's consulate Fernanda Alves was called into Heathrow Airport to help the detectives to answer their questions. Gattings first spotted Nasra at the Olympic Qualifiers in Beirut and was impressed with skills Nasra showed off in front of Gattings. Khaled Nasra has been sent back to his Hassan Nasrallah owned club Nejmeh and has been banned to enter any of the EU nations and Israel due to having an uncle being with the Lebanese Terrorist group Hezbollah Guerilla which is too owned by Hassan Nasrallah. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I dont like Lebanese people but this is very harsh on the kid. i dont think he has done anything wrong
  10. im trying to say that Man Utd fans are the best supporters in england btw here is the link http://www.redcafe.net/f7/will-liverpool-184193/
  11. Hicks plans long stay at Anfield Hicks and Gillett took over at Liverpool last March Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks has insisted he plans to retain his stake in the club for the foreseeable future. "There is no question in my mind that I will still be an owner of Liverpool Football Club in five years," he told BBC 5 Live's Sportsweek programme. Liverpool have been the subject of speculation about a possible takeover by Dubai International Capital. Hicks said that was never a "serious possibility" but the BBC understands he was in contact with DIC last Friday. It is not clear what that conversation was about but Hicks said: "I can't think of a price where I would be interested in selling." The Texan admitted speaking to DIC "a few months ago" about a "10% to 15% participation" in the club but DIC felt the price was too high. "They would have been a minority investor and we would have used that capital to build a new stadium. We'll find other ways to capitalise the new stadium," he said. Hicks, who along with fellow owner George Gillett took over the Reds in March 2007, confirmed a £350m refinancing package was put in place last week, with £105m of that as debt tied to the club. Of that total, £45m will be used for future player transfers and to meet the club's working capital needs, while BBC sports editor Mihir Bose said £60m will provide the start-up money for the new ground. "The refinancing will provide the capital for the next year-and-a-half to take the stadium move forward," added Hicks. He repeated his backing for manager Rafa Benitez despite revealing earlier this month that he held talks with German Jurgen Klinsmann in November about taking over as manager in case the Spaniard left the club. "We have a great manager who has our support," he said. "After our meeting on 16 December he has shown his strong intent to do the right thing by the club. "Rafa's got a contract for two more years and hopefully he'll stay for longer." The Sun this news makes me very happy
  12. "Barcelona will release star striker Samual Eto'o to Chelsea for £30million and will sign Liverpool trio Xabi Alonso, Fernando Torres and Danijel Agger for a combined fee of £60million." - The Sun looks Barca will find themselves a replacement for Eto'o
  13. Liverscums winning the title, thats a fairytale. But what The Sun have written is more like a reality then a fairytale.
  14. And this is why I love the Sun Liverpool co-owners Tom Hicks and George Gillet could seek a return on their investment at seasons end by sacking current manager Rafael Benitez selling off the current playing squad. The Sun can reveal the American co-owners are more then willing to sell inspirational Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard to rival clubs with the price tag of £22million. Barcelona will release star striker Samual Eto'o to Chelsea at £30million and purchase Liverpool trio Xabi Alonso, Fernando Torres and Danijel Agger at £60million. Liverpool's Brazilian players, Fabio Aurelio and Lucas Leiva have both been linked with a move to Brazilian club Sao Paolo. Real Madrid will break the bank to sign Man Utd Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo at £90million plus Real Madrid will pay a further £17million to sign Dutch rising star Ryan Babel from Liverpool to re-unite with his former Ajax team mate Wesley Sneijder. Goalkeeper Jose Manual Pepe Reina future has come under doubt again at Anfield with Valencia looking for a replacement of Santiago Canizeres. Portsmouth, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Ajax have all been linked with out-of-form striker Dirk Kuyt. Andriy Vorinin is also more likely to be returning to Germany next season. Sven Goran Eriksson has always been a fan of Peter Crouch after coaching him at National level. In all, the American co-owners could be getting a return of £120million at seasons end. The Sun
  15. This is just plain wrong... this is coming from sydneys sunday newspaper Danny Weidler Iraq's fantastic duo Nashrat Akram and Younis Makhmoud move to Man City has been cancelled due to their work permit being rejected. City's coach Eriksson will keep in touch with 2 Iraqi players. Also a young Lebanese striker Khaled Nasra's trial to Arsenal has been cancelled due to Khaled Nasra having relative links with Lebanese terrorist group the Hezbollah Guerella. He has also been banned to enter Britain, France, Italy and Spain.
  16. You got to love those man utd fans and The Sun newspaper -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I spotted this article over on YNWA that someone posted, it's from a few years back. - The Magic in Brazil Soccer Corruption Quote: There are other examples: a contract between Bank of America and Vasco da Gama was intended to cover twenty five years but lasted only two. Worst of all, perhaps, is the case of the Hicks group. This group is a hedge fund based in Texas and linked to President George W. Bush. Hicks took over two teams, Corinthians and Cruzeiro, through contracts that should have run until the year two thousand and ten. These deals included promises of construction of new stadiums. Hicks also bought forty nine percent of the traffic television network and dreamed up its own ultimate soccer business: Hicks teams facing each other in matches broadcast, naturally, by Hicks. Hicks set up a cable channel in Latin America, PSN, acquired national basketball association rights, formula one races and soccer championships at overblown prices. Hicks invested about five hundred million dollars and in only two years filed for bankruptcy. I e-mailed the guy to make sure it was "our" Hicks and he replied saying this: Quote: "Of course that the Group Hicks of Corinthians is the same. They also wanted to manage argentine clubs. I remember some years ago I wrote an article called Hicks vs Hicks by Hicks TV. Because they also founded a latinoamerican TV channell called PSN (Panamerican Sports Network). Many people believed it was a great excuse for money laundering. The payed 3or 4 times more the rights for Libertadores Cup, Formula One, NBA and so on, a lot of money. Friends from ESPN told me that it was imposible to make a good business with such a lot of money. Just one year and a half later PSN went on bankrupt. Cheers." I posted this up on YNWA earlier and the lads have found a couple of articles about it: Scoring Profits? | Latin Trade | Find Articles at BNET.com Quote: Carlos Roberto de Mello, Corinthians' vice president for finances, says Hicks, Muse waited too long to reinvest the profits from the trades. "That hurt Corinthians' performance and irritated fans used to a better playing team," he says. He warns that the strategy may cut into future team profits if Hicks, Muse doesn't get busy building the team up again. But Hicks, Muse's Pan-American Sports Teams President Richard Law defends the decisions. "The reality of any sports franchise is that teams go through cycles as players mature," he says. "Our job is not to turn back the inevitable, but to build Corinthians and Cruzeiro up from the junior ranks," referring to the teams' 16- to 20-year-old players. They were also supposed to build a 45,000 stadium for Corinthians Quote: As part of a separate deal, Hicks, Muse plans to build the club a new training center in early 2001 and a new 45,000-seat stadium in the next few years. It never happened. Another article: Globalisation is a distant dream- Corporate Dossier-Specials-The Economic Times Quote: Meanwhile, the free flow of capital has resulted in foreigners investing in football clubs, often with disastrous consequences, such as when the American buyout firm Hicks, Muse, Tate & Furst bought Corinthians, Sao Paulo’s leading club. Corinthians won the World Cup championships in 2000, but the club’s performance subsequently slumped and a political row ensued as fans began to protest about everything from player trades to changes in the colour of jerseys. Hicks, Muse exited three years later, following a row with its local partner. How the fuck can a few random lads find out all this information after a 5 minute search of the internet yet the chairman and chief exec of our club can't? Moores and Parry sold us down the river the cunts. Also, how has this shit not come out in the papers? You'd think someone would have stumbled across this considering Corinthians is Mascherano's former club and it seemed he was at the centre of the row when it first happened.
  17. AMERICANS IN DISPUTE WITH POOL BOARD The future of Tom Hicks and George Gillett at Liverpool has once again been cast in doubt amid fresh reports that the two Americans are at loggerheads with the rest of the club's board. The Sun can report the cause of the dispute is the way in which the pair plan to refinance the loan with which they secured ownership of Liverpool last year. The loan from the Royal Bank of Scotland is due to be repaid at the end of next month and, rather than inject their own money, Hicks and Gillett are intent on securing a second loan of around £350m to pay off the first. 'The businessmen want to put the new debt directly on to Liverpool's books, guaranteed, crucially, against club assets, not their own,' says a source close to the club The Sun understands the club's board are understandably aghastat this proposal, not least because it directly contravenes the American's pledge not to plunge the club into 'Glazer-style' debt. Now, it seems, that is exactly what they were planning. Neither has spent any of their own cash yet. Unless they guarantee the new loans with their own money - which they may be unwilling or unable to provide - the impasse will continue. With neither party willing to budge, a sale becomes increasingly likely. The insider cites a 'major football financier' claiming that 'Hicks and Gillett had agreed a deal in principle to sell the club for £350m, and that a process of due diligence was under way.' The Sun ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I am loving every moment of this. the more this drags on the further in debt the club will get into which will end the liverscums existence for good

  22. i dont know must be an unknown player? but other then that, Iraq were just lucky to win the asian cup. you will see how badly they will perform in the confeds cup next year when they take on the likes of brazil and who ever is the euro champion in 08. they have been performing very poorly after the asian cup. they got knocked out by australia in the olympic qualifiers. Saudi Arabia are the biggest overated bunch of hacks in world football. they have 'best team' on paper but just dont know how to win a bloody game! look at their performances in the past 3 world cups
  23. Tom Smithies The Arab clubs will not and even consider letting their players leave for Europe or let alone play outside their own country. But in recent moves, this trend will broken very soon. Already 4 Arabic players, 3 which of whom took 1st 2nd and 3rd of Asian player of the year will be heading to England. Saudi's Asian Player of the Year Yasser Al-Qahtani is on trial with Middleborough. Iraqi duo Younes Makhmoud and Nashrat Akram or on trial with high flying Man City And this is a very strange and unusual thing to hear but Arsenal are trialing a 17 year old no name from Lebanon by the name of Khaled Nasra who actually impressed scouts in the Under 23 Beijing Olympic Qualifiers. All 4 of these players could set a trend for arab players leaving their homelands to make their mark on Europe especially in the UK.
  24. Iraq star Nashat Akram has confirmed he's completing his move to Manchester City. The midfielder has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Sven Goran Eriksson's side. Akram, 23, has been training with City this week and is finalising terms ahead of gaining a work permit. He said: "I've signed a contract with Manchester City for two years and a half after finishing the medical tests. "The financial terms are good although I don't prefer to talk in such matters. "The negotiations with Manchester City started long time ago and these negotiations were enclosed until we had a successful agreement." Eriksson said: "He is a very good football player, he will need to get used to the style of English football but he's a very elegant player and in the Asian Cup he was one of the very best in the tournament. "He reminds me a bit of Michael Johnson, in that he can do a little bit of everything in both attack and defence. "I think he is one for the future, I'm not sure if he's ready to play this season but I've seen him train and he's good. He's a technically correct player."
