Agree with what you are saying but if can sign him for another 12 month loan contract then why not do that and use the £12m or so on another player. So if they're asking for 12 for a player who's done nothing but warmed their bench and been loaned out, then I can see why DM doesn't want anything to do with this deal. You are only getting half a player for that price. I like MF he was starting to find his old form in the last few games. Theres alot of interest in this young man, lets hope he keeps his feet on the ground. Everton have the advantadge of not needing English players for the future as roughly seventy percent of our first team are English. Some of the other clubs vying for his signature don't have that luxury. Any club buying for the future in which category Aaron firmly sits must take into account Sebbs new rulings. In my view there is just a big one, because bar Manchester United who make a profit every year theres not a club in this league who isn't running at a defecit. Well, I'm willing to bet Derby had a profitable season, seeing as they got a 50 million pound windfall and hardly spent anything on new players. Think Arsenal might be turning a profit too, with all the extra money from that new stadium of theirs, EVERY YEAR! I wouldnt expect Derby to make 50 mil every year JD, but I agree Arsenal are a good model for the rest of the league however with an initial lay out of 400 plus million for their lucrative new stadium it may be a couple more years before they feel the full benefit of that revenue. In the meantime they will struggle to keep key players, who can earn twice as much in wages at other clubs than they can at Arsenal.

Newcastle have kept a clean sheet away from home a mighty impressive twice this season. Once at Fulham, once agains't Pompey. Their defensive record could be described as poor at best. A clean sheet agains't the barmy army is all that lies between us and Uefa Cup football next season. Its in our own hands and I'm sure we'd have all taken that at the start of the season.
