  1. I take it they wouldn't consider Yak plus Yobo plus £3m?

Wait there - have we got £3m?

I'm disgusted that a player who in my opinion offers all we need to opererate on the left, who allegedly is holding out for us due to his North West links can not be obtained.

Is it me missing something, but can one of our super rich memebers of the board bridge a loan as a downpayment? In effect that can be paid back when Yak/Yobo is sold?

    http://www.footybunker.com/everton-youngster-may-be-sold-to-finance-two-new-purchases/8296

Wigan may be in a position to allow N’Zogbia to leave for a swap deal though which would probably mean Yakubu going the other way

In all fairness i've given up hope of signing n'zog.. with a fee being agreed with villa and him wanting to move i cant see him waiting around to see if we make an offer anymore, unless we act super fast in selling swomeone.

But if there is any truth in that article, which i very highly doubt, then i'd say selling rodders and being able to get long and n'zog out of it would be a pretty fair deal!!

  2. Anichebe is playing pretty well tbf! Put himself about quite abit and put his goal away pretty well, tired a little in the last part of the half.. but in that heat im not surprised! barkley's vision, creativity and passing was a breath of fresh air i felt. rodders is doing well holding up in the middle and vellios is getting in behind the defence quite abit. Standard Billy showed up for the goal and havent seen that much of him since :P not a bad half imo.. looking forward to the second! hopefully get gueye on!!!

    EVERTON MAKE N’ZOGBIA APPROACH

Everton have made an official approach for Wigan wing wonder Charles N’Zogbia. The Frenchman has garnered a lot of interest this summer, with his club believed to have already turned down a £9million bid from Aston Villa.

The Times reckons the Toffees have made their interest known to Wigan, who are expected to ask for at least £10million. N’Zogbia’s current contract runs out at the end of the season and the club are keen for him to renew, but would rather sell him now than risk losing him for nothing in 12 months time.

  4. It's live here on ESPN or Fox Soccer Can't remember have to check. Also thinking about going to the Everton DC United game. Depends on if my wife has to work. 5 hour trip with really bad traffic.

If ETV is still playing up come K.O and it's live on American TV then there will probs be a site streaming it somewhere I'd imagine

  5. The Times say we have bid for him today, cant read the story as i am not a member of the tmes website

Everton have made an approach to sign Charles N'Zogbia, although it is not clear how the club would fund the transfer.

Wigan Athletic want £10million for the winger after they rejected a £9million offer from Aston Villa. N'Zogbia has been offered an extension to his contract, which ends this season.

Everton's financial position has been squeezed because their bank is likely to reduce their overdraft facility by £5million to about £20million. The Merseyside club could sell three players to raise money, including Phil Jagielka, although Arsenal are unwilling to match the £20million valuation of the England defender.

  6. everton squad numbers on the web site yobo yak and rodwell all been removed from the squad list. only think rodwell has been left off so he can have yobos squad number though

That's the rumour going round atm.. But tbh as long as we keep Felli I'd be happy to let him go for 20m +

  7. At £4m they would be potentially getting a striker who will get the promotion on the cheap. I would go £4m plus £3m if they get promotion to the premier league. Is the £4m the magic number needed for the nzogbia downpayment?. Bluekipper seem to think Charlie Is waiting for us as he is settled in north west...

If we do sign nzogbia I hope the likes of peoplesgroup sustain pressure, it's not about signings for me. The bigger picture.

    HOPEFULLY!!!

  8. Better than nzogbia!!

IMO from watching him in the pre season games and the few games he finally mustard up last season he does have a lot of promise. I really hope Moyes puts some trust in him next season and gives him a few games to see what he's worth, especially if we don't make any signings this summer. So with a bit of experience behind him in the forthcoming season he might just well turn out to be!! From what I've heard him and Vellios were starting to tear it up in the reserves at the end of last season, so why not give them a go? The worst that can happen is they turn out to be a flop and we go back to the old guard.

  9. anyone heard about our bid for him?? apparently matched villai just seen

if, and thats a BIG if, we do manage to scrape together the funds and put a bid in for him and we manage to match Villa in terms of wages etc then i can see him choosing us. He's already stated that he would favour a move to Goodison! Let's just keep our fingers and toes crossed that Bill finds 10mill down the back of the sofa or something

Just stumbled across this after making my post..

however Everton’s presence in the race for N’Zogbia is something of a surprise

By the sounds of it even they don't believe it!

Some reports still linking us, but I think our times up. Villa need to replace 2 decent wingers and IMO getting rid of Downing and replacing him with N'zog, plus the 10mil they'll have left over, is a great bit of business. Especially as I rate N'zogbia higher than Downing! It's a shame because I thought we might have managed to somehow pull a deal together for him, he would have been a perfect fit on the left wing linking up with our Baines :(
