    More transfer gossip

     

    An unnamed Ghanaian could be the next player in through the door on a free transfer according to rumour, with some speculating it’s Sammy Kuffour, the 31 year-old defender who is without a club after being released by AS Roma.

     

    Another, more exciting prospect, of course, is long-time target Stephen Appiah. (Toffeeweb)

     

    Obviously either of these two would be gratefully gobbled up by the Goodison faithful, but Appiah in particular - on a free - would be a great piece of bargain basement business.

    I have Just tried to buy Mountino......Not a chance....Sporting where having none of it......

    What do you do with all the kids that come through??????? Most of them are not v good and feel well shity getting shut of them all....

     

    My squad is down to less than 40 players ha ha First team 18 urgh!!!! see..... me and Davey one and the same... ha ha

     

    I see if the assistant rates them and then check myself, if they are dung I just let their contracts run out and let them go. Don't sign Moutinho, he is nothing special, consistent yes, but he gets no more than 7s.

    Goal scoring record is good... excellent in fact even if in a egyptian league. At 1.8 million can you really complain... We sold McFadden for nrly 3times that and if he can score important goals could prove a good signing.

     

    Id take him at that price at 1.8 mill

    Neither, I would like to think there is better out there. Vaughan and to some extent Anichebe are better than both these players, I would only take Smith because he is versatile. Lets face it once Vaughan is fully fit he is our second choice striker followed by Anichebe, once Cahill is up and running we will have no space for another striker. Especially a lower rate one such as Emad Meteb, if we are going to sign a striker he has got to be good enough to dislodge Yakubu from attack in order to provide competition.

    Just to confirm SWP was sitting with the rest of the Chelsea squad at Wigan, although not a sub he was there. I can't see why that would kill the rumour about him joining us because Wigan is just down the road.

     

    I'm trying to think of positives about him signing and I just can't get excited. Yeah he has a few England caps and has scored at that level, but as I said in another thread he is just to short and we are full of tiny tots at the moment. One positive, it might stop Neville and Jags lumping the ball? Oh wait I do have second positive, he is the fastest Premiership player with the ball at his feet last time I checked, but he is only tenth fastest without the ball? Go figure?

    no, i totally get that. i was just pointing out that that particular paper isn't really highly regarded here. mostly shocking crimes and sensasionalist reporting, so not high cred on that regard.

     

     

    Here you go your replacement for Moutinho when he joins Everton. Valencia clear out, Ludovic Butelle is surplus to requirements but has had not interest and neither has there been any clubs making enquiries about Hugo Viana after he was made available by los che.

    Maduro To Head Valencia Clear-Out

    Hedwiges Maduro has been told that he will spend the next season out on loan and has insisted that is only willing to join another Spanish club from Valencia.

     

    The Dutch midfielder only moved to Mestalla in January after Ronald Koeman signed him from Ajax, but new coach Unai Emery has already decided that he is not part of his plans.

     

    Ahead of Valencia's Super Cup second leg in Madrid, Maduro held talks with the trainer and was told the reasons why he is not going to be a part of the squad this season.

     

    While the 23-year-old did not understand the decision, given that he has had so few chances to prove himself, he understands that he must now look for a new club.

     

    A loan deal could easily be set up in the next few days with Racing Santander, Deportivo La Coruña and Real Betis all considering making a move for Maduro.

     

    Valencia are set for a busy week with Éver Banega's loan switch to Atlético de Madrid to be completed next week, while Nikola Zigic is set for talks with both Everton and Galatasaray.

    I know its still early but I am right so far. Spurs are a load of old bollocks! How many times do they get talked up before a season starts and then go on to do nothing. LMAO.

     

    Even funnier is this little gem.

     

    Tottenham boss Juande Ramos is lining up a shock move for Wigan striker Emile Heskey as a replacement for unsettled ace Dimitar Berbatov. Would Heskey be a good signing for Spurs?

     

    No! Ha, ha ha ha ah hah aha ha ha ha ha ha ah ah aha ha! :lol:

     

    If I ever think we are bad I look for a spurs result and it always makes me happy. :D

    I'd be very happy if he could do better than last year and get to 20 in the league.

     

    I have always liked Yakubu, hopefuly another 20 goal salvo will prove to the rest of the Premiership that he is the real deal. 100 English league goals is a quality achievement, the Yak is the kind of striker we have been begging for since the days of Tony Cottee, and Peter Beardsley. The Yak can score from anywhere and is always a threat, he is the kind of striker that can be missing for 85 mins then pop up with a winner, 12m was a steal.

    There is a lot more than his finishing, and I think he links the play nicely, them big shoulders provide the energy for his imense power, not many center halfs will bully the Yak out of a game! Feed the Yak and he will score!!! I reckon he will achieve 20 in the league this season, anything else in the cups will be a nice bonus.

    Thanks for the great game today lads. How Arteta doesn't play for one of the big 4 is beyond me he's immense! Lescott is one of the best center backs i've ever seen at the Albion in my life. I was dissapointed with Yakubu a little bit as he in effective. I like the look of that young lad who had a goal dissalowed ( Rodwell ? ) I'm not sure why it got dissalowed tbh as i didn't see anything wrong with it. Howard + Lescott have gotta learn to comunicate as they got in a mess so many times today. IMO i thought we deserved a point. Shame about your second goal from a mix up between Carson & Meite. Yobo is a class player aswell IMO. We need a striker ASAP as we haven't got a proper finisher. Everton got any young players we can have ? :P

     

    Thanks for making it a great atmosphere aswell. I thought we were fantastic untill you scored and you lot are vocal aswell.

     

    I think us & Everton have one of the best support in England.

    Not trying to be funny but Arteta was quiet today, you should see him when he's on blob. Rodwell played better today but still a few loose passes. Overall the baggies were unlucky, it goes to show though the little quality we do have does make a difference. That little oriental fella wasn't too bad, some nice skill but a poor end result.

    Just seen another article which says 10m Euros which has got to be about 6m? I think Liverpool offered that amount plus Veronika! I still don't want him, but will it make Arteta happy? Riera is an international (6 Caps) would that mean the Spanish manager would have to come and watch Arteta? I can't believe this nugget has 6 caps and Arteta zilch!

    He was shit at city, but very good at esponyol. Its a risk, and at 12m a very big risk. But you only have to look at the teams intrested in him to see he has potential, Liverpool, Man U and Arse have been linked previously.

     

    The thing that worries me is the price tag. 12m is a huge gamble for a team like us and i'm not sure if it would pay off. But one thing, at least we would finally have a left footed midfielder. But im not too sure on his "star" quality, and whether or not his style of play will vastly improve us. Hoepfully he can prove me wrong though. Maybe he can vie for the position of the clubs favourite spaniard.

     

    Skillful, no pace, crossing and finishing woeful. We should have signed Manny if these are the depths we are stooping to. 12m! Fucking Deco was 8m, Ronaldhino was less than 25m! Yet we want to pay 12m for Riera 20m quoted for Moutinho? Unrealistic no wonder we haven't signed anyone. Pienaar at 2.5m is one hundred times better than Riera.
