  1. I actually have been thinking ever since AJ moved on that he would be an excellent fit. A striker that can perform at an international level and also is strong enough to hold his own at the top of a 4-5-1.

Zigic, M'Bia, and Moutinho would put us in a pretty good position (although I still think we need an upgrade in the center of the park, Osman just doesn't offer enough defensively).

Hopefully he is useful in the air, I am dreaming of a Big Dunc ;)

  2. panic stations, seriously. if any of the optimists still possibly think we'll be ok even if we dont have any new players, please come forward now with your reasoning, because i for one need convincing. the only tihing im looking forward to is the £200 getting knocked off season tickets in the cocacola championship.

anyone recon we can fill 50,000 seats in the lower leagues?

people will think im over reacting, but can anybody see this side (with no orthodox central midfielders what so ever) getting 40 points?

Cahill and Pienaar will be back soon, we won't be relegated we just won't win fuck all or do well in the league.

  3. Absolutely spot on, we have spent all summer chasing a ghost

I don't think we want the player enough. If we wanted him that bad he waould have signed ages ago. Its alll a PR stunt and a tool to boost Moutinho's contract with Sporting. Let's face it if we bought Moutinho shirts sales would be through the roof, that would knock a small chunk of any outlay we paid for him.

Everton are the borrowers of top flight football.

  4. Hi! :)

    I understand...

I am not saying that Moutinho wouldn't do well for Everton, but i think Everton fans are putting to much of their hopes in one player, even if it is Moutinho. He is not the player who will get the ball, at all times, from the defence and take it all the way to the attack. Everton needs a good defence midfielder, like Sporting as Veloso (or Rochemback), who can progress with the ball on his feet and who can free him a bit from areas around his box, then, i think Everton needs another decent player on the attacking midfield with whom he can build the game towards the oponents box, where he can open spaces for striking moves. Moutinho can play in a 6 position, it's true, but he is more effective if the position is well covered and he can move to the right/center midfield, closer to the oponents box. Maybe Everton is well covered in these positions, if so, then they can take a fuller adventage of an investment of 25 mil euros on Moutinho. I can give this away, no problem, as i am not familiar with Everton's squad. It just seemed, by what i hear from the fans, that the team has more problems then just filling Moutinho's roll.

    We're not reds, we're green B)

We have enough players that will compliment Moutinho, Arteta, Pienaar, Cahill, and Osman. If all targets are met then we should have Mbia as holding midfield and Tiago as well. Yak would fire in the goals with this midfield, Moutinho would be the cherry on the cake. Get it sorted Davie boy!!!!

  5. ^^^^^ Im only ijust into my second season... finding it hard to sell the likes of Johnson.....how did you pull that off????

The only signing I got during the summer was Hunt from Reading....... The fans FUCKING hate him!!!!!! Hes benched now anyway...

One signing..............Ill begetting sacked soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even though I finnished runner up in the Prem.....

I sold Johnson first thing on the game to West Ham for 10m

  6. If the news is true about a delegation going over to speak to him, then they may yet be light at the end of the tunnel. Then again

It was on SSN this morning so there must be an ounce of truth in it, I believe it was generated from the daily mail though.

"God it's me Sven again, If we get Moutinho I will give up smoking scouts honour"

  7. Zenit have a ton of cash and are not really looking to sell, I can't see this happening. Do think he'd be class in the premiership though. Couple other of the Russian nationals looked worth a look too.

Will we take a risk on this mercenary? He has blew any kind of move. Still I'd have him in our midfield depending on how much they dropped his value?

Edit- Just heard on SSN the asking price is 19m, news flash Zenit, he's not worth that effing much!!!

  8. I'm not saying he'd be a world class signing nor am I saying we should sign him but people saying he's shite is ridiculous! The last 2 seasons have be mared by injuries but if can prove his fitness he's still class. Just 2/3 seasons ago - injury free he was one of the best players in the prem.

Mate your over-rating him, he was good in a class Arsenal team. I believe he is well passed it now and the wages he would demand are far too much.

  9. I think Spurs defeat is more painful than ours and Pompey got ate alive by chelsea. Villa could be the team that finish 5th I think they have bought well so far and do look favourites to have a go a the top 4. We need our luck to change dramatically if we are going to compete, even if we buy just two players I think we will be improved.

  10. I bought Modric 1.8m in first seaon, Cana (8m and got booked nearly every game) and Vagner Love for 12m and won the bloody league, uefa cup, and FA Cup.

Just recently bought Moutinho 15m, Veloso, 15m, and Arshavin 10m. 10 games in and won every one.

Side note Van der Meyde had a storming season and is now worth 6m and Leighton Baines comes good. Marcelo at Real is a cracking player and can be bought for 5.5m sending Phil Neville to the reserves Lol.

  11. im not gunna say lescott played well by any means, but he also saved us a couple of times, one priceless block when howard looked beaten. i think its gunna take him a few games back in the middle with yobo to get back to the partnership we had a couple of seasons back.

its mostly frustrating when you see how good football we can play, like for yaks goal. we should be pushing on this season, shambles

I think we all know signings or not we will be a different prospect once Cahill, Pienaar, Vaughan, and big Vic return. Arteta is a class act that free kick was out this world! It seems funny that the one thing that we have built our success on (defence) let us down today :( I think today was a wake up call for our players.

  12. That really was dire. The first 45 minutes, bar one moment of brilliance, was probably the worst half of football we have played for a few years. We looked off pace, off colour. Really really bad. Our players either had a bad game or where just annonymous. I think that Yobo was one of the only shining lights throughout the game, J.Lo was simply awful.

The bench today really scared me, i mean i'm surprised that they where allowed to put Chang on there shirt as I was sure that we signed an agreement not to put the logo on junior shirts!!!

We looked very fragile at the back, god knows what has happened to the composure we had built up over the last few years.

On the plus side Rodwell looks to have a bright future ahead of him, though he isn't quite ready yet, makes a few silly mistakes we show up his age. Also Baxter looks a hot prospect, a real explosive introduction.

    Class mate, faf!!!

  13. Fratton Park is being sold, fact

You tell me what mega rich individual would want to buy a club with a ramshackled stadium, in the same city as one of Europes premier teams and a bunch of supporters determined that no move is made, that is a reciepe for disaster. I rather have paid three mortgages than have that happen. We are not a viable proposition for any investor unless we can get a new stadium, as Moyes said in his interview.

As for a dwindling fan base, I was in Goodison in the glory days of 70,000 plus, given the stadium we should be able to fill a 60,000 seater, with a successful team

Now don't anyone think I'm with KEIOC, I think for myself. Matey you should know better if you have been with Everton in the days of 70,000! Kirkby for our Everton? Not a chance, it was a bog standard stadia, nothing like Kings Dock would have been, as for leaving Liverpool not a chance on this earth. I love Everton, I love our history, I would be sick to the stomach to leave Liverpool, the very thought fills me with dread. Yes I would class Kirkby as scousers but we can not leave this city full stop. I would rather buy Anfield first. We are not going to fall down without Kirkby, we will always be playing at the highest level. I'm all for moving but outside the city? No!!!!

If Kenwright can't afford to move us then he should go, and I believe the stingy bastard will be gone soon. If he loves Everton as much as we all do, he should sell to someone who can drive us forward.

Things would have been different if he had sorted the Kings Dock fiasco out, that would have been up their with the San Siro, Old Trafford, and the likes. I bet we would be up there with the best. How many more chances does Bill get?

Kirkby was desperate measures, I don't want a half arse attempt. Save the Stadia money, buy top players and win some trophies, get things right on the pitch and then we will move.

  14. ^^^^^ Thing is though these players you mention seem to want to play here although........

Their clubs will continue to ask for stupid money unless they put in transfer requests....

I bet if Mountino put in a transfer request hed go for around 12million

    Love prob around 10million

We just dot have the pull of the "big 4" plus everyone in the world now knows we are desperae to make a signing.......

Your right DM, if it were Manure after those players, they would have the transfer request in that day. We are deperate so the money starts climbing, which is something we have tried to dispell since Moyes took over and got a rep as not paying over the odds for players. Once these players realise that Manure, Chelski, Redshite, and Arse aren't intrested they may have to lower their ambitions. Catch 22, if the players come we would be challenging, they obviously don't trust their ability to influence a team.

  15. It all seems doom and gloom and we are quick to blame Kenwright/Moyes, I think the fans are the problem and slightly Davie Moyes. Moyes has always stated he works on a five year plan and recently submitted his new one.

We have exceeded anyones expectations in our fight from relegation and making ourselves a Top 10 team. We are guilty of David Moyes rapid success in managing Everton if anything. Make no mistake, to take Everton from relegation candidates since the Premier league was formed to a top five team is an unbelievable achievement and if someone would have said Moyes would have been so good when he took over Walter Smith I would have laughed you into the ground.

I honestly didn't see this young upstart as being the man to take Everton forward and he has done so in rapid time. Moyes is the best manager in the league next to Alex Ferguson and if he can get megabucks to spend he will turn us into champions, even if he dosen't I still fancy him to close in on a league title in the next five years. I rate Moyes, my only big fear this summer has been Moyes not signing a contract, when he does I will breathe easy.

We are the problem because we want instant success, the glory days back now and in being impatient we will cost the club the best manager we have had in years. Moyes has healed some of the wounds of poor management this great club has suffered and will carry on doing so, but I suspect he has been guilty too in that he made it public that we need 5-6 players, which was naughty really as we get excited and BK shits his pants.
