I would prefer owen aswell but lets be serious at the moment we need as many options and players in as possible. Even if larsson costs us £1 mill he is only going to be on £20k a week. We are not in the position to turn anyone down let alone someone with the experience and goalscoring record of larsson, he can make a difference in games especially coming off the bench! Lescott was regarded as THE best defender outside of prem, people were just unsure about gamble on him because of his injuries. As I said Ledley aint a patch of either lescotts or cahills quality even in the championship!!!!!

anyone of us who is a true blue dreams of this signing. The guy is one of the top young attacking midfielders in the world, however we all know if we really wanted him we would have paid the £20 mill plus to get him if not we would have got arshavin for the same. We simply dont have that type of cash!! not only the transfer fee but also the wage package for a 3-5 year contract aswell. Behind the scenes we have major problems otherwise we wouldnt have signed the type of players we have ie loans. To really push the top 4 we need major investment and in the current structure of the club we just dont have that. I love the club and love the fact we are one of only a few clubs that are owned by people who love the club but love dont pay the bills and buy the best players!!! FACT Going to be more loan, young, untested and also risky ie saha type signings I am afraid!!

moyes is great at bringing in champ players and turning them into top prem players ie lescott, cahill etc however anyone who thinks ledley is in the same bracket for quality is mad!!! ledley is not even in the top 10 championship players. moyes is a great manager but not a miracle worker. for £1-£2mill yes as potential for a good squad player but we are talking £5mill + for him that is ridiculous!!!!

Loved Tommy but not now. Really wanted him to do it last season but we can see his legs have gone. Premiership is totally different now.

Jimmy Bullard would be a great signing for us and is the type of player who would be a legend to us fans because of his "never say die" attitude and passion. I knew him well when he used to play for peterborough united and is definately a joker both on and off the pitch and would fit in well with our team. I agree with other people when they say we need " superstars" and " world class " players but I think we all know thats not going to happen, it would have already if it was going to. Therefore JB would be in that second band of players that moyes would focus on. £3M ????? NOT going to happen for that amount though, remember they have just given us £10mill for AJ - they will want more than that and remember he still has 2 years left on his contract! COYB

NO NO NO!!!!!! Just when we thought it couldnt get any worse -moyes contract wrangle - missing out on all the world class players linked with ie moutinho, arshavin, cana etc - we then turn our attention to players like Alan Smith and Hitzlsperger!!!! This tit is useless!!!!!! Ask any Villa fans what they think of him and they will say the same. Sorry if I sound too negative but this is due to it being one of the longest and most painful pre seasons in years as a blue, still trust in moyes but this is getting painful and that blackburn game is looking scarier by the minute (and they are bad!!!) I would believe the sky sports article over the one claiming its already done for a loan. Would admit he isnt my favourite player and JO was definately the better of the two but now we have lost AJ and his pace I am starting to think this would be a good signing (on a loan) and see how the boy does. Lets be honest here we arent setting the world alight with our signings and all the big name players we have been linked with havent come off so this boy would be something of a coup as in last 2 years he has been linked with some of europes biggest clubs ie fiorentina, inter milan, valencia etc Only 5 days till start of season and I am struggling to see our first XI winning points for the first few games, and we have an easy first few games!!! But still I trust in moyes to get it right, COYB'S!!!!!!

I would also say no to this right now as I think Bainsey is a good player who is still young and english and will improve, and right now we just cannot afford to lose another first team player. If we had brought in a few new players then would accept to give us more cash to strengthen the areas we are more desperate for ie def mid, right back, att mid, and striker. But with our wafer thin squad we need every single body at the moment as looks like it could be a very long season as it stands!!!! COYB'S

I agree Moyes is QUALITY at spotting these boys but problem is we never seem to sign them in time, another club comes in gives the club and player what they want sign them then claim they had been scouting him for a long time!!!! Moyes is not only one of the best managers around but also THE best scout for the other teams in europe!!! If I was him I would charge them all commission!!!!!

M'bia is THAT good and will be a great signing who will fill carsleys boots for years to come!!!! Alan Smith is due at the club this weekend to complete his medical and a press conference is planned for tuesday am FACT. I know this because I know someone in the marketing team at Goodison and he is the one who arranges the press conferences!!! Over the moone when M'bia signs (if!!) but gutted bout Alan Smith!!!!

I'm hearing things like "Good Striker at Leeds" and "Great squad signing"??????? Guys his goal scoring record at leeds was 38 goals in 172 games ( 1 in 4.5 games???) and remember they were an attacking side then and its even worse for his career : 68 goals in 354 games ( 1 in 5.2 games ) !!!!!! The price is not 1.75mill it will be £3mill and he will be picking up £40k - £50k per week on at least a 4 year deal ie £10.4mill in wages so if you all think he is worth close to £14mill then you are mad!!!! Save the 3mill and add it to the AJ money and spend on someone quality, would sooner have 1 or 2 good players than a hundred Alan Smiths!!!! P.S My old man is a NUFC fan and he and his mates are praying we take him off there hands, they hate him up there!!!

I know what your saying, however moyes has made 2 firm bids previously for him before he joined man utd and newcastle. For some reason I think DM likes him and I can see this one happening!!!

Cana is a good player however very aggressive and will possibly have a problem with the scrict refs we have in this country. Take into account the french league is well known for soft refs and he has still had 26 YELLOW CARDS IN LAST 2 YEARS!!! Just worry will spend too long on suspensions rather than playing games. Be great watching him kick the s@*t our of Stevie G tho!!!

This is my first post on this website and I was saving it for something special ie moutinho signing!!!!! However this has forced my hand early! IF WE SIGN THIS LOSER THEN IT REALLY DOES SHOW US AS A CLUB WITH VERY LIMITED FUNDS. Supposed to be pushing for top 4???? this signing wont do that!!!! I do trust in moyes but sometimes i wonder what ideas he has. He is a striker with a poor scoring record, poor on assists, and with a terrible disciplinary record. He is slow, with a poor touch and I cant believe for a second him and the yak will work well together as both of them dont like sweating too much!!!! Please sign moutinho and if we do get a striker then get milito for £8mill as just revealed today thats all we can afford as only getting £8mill for AJ. COYB get signing good players and let smith rot at the geordies!!!
