British tabloid The Sun reports that Everton manager David Moyes dismissed Victor Anichebe from a training session yesterday after the two became embroiled an obscenity-riddled row.
The 20-year-old striker has become increasingly at Goodison Park during the course of the season, as he believes he has been unfairly overlooked for a first-team place.
With Louis Saha, James Vaughan and Yakubu all injured, the young Nigerian expected to receive an extended run in the starting XI, but that has not been the case.
Instead, Moyes has opted to use Tim Cahill up front, a role in which the diminutive Australian midfielder has undoubtedly flourished, leaving Anichebe to sit on the sidelines or fill a gap on the wing.
Matters came to a head towards after the Toffees broke off negotiations with Hull City regarding a loan switch for the Lagos-born forward, who blames his boss for the deal's collapse.
Thus, he was in a belligerent mood when he arrived at Finch Farm the day after the close of the transfer window, and after wrangling with the staff he proceeded to tell Moyes to 'f*** off'.
An unnamed source said, “Victor was already very upset he hadn’t been starting matches.
“It must have been the last straw when the deal failed to go through. He saw it as Everton who were stopping him from leaving.
Refused
“When he turned up for training he flatly refused to get changed and then had a huge row with assistant manager Steve Round.
“The players were on the way out to training when Steve went to get David Moyes.
“When he came in it all kicked off. They were swearing at each other and Victor told him to ‘f*** off’.
“That’s when Moyes told him to leave and asked two members of the medical staff to make sure Victor left the premises.”
This bombshell - given more ammunition by the arrival Brazilian striker Jo, on loan from Manchester City - is the last thing Everton need in the lead-up to their FA Cup replay with Merseyside rivals Liverpool.
