Chelsea has to sell to buy. Give us 10 mil and Lukaku hahaha
Never thought I'd see the day where Chelski has had to do this. I guess financial fair play has it uses after all
-
It would be a massive deal, and Redbull does have deep pockets...
Agree with the article, don't think many evertonians would like the idea of being called 'everton red bulls' -
Deserved to lose yes, but what could've happened if the ref was a bit more consistent!!!!

Welcome

Agree with most of the above comments.
Loved the passion, but he didn't really have much behind it to back him up.

Loving the articles Zoo. Hopefully you'll be able to keep them coming, even with your lack of time

Reckon he'd be competition Barkley in the attacking midfielder role.
Different type of player too. Doesn't have the change of pace Barkley has, but doesn't mind a dribble and has wayyyyy better ball distribution.
-
A bit late to the party but....
Is it too much to hope Everton have a chance of signing him?
-
Looking forward to seeing Kone get a start. And having Gibbo up and running is always a good thing.
Here's hoping Jelavic being dropped will give him a kick up the backside and back to his one touch goalscoring ways! -
Baines purely for the 2 absolute beauties he scored.
That said, without Lukaku I doubt the freekicks would have happened.Props to Martinez to make those changes at half time!

Agree with above few comments.
Wasn't that excited when I heard Barry was coming our way, but the game against Chelsea sure made me change my mind fast.
The most intelligent midfielder we've had in a long while, plus the added bonus of being able to get away with some sneaky fouls to slow the game down.

No thanks. And also to any other player in the A-League.
Being slightly patriotic here, but not all players to come out of Australia are complete rubbish. What does hold back the league though is the level of coaching throughout all levels in aussie football.
I reckon he would be a brilliant (pun intended) acquisition. Been watching him play for Newcastle Jets as well as the AUS U-20s, seems like a player with promise, especially if given a free role just ahead of midfield.

BK better not let go of the best LB in the prem for a paltry 12m
Anything below 20m is a joke IMO.
Problem is that there's no real replacement for Baines within the squad. Oviedo looks alright, but I doubt we'd see him race down the left wing the way Bainsey does for a full game.
-
Hope he comes.
Reminds me of Vic, if he was like 30kg lighter and could run channels.
-
Anyone know how bum his knee actually is? Was kinda disappointed when the deal fell through last time.
Surely its not like a Ledley King situation?
-
Totally agree.
Not knocking Martinez yet, still have to wait and see whether the signings flop or go on to be gold.
Moyes wasn't quick, but its not like he ever had the money to spend willy nilly.
I agree , its quite pathetic really
Do people not think that just maybe the reason we've moved early in the transfer market is because there is money there without us having to sell first for once?
What with the increased TV money and the wages freed up by Neville , Moyes and Mucha leaving its freed up a fair bit of cash

Read this while having my morning coffee - nearly spat in surprise at my laptop!
Been a long time since we've signed someone that excites me. Watching Deulofeu during the U20 WC was a pleasure in itself, though his decisions sometimes are lacking.

Glad Gueye has gone, he's never going to make it here so the sooner he leaves the better. Does anyone know if this loan comes with an option to buy? Or have we loaned him out purely for experiance with the hope that he'll improve?
I wouldn't go that far. Liked the look of him in the few games he had.
Did go missing for large parts of games though, but I am comparing him to how much Bainaar dominate the left.
-
Would've scored if not for Guzan. Thought he did well to stop what he did - the goals he really had no chance.
-
Any thoughts on the cause of his downturn though? I've always kinda seen Heitinga as a ball playing centreback and would fit the expansive attacking passing game Everton has been trying to do (kinda like Vermaelen).
Instead, these days I shit bricks every time the ball goes anywhere near him :S
-
not sure how much he can be blamed today, he was asked to mark one of the biggest and strongest strikers in the EPL, who also has much more pace than him (not that that is hard). Why Moyes told him to mark Beneteke is a mystery
I'll give you that one. Would've though Distin was the man to take on Beneteke.

Partly ranting after the villa game so bear with me here.
I think it's evident from the last few games the Heitinga isn't up to his lofty standards of the last few seasons. For most of the season, and in particular for the last few games, he's been guilty of some absolutely atrocious defending (and thats not even mentioning this evening).
Question is, what's caused this ridiculous drop in form? Completely surprised he hasn't been benched a la Jelavic.
Howard's beard?

I reckon he should be allowed to keep growing it until he has a shocker of a game.
A good run of form for the team aside, who wouldn't want to see 'Gandalf' Howard at the end of the season? :D
