  1. yikes, looks like there are some really tough games out there! the good thing about villa going out is we should be on Channel 5 alot more now!

I say bring on any of them! i can see this being a more luctrative system than the old uefa cup!

I completely agree. Look at the teams, compared to two years ago the competition is at an entirely different level. i mean, had we made it past Fiorentina...I would think we'd have been favorites to make the final with bayern. now, I'd be happy to see us progress to the last 16 or 8.

  2. Looks like the English clubs had quite the luck in the CL draw this year. I mean, ManU plays Besitkas, CSKA and Wolfsburg; they've got to be favorites to not drop a point. I'm hoping the luck continues our way, I mean after our draws in the FA Cup last year one would think we're due a few easier teams.

  3. Straight from the Moyesiah`s mouth....taken from OS

David Moyes hopes to make at least four signings ahead of Monday's transfer deadline.

The Everton manager secured his second major summer acquisition on Tuesday, tieing up a five-year deal for Russian international midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.

And, speaking at a press conference ahead of Thursday's Europa League play off second leg against Sigma Olomouc, Moyes said he is confident Everton are making headway in their pursuit of additional new faces.

"I would be disappointed if we didn't get at least four, maybe more," he said.

"We've made quite a bit of progress I feel and maybe I'll be able to announce something shortly, but not yet.

"The job is to try and make it [the squad] stronger every year and that's what we'll aim to do."

    :thumbsup_still:

If this is true...IT IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AMALGAMATION OF WORDS I'VE SEEN THIS SUMMER!! :D:D :speak_cool:

  4. wishful thinking there. knowing everton, we probably had zero money to spend before lescott, although i hope i'm wrong. but if i'm right then even if we make the three transfers mentioned above, we could still sign someone like huth or senderos for about £5M, or if we could somehow scrounge up another million or two we could get taylor. all in all i'd be very happy with those transfers

we did bid 5 on naughton AND 9 on Defour, so we must have had some money before the Lescott sale. I think hangeland would be a solid start to improving the back line. him a RW and RB and we could be really really strong.

  5. what i don't understand is how it is that we rejected his transfer request, and thus has a reason to ask us for a bonus.

i mean, it's not like he put in a transfer request and then we went on to reject another bid from city.

we actually accepted the first bid to come in from city after his transfer request, so i'm kind of unclear.

    someone wanna help me out??

I think he expected us to pressure City to buy him after the request, something like a loan shark or used car salesman. honestly though, he can flook off. after this, I actually have less respect for lescott than I do for hughes. Wish I could be at Goodison for when we play citeh this season, would like to give him a nice little welcome back, ha. Ass.

  6. Dream on lad

As for the situation, I think we will be alright, we know now that we actually have some money to spend (whether it's a lot or not is another question), I can see some signings happening in the next couple of days.

Couple of days? you mean like the next 48 hours or so? Ha. I'll be happy when some of this paper talk turns into a player putting pen to paper and showing off his new numbers for us. Otherwise, i'm expecting nothing at this point.

  7. Agreed with Jonny , same last year to be honest as well, just got to keep our heads up and hey, if it's like this still in a few month's time, go nuts.

Ha, that's what a bunch of people were saying about this transfer window. It's been a few months. I'm nuts.

about Burnley, wasn't able to watch the match (woke up on a mountain this morning), were we as depressing as the Arse game?

And seriously those of us who are concerned have a legit reason; we've NEVER lost our first 2 games ever...EVER. Bottom of the table is not acceptable even two games in.

    johnny,

I don't know what the people who were hailing King Louis and Rodders were thinking. Sure good performance, but remember that Sigma probably would be mid-table in the Championship, may as well have beat Sheffeild. It was a good win, but a lot of sloppy play that against harsher opposition is exposed (yes I think Burnley is better than Sigma!!!). So, yes I'm worried. If our boys keep playing like shit I could do in my back yard, well I think we may find ourselves as relegation fodder once more. Here's hoping injury returns, new players and DM can get this poor poor poor form sorted out.

  8. I would be looking to leave.

We can't keep our best players and even before we lost lescott we are too inept to build quality on top of what we have. We can't even get lower quality squad players. What kind of ambition have the board shown over the last two summers. I am disgusted by our whole club stucture at the moment and feel it's a matter of months until we are delegation candidates again

    What's "DELEGATION"? :lol::lol:
