  1. you're right...sort of. you can't honestly believe that we can break the top 4 with as skint of a budget as we have. yeah, we don't need to drop $25 mil on a player (i can't think of any I'd have on our squad who cost that much) but you have to be able to buy someone...anything. and as this and previous windows have shown, we're absolutely broke.

I've said it before, but again...what we need to be fighting for CL year in and out is 25-30mil a summer and moyes to stick around. If we had that money, i'd argue it a sure thing we're in CL the next year. Otherwise, it'll take an incredible amount of luck and brilliant form to get close.

  2. If he isnt good enough for the USA squad he isnt good enough for us

It's not that he's not good enough. He's probably our brightest spot in the midfield. He hasn't played much for Benfica so Bradley (being the idiot he is) won't ever give him a chance. Even during the Gold Cup Bradley only gave him one start. Adu should have played every game in the Gold Cup and come on at least once during the Confed. The reason he's not playing for the US is on Bradley's end...not because he hasn't got the skill.

  3. I know some of you love the new kit. I don't think it's awful, but as I'm trying to decide which kit I should get (I'm leaning towards the away) I took a peek at the training tops. Honestly I think the straight blue training shirt would be far better as the home strip. Anyone else keen to see the boys ditch the man bra?

  4. Perhaps I'm now beating a dead horse into the ground...but, with Sporting looking as if they will take an early bow from CL could Moyes renew his interest in Moutinho? Especially if (and I hope its a big IF) Lescott is on the way out. I'm sure his fee will go down once Sporting exits CL and they should be more willing to sell a player they kept for the CL. Thoughts?

  5. Some (including myself) say that one of Moyes failings has been the lack of opportunities given to the youth.

    WHAT?!?! You're wrong...just wrong. Gosling (19), Wallace(17), Baxter(17), Rodders(18), Agard(19?), Anichebe(20).

Nope...Moyesie NEVER EVER plays youngsters...ever.

  6. This guy has got a few bolts loose. I can't see us finishing below Spurs or Sunderland, but who knows. I don't think we'll be top 4...maybe 5th or 6th again...I could see Citeh slipping into 4th and the Gooners dropping to 6th. But the who rant is a silly one. If we can manage to scrape through the season with no major injuries, our squad will be stronger...esp once jags is back. and now that we have some strikers...Jo might be key this year.

  7. I hope through all the paper talk that moyes plays the same card SAF played with CR7 (now 9?) last year. Tell him straight forward that he has one more year to go, then if he (j-lo) still wants to leave next summer he can. I think in a year Lescott's value will go up, Moyes will be able to find (either inside the club or through the transfer market) a replacement for him, and who knows, maybe he'll see City suck balls this year and decide Goodison was always the best place for him. That's how I'd play my hand if I were DM.
