I think the "personal terms could be a stumbling block" will be a big issue. Everton will offer him less money than he's on at Newcastle, he'll want more, there'll be a stand off and then another club will meet the valuation, meet his personal terms and that will be the end of that.
Hope I'm wrong but that just seems to be the Everton way, live in the dark ages, assume that all players think it is a privelige to play for the club and then get gazumped by other teams.
Would really like to see this lad here, hopefully my reverse psychology will work
Correct, but while some fans give their blind support to Kenwright this will not change until the running of the club changes. It's a dangerous strategy, especially when many clubs are willing to go that extra step to sign players ala Naughton and Delph.

Am I missing something? Where in that article does it say that it may be no players?
Moyes said he wishes the deadline could be pushed back as he is not sure if signings will come off, or words to that effect.

This article disagrees with you mike.

I'm confused, first it was 48 hours but now it may be no players?
Only at Everton.

Who wants to bet it doesn't happen? Players don't play, especially in Europe if they are to be transferred. If it doesn't happen then the board must be held to account, THIS TIME!
-
Has to be Rodwell, exceptional talent. Let's hope he remains for many years to come, the next Peter Reid.
-
Exactly what the fans deserved after the slaughter on Saturday, think Saha and Jo partnership with Rodwell and Felliani in the middle is the way to go against Burnley. And best of all Lescott wasn't involved, adios!
-
Goose has looked pretty good so far.
Him and Jo look good, but we are four nil up and the oppo look defeated.
-
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL King Louis, what a player. Where are the sell him for 8 mill clan now?
New contract please.
-
Rodders is doing the job we paid £15m for Felli for.
He looks a much better player than the 'Fro.
Oh dear, calm down lad. This is one game, and while Rodwell is an exceptional talent Felliani produced last season. Let's not get too over-the top, there's still lots to improve.
-
Steven who?
Who?
-
Makes Moyes decision to not play Rodwell instead of Lescott last weekend even more bizarre.

From, Sky Sports as the link refuses to work:
Sky Sports News sources understand that Everton are in talks to sign Newcastle defender Steven Taylor.
Taylor's future has been the subject of speculation since the Magpies were relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season.
A number of top-flight clubs, including Aston Villa, Fulham and Arsenal, have been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old.
But it appears Everton have made the first move as they look to bolster their defensive options.
The Toffees are believed to have watched Taylor in action on Wednesday as Newcastle beat Sheffield Wednesday 1-0 at St James' Park.
Negotiations have now begun between the two clubs although they are yet to agree on a transfer fee.
Everton's pursuit of Taylor has only added to the uncertainty surrounding Joleon Lescott, who is wanted by Manchester City and has asked to leave Goodison Park.
David Moyes has stressed that he still does not want to sell Lescott despite leaving him out of the squad for Thursday's Europa League play-off against Sigma Olomouc.
Could it possibly be?
-
This should be the future, Neville in defence and Rodwell in midfield. Great strike, and forget Lescott as he is history!
-
And who said Saha and Felliani should be sold?
-
He's in the crowd at Goodison tonight, looking relaxed and having a laugh with the Yak. Read into that what you like .
The nerve of the man to even dare show his face, the cheek!

Didn't say anything about his professional attitude. Quite right nothing to argue about, i enjoyed our conversation. Good day sir? I doubt it my wife is 8 months pregnant and ill, my 6 year old is off school and my 18 month old is well an 18 month old.
Well congrats with the pregnancy, and hope it all goes well. As for the children it's all fun and games in the end, and your blessed to have them (even though it may not feel like it at times). Bet our parents put up with worse, lol.
-
Why do i have to explain professional attitude, i didn't say anything about it, you did. Proof of a bad attitude, what about getting pissed and smashing up the car he was driving, if he thinks that is ok then there is something wrong with his attitude. Now i've explained that please could you explain from the example i have if that is having the right attitude or not. Thank you
Certainly. Cahill was considered having a bad attitude for crossing his hands during a match, involving himself in a bar room brawl back in Oz, yet week in and out never misses a training session or rocks the boat in public at this club. Gerrard dire I say beat up a defenseless guy, been done for speeding and scraps with photographers I think, yet never (apart from when he wanted to leave) rocks the boat in public at his club. Just because Bentley did that, doesn't mean his professional attitude to football is compromised, as I'm yet to see proof of that.
Anyway nothing to argue about, so have a good day sir!

Though Kipper is a xenophobic/Daily Star type website, one email really grabbed my attention. I happen to agree that loyalty to the club yet demanding more from it shouldn't be confused with blind optimism and pledging allegiance to Kenwright or else, we deserve a lot more than we are currently getting from the pitch to the board room.
Discuss....

Well, Unai Emery(our coach) yesterday at night: "Banega will stay in Valencia."
And local press has said that Valencia deny all types of agreement for the argentinian player.
It seems that he will play for us definitively. Well, that loan agreemen was strange, Banega, as I said before, has been by far our best player in this preseason.
Sugar, Honey, Ice, Tea!
What the hell is going on?
-
Espanyol is mentioned, not Everton Romey.
-
The curse of Wiki strikes again.............
Lol!
-
Being arrogant shows he doesn't have the best attitude, thank you for answering you own question
No, you're just trying too hard to prove a point. Arrogance in his personality shows high/over confidence, a professional attitude means he/she doesn't merge the two. Now I've explained that, please explain yourself? Proof that he has a bad attitude?

Also known to play right-back on occasion, was a flippant remark but true none the less.

I'll go with that, though a lot of clubs will chase Distan as he's cheap as chips.
