  1. We see with our own eyes every how risk adverse and defensive Moyes is - he won't even play two strikers, and likes subbing on Dustbin for the one that is left on the pitch...

Bearing this in mind can you really see him giving in his safe ticket here, packing it all up to go and live in Spain with a club that is historically been quite unstable (Yes, Jesus 'Mad as a bottle of crisps' Gil, I'm thinking of you). Plus, the current Atlético President is a silvery haired, bespectacled famous Cinema Producer - can't see Moyes falling for a luvvy like that...

I hope he stays and I'm sure he will. He may move to another UK club, but a move at Atlético? Would be totally out of character for the man.

  2. BBC Gossip Column says that Dogleash is personally chirpsing with Donnelly in order to bring him to Anfield for 100k. Part of me says that even this relatively minimal outlay for a good prospect we badly need is beyond our reach. The other half says given the chance to choose he'll surely go for the shite over us and Swansea. I'll be really pished off if they gazzump us, and also that it's probably our dithering could let them do it.

Obviously, I know cock all about him, but he seems to be a decent prospect (I know that his current league is way of the PL) - anyone know if he is really any good. Even if he did come of course, very little chance that Moyes would play him ahead of Saha or Cahill anyway. I just hope the reds don't get him - I'm spiteful like that.

  3. Anyone else see this from BBC Gossip Column on wednesday? I suppose it's good that he wants to play, and also that he trusts moyes.

'Talented Everton youngster Ross Barkley, 18, has admitted he is frustrated with his lack of first-team opportunities at Goodison Park but says he still has faith in manager David Moyes to oversee his development.'

    Echo article. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/everton-fc/everton-fc-news/2011/12/13/everton-fc-prospect-ross-barkley-trusts-david-moyes-to-guide-him-into-efc-first-team-when-time-is-right-100252-29942967/

But how long before he gets fed with being behind lacklustre Cahill, Bily et al when he's arguably performed better than them when he has been given the opportunity.

Article also says he will sign a contract this week. Nice early Xmas pressie for him and the team.

  4. My favorite Unsworth memory was the 1995 FA Cup quarter final against Newcastle. Watching him and David Watson working in tandem during that match still gives me the horn. It was a beautiful thing. We could do with a few Unsworths in the team today. I also remember that match for Ferguson taking Darren Peacock apart with a few elbows/knee combos.

  5. i think that hibbert has been solid too. even if he gets beat for pace, he seems alert enough to been in the right place at the right time. can't believe that the midfield are playing so deep with no pressure and keep letting stroll right through. even felli is a bit guilty of that, though neville is the worst culprit - got me thinking that they must have been told to do that by Moyes... saha has shown decent touches, but he has terrible service, and no support so he gets the ball deep and has 3 on him if he gets the ball. 0-0 would be a massive result if it stays like this
