  1. Got to be Heits for me. Think Baines is too quiet. Imagine Johnny shouting from the back.....

Jags was too?? Thought he came through the Blades' academy?

True! I always forget Heitinga. He's a great player and a has an absolute lion's heart, but we just needed to turn his heart from Ajax Red to Everton Blue. There's nothing like his fist pumping and hell-raising to get the Goodison crowd going!

  2. No, but if he lives in London then that means he's a long way away from me. He is an asshole too, that's obvious to everyone. Even the Manchester United fans hated him when he played for them because of his attitude.

It would be a disgrace to replace someone like Baines with Richardson, both ability and attitude wise.

  3. Lot of respect for Baines. Think he is a great honest lad, wish there were more players like him around.

This. He's as classy, loyal, dedicated, and honest of a player as they come that isn't a homegrown product like Hibbert or Osman.

Maybe Baines would make a good captain when Neville retires or leaves? I know Jags seems to be the next captain in waiting, but maybe Baines is worth consideration?

Probs get a few strange looks but if Jela keeps it up, I think Champs league is a real possibility next year. Going to be the toughest year to get there though, as Chelsea have strengthened really well.

If we maintain the form that we had the second half of last year, which probably won't happen for an entire year... I think Europa is a definite possibility if we stay healthy and Jelavic scores consistently throughout the season. Champions League is a little steep for us I think.

  5. West Ham sounds more his level for me, with them just coming up he'll be getting quite a lot of field action and he'll probably end up doing reasonably well for them. With him being in London it means he is a few hundred miles away from my hometown too which is always a big bonus. I hope Sam snaps him up because as I've said earlier in the thread I think he's a right penis and I'd be fuming if we even came close to signing him.

So he lives or is from the same town that you're from? And I take it that he's an asshole?

  6. Hargreaves was class before the injuries, just not worth the risk of a weekly wage. I'd like to see Owen here as well just because his position is second to non, he could teach the kids a thing or two as well, but again risky to give him a good wage. Woodgate was just as a 4th choice cb, as we've been getting linked with centre backs lately, would prefer Cuellar who I have mentioned earlier in the thread.

Sorry, Ive misspelled Dunn. Meant to be B'burns David Dunn.

I will agree that Hargreaves was a great player before being hit by all the injuries! Do you think Duffy is good enough to be the 4th Centerback? Whatever mate, I appreciate you being willing to toss out names, I do it all the time! I definitely see the value in squad players, especially when you are as thin/small as us!

  7. will you just stop naming poor players come on there all far to old or will want high wages, not only that non of them would improve the squad bench players at best you must no by now we need better players not just players to fill the bench.

Hargreaves wouldn't make sense, same for Centerbacks so no need for Dunne or Woodgate. However I'd take Owen on low wages or pay as you play because Vic ain't exactly a great option for our off the bench striker. Vellios is the only one that gets me excited and he's still young and raw!

  8. Okay 1st, Donovan wouldn't be coming this summer permanently. He'd be coming when his contract ends with LA Galaxy. Is he going to lose some of his game with age? Yes, but he's better than anyone we've got currently playing Right Wing. I wouldn't dish out $10m for him, but I think he'd be a pretty good free transfer. Coleman will never make it as a right winger, not enough skill. He needs to work on the defensive part of his game and hopefully he can turn into a halfway decent rightback. Gueye is more suited for the left and central parts of the pitch, and doesn't have a good enough right foot to play on the right side.

  9. Would love him here. Won't happen.

Interestingly enough, on one of my career modes in FIFA 12, Everton picked up Barnetta after a season or two (I wasn't EFC). Ironically enough, Harry Redknapp has purchased four players over the years from EFC (Rodwell, Shawcross who became an EFC player, Coleman, and one other).

  10. I would love to see Donovan back for another loan spell or even permanent. But I am biased in that I like Americans in the Prem league. He has some good years left. He fits well with the squad.

I'd have him back for sure! I hope he still wants to come her permanently when his Galaxy contract ends.
