No. Just not good enough, even though I've heard that he's a hard-worker.
-
If Mucha is going I wouldnt mind seeing Hahnaman (sp?) just released by Wolves come in as our 2nd keeper. I think he is pretty decent and will probably be happy enough to be a bench warmer, yet a proven Keeper should something happen to Howard.
A lot of the names on here are pretty poor, and I would much rather we just kept Yakubu then get in any of these strikers as there wont be too much difference in the wages. Id have klose in a heartbeat though!
That's be funny. Marcus is America's #2, so we'd have America's top 2 keepers. Just wondering, are Garbutt or Bidwell anywhere close to being able to be a decent backup to Baines? Do we know of any cheap/free Leftbacks available?
-
No chance. But for the fun of it, Holloway. I'd take him in a heartbeat.
-
Elmander's going to Turkey. And I hope the other 3 are you just taking the piss.
Is the opinion on John Carew that bad? These are FREE transfers, we are unlikely to bring in someone AMAZING. I just think that maybe Kewell or Carew could bring something to the club, and for free, they are worth a try.
-
$25m? Yes. $20m? Maybe. $15m? No.
-
2.5m? Hell yes. Good luck to him, and I truly hope that he can make something of himself in the Premier League.
-
What about John Carew? He wouldn't be too bad of a signing considering he'd be free. Maybe Elmander? Maybe Lucas Neill or Harry Kewell?
-
How about an award for worst poster? I would certainly win that!

I don't get why there's people who trash Howard on here. He's made a few mistakes, but most of the time he is very solid. Of the many things this team needs, a new keeper isn't one of them.
-
I agree, I think Howard is in the top 4 or 5 in the Premiership
I would say that there is only Joe Hart, Rienna, Van der Sar (whos retiring anyway) and well nobody else springs to mind actually, who are better
+1. I think Howard's been solid for us, and it's not like we could do much better.

Well done today guys, and cheers for the responses.
Thanks. I wish you all well for the rest of the season.

He could still go and play in the MLS when hes 38, so weve got him for a few years yet!
Yeah. I wouldn't mind him ending his career in the MLS, but I want him to be here for the rest of the prime of his career.
-
I hope he is true to his word. Every time he is interviewed by the American media, they always ask him about coming back to the MLS and he always seems very open and interested to the idea. We'll see.

just wondering, how did he do with Atlanta Hawks? Did he make them a success of them or were they already a sucess?
This is an ironic connection considering I am from Atlanta. When ATL Spirit took over the Hawks, Atlanta was one of the worst franchises in the NBA. Since then, they have become a playoff team, and are very good. I am not a huge basketball fan so I do not follow the Hawks very closely, but they have gotten a lot better since ATL Spirit took over. The Hockey team that Spirit owns (Atlanta Thrashers) is a very weak franchise. They have had very few good years and their attendance is awful. Recently, it came out that Spirit will either try to move the team to another city, or sell it. To be fair, any Hockey team in Atlanta isn't going to be very well supported, as the South is not a big place for hockey (Hockey is far behind Baseball, American Football, Basketball in the South)

I wish him good luck in moving on. He was good to us for many years, I hope he finds a place where he can finish his career.
-
God help us.
-
Ok, if he can put together 2-3 more successful efforts for the reserves, I think he deserves a bench spot for a few matches for the senior side, and hopefully a couple of appearances. He seems like he came in and has already been quite successful. I hope this turns out to be one of Moyes' wonder buys. If Vellios is halfway successful, this could turn out to be like Coleman, who we paid next to nothing for and we got him from a league that is probably in the third tier quality wise as European football is concerned.
-
Dont see why he shouldnt get a run out this season, what harm would it do? Last game of the season if we cant gain any places give them all a go!
If only we didn't have Chelsea for our last match.
-
He's hardly highly rated so getting anything for him will be good.
I didn't think he was supposed to be anybody special but the article made him sound like he is supposed to be a pretty good player. But if he's 19 and is making a significant contribution to a good Championship squad, maybe he could get a run here?
-
I remember someone here saying that he had a falling out with Moyes according to Gueye's facebook.
-
I doubt we could afford him even if this is true (which I doubt it is). Does anyone know how much Dortmund are asking? We'd probably have to sell Rodwell or Fellaini for this move.

If we can get a decent amount of $ for him, I'd take it.

Tim. Baines is second and Heitinga is 3rd just for the shoulder bump

I agree with you, and I'd be willing to part with him for 3.5-4m. Oh, and no problem with you English, it's certainly better than my Turkish.
