  1. Genuine enquiry guys, so please no flak, but does anyone have the slightest idea as to why, season after season, we are suffering so much with injuries? I know all teams have injuries to key players at some stage, but we seem to be plagued with them. Is it something to do with the fitness or training methods? I for one, have no idea, but some of the more knowledgeable amongst you may have some theories at least.

  2. My son has paid well over £125 to watch this game with travel etc, I may get slated for this, but what a crock of shit!! a disgrace to the shirt, just the sort of performance to attract new players to the club!!! totally gutted, do the decent thing everton players, give your wages this week to charity!!

  3. Lets be honest, Lescott does not give a F/F about Everton, or what they have done for him, and I guess neither would I if another company offered to treble my wages, however, Football is not just a business, and players are not just employees, we, the fans, through the money we pay for games, merchandise etc, make them what they are!

He does not want to stay, so what’s the point of keeping him? He is just greedy like the rest of them, with zero loyalty to his club. Let him go to Mercenary City F.C., yes, we will miss him, and it will be difficult to replace him, especially in 4 days, but we will survive, we always do, we are Everton F.C. and we, unlike Lescott, will still be here in years to come! C.O.Y.B.

  4. If we got Onuhoa however you spell his name and something in the 15-20 mill range i'd be happy that would mean we only have to buy cover and it does give us a little money to spend without having to take out more loans

just hear on SSN Onuhoa just signed 5 year deal at Man SHitty, another one bites the dust!

Oi reporter, think before you publish crap

Andy Johnson has responded angrily to media reports he is unhappy at Everton.

A story in today's Daily Express claims the England international is homesick and is keen for a summer return to the Home Counties, with West Ham cited as being interested.

But Johnson has wasted no time in rubbishing the report, issuing the strongest statement possible to make it clear he is happy at Everton.

He told evertonfc.com exclusively: "If I could sign here for the rest of my career I would do it tomorrow.

"I am more than happy here, I love the club, the fans and the lads in the dressing room. I am sure the fans can see how much I love it here in my football but I want to make it clear there is no truth in this report - I am loving being an Everton player and I regard it as a great honour to put that blue shirt on every week.

"I would love to think I will still be here in seven years."

Johnson has been a huge hit at Goodison, netting 11 goals this term following his £8.6m summer arrival from Crystal Palace.

The Blues' top scorer is hotly tipped to lead England's attack alongside Wayne Rooney in the forthcoming Euro 2008 qualifiers against Israel and Andorra later this month.

  6. As I said, probably paper talk. below latest rumours from BBC

Celtic striker Kenny Miller is ready to return to England next season, with Everton leading the chase for the Scot. (Daily Mirror)

Everton and England striker Andy Johnson is keen to return to London as he is homesick. (Daily Express)

Portsmouth have joined Manchester United, Aston Villa and Everton have joined the race to sign Wolves' star Michael Kightly. (Daily Mail)

  7. It is probably just papertalk, however, I have just seen on the newspaper roundup on SSN, 'AJ ROCKS EVERTON' thinking it was another injury, I watched further and it was paper headline(dont know which one) saying AJ was home sick and wanted to move back to a london club!

  8. Just read in the News of the World(yeh, I know, but some good boobs now and then!)

'Nuno Valente has lauched a stinging attack on Everton, claiming they lack

    ambition.

The portugal defender 31, who kicks off his world cup campaign today against angola said '' I have got a contract with Everton and everything indicates I will continue for another year, but if another offer appears I can change.Id like to play for a more ambitious club''

    Wanker!!

  9. Have just read this on Times website. seems to me BK/DM are up to old tricks, make a lot of noise about tranfers they know are not going to happen. once again, no bloody money available. what happened to the money we had to buy Owen last season? Yes, I know, it never existed!

Everton were relieved to get in on the act after Simon Jordan, the Palace chairman, had appeared reluctant to accept their offer. They had a £7.25 million bid rejected last week, and have matched the £8.5 million fee offered by Bolton and Wigan, but the uncertainty stems from the structure of the deal proposed by the board at Goodison Park. Whereas Wigan have offered the majority of the fee up front and Bolton within 12 months, the Merseyside club have asked to stagger payments over the next two seasons because of a lack of available funds.

Now, however, Everton can be cautiously optimistic about their chances of signing Johnson, particularly as the 25-year-old is believed to have misgivings about joining either Bolton or Wigan. Allardyce and Paul Jewell, his Wigan counterpart, will attempt to convince him that their respective clubs can help him fulfil his international aspirations, but Everton remain hopeful that he will reject both , which would leave them as clear favourites.

In terms of wages, Bolton and Everton share concerns that they might be unable to match the terms on offer at Wigan, whose multimillionaire owner, Dave Whelan, is expected to guarantee Johnson more than £45,000 a week plus bonuses.

If it comes down to more than money, however, Everton are hopeful that their higher profile has the strongest attraction, while Allardyce believes that his powers of persuasion will prove decisive when he meets the player.

  10. The new Wayne Rooney?? Better lock up your grannies than TTrs!

little snippet from THE PEOPLE website.

SCOTT TO BE BLUES NEW ROO

    By Alan Nixon

Everton are trying to sign the next Wayne Rooney - teenage striker Scott Spencer from Oldham's highly-rated academy.

Speedy and strong Spencer has been rattling in goals for the Latics' youth sides and has scored over 20 times this season.

Now Everton are close to agreeing a fee and will have to pay as much as £200,000 down plus instalments for the 16-year-old starlet.

Bolton have also been trying to sign Spencer for months, but Everton think the Manchester-born forward is the best around at his age and will pay a decent price to get him.

Oldham discovered Micah Richards before losing him to Manchester City.
