  1. With Moyes' team to be fair though. Let's not forget that too quickly.
  2. Oviedo's barber must have fucked off for diner half way through and forgotten to come back.
  3. All sounds Irish to me lad.
  4. Don't think much of his corners.
  5. Awesome ball in from the young Spaniard.
  6. Barkley looks like he's starting to find confidence.
  7. It will once we go behind against a Prem team, especially if our expectations rise again. I don't see this attractive football that everybody sees though. I see a lot of passing, and a lot of nothing at the end of it. People forget that under Moyes we were playing some fantastic stuff in the last season or 2, but our strikers were not scoring. I don't think our football is as good at the moment as our best football under Moyes. Time will tell once the table is worth analysing.
  8. Wasn't Kone playing wide right at Wigan ?
  9. He seems to have a heavy first touch. It looked like he had lost the ball for a moment. Still a lot of work to do here. We might want to consider just bringing a big gun on to make sure.
  10. Kone should have buried that. :dont know:
  11. All able to see the game ?
  12. Lol, hardly chaos. We're just making sure our members feel safe to walk the TT streets - nothing to see here.
  13. Now Mcnulty saying Everton stance is still not for sale.
  14. Phil Mcnulty reckons the lad is a reliable and dependable source, so as far as I'm concerned, Baines is on his way. It's just a question of how much. This was all agreed long ago guys. You can tell from the presentation of Martinez that we were confident of funds, but I'm annoyed with Moyes, as he has the money now to buy any player, and comes in for players from Everton, a club already on it's arse, and he is now bargaining with us over our best players. Haf can have him now.
  15. Congratulations on your Premier League season first of all mate. Result wise, haven't a clue, as you are an unknown entity, and after last week seem to have gotten the taste for things, but it will depend on which Everton team turn up. Last season, I think we would have been too good for you, but we are in a period of change, and a little vulnerable, so it could go either way. Enjoy it regardless, and good luck for the season.
  16. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heysel_Stadium_disaster#Juventus_1.E2.80.930_Liverpool In 1985, 39 lives were lost and hundreds injured during a Liverpool v Juventus cup final at the Heysel Stadium after crowd trouble. I don't really want to go over it in detail mate, as it just brings up bad memories, but you can get the jist of it yourself here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/newsid_6560000/newsid_6568700/6568777.stm?bw=bb&mp=wm&news=1&ms3=6&ms_javascript=true&bbcws=2 As a result, English teams received a long ban from European competition, which unfortunately for us, was at a time in our history when it was Everton who were the top English team, and with it, we lost the opportunity to push on as a result. Be warned though that it's live commentary and a little disturbing. Google will tell you the rest with a quick search.
  17. Obviously Liverpool are our main source of rivalry. Before the Premiership started, Liverpool were by far the best team in the land, enjoying the same kind of dominance as United do today. What made things worse was when Everton had a good period during the 80's, only for Liverpool fans to get us kicked out of Europe. This hurt us badly and our team made their separate ways, but now Liverpool are much more within reach, so the rivalry is probably as big now as it ever was. Because Liverpool and Manchester are the 2 biggest Cities in the North West of England, there are cross city rivalries too. Liverpool and United in particular, being the top 2 clubs in the country historically, but when ever we play Manchester United or Manchester City, it's generally a big game to win. Liverpool, United, and City are now our biggest games of the season in terms of local pride. In terms of challenging for the spoils in the Premier League, there becomes a different kind of rivalry, as England tends to be split up into North West (as above), North East (Newcastle, Sunderland, Hull etc), The Midlands, containing such teams as West Bromwich Albion, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham City, Aston Villa etc, and the South East (London), such as your Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea, West Ham, Fulham etc. We tend not to worry too much about the North East sides, or the East / West Midlands sides in terms of rivalry, although Villa would stand out historically as a huge team, but the teams in the South, more so the London area, than anywhere else become a want to win game again, as not only is there a big North South divide in this country, but the main football powers have always been from the cities of Liverpool, Manchester, and London. Of the London sides, we are probably more determined to enjoy victory over Arsenal, more than the others, as they are the best historically of the Southern sides. Before the bankrolling of teams, I'd say the biggest teams in the country were Liverpool, United, and then Arsenal. Everton would probably come next in terms of league titles, and although Villa and Sunderland have won many titles between them, they tend to be less successful since the war. With the bankrolling of teams, Chelsea and Manchester City, and probably even Spurs have pretty much paid for success with big wallets, so beating them is also satisfying because of that. My own personal 'biggest' matches are Liverpool and United.
  18. Did you see the way I did the water thing? I had done it differently too. I'll see if I can find it. (is my font large at the mo btw?)
  19. Well flaming said mate. Well, apart from referring to me as 'The other' but I actually respect you for having the balls to say what you believe to be right, instead of turning a blind eye like some. Well done ! Those who have never been bullied, or singled out, will never know what it feels like, but those who know, would never stand back and allow it to happen to somebody else. I think Brett Angel is an honest poster with great humour. Give him a break.
  20. For me, the Mersey is the symbol of Liverpool, hence why I thought we should use it before the reds do.
