In fairness it says appearances, not starts.
according to evertonfc.com he played in 36 (18 from the bench) and scored 10.
Oh no he didn't !

I errr ..... found this

Totally agree. But hopefully they can still for a formidable trio.
Also, *breath
* Form
All the players mentioned have to prove themselves, but they'll at least get the opportunity. Fingers crossed. Glad you're excited.

Are there 'any' clubs who aren't in the grips of the banks?
I'd be quite happy to get rid of the debt, and not pile more debt on, so that the club are healthy for generations to come.
As long as we aren't relegated, I don't mind Moyes selling a few big names, starting with the older players. I'm confident within a few years he would have us back competing again through good scouting and academy fruitions.
I'd like our average team age to be early 20's too.

From yesterday and the mirror. But why would he want to go? In theory, if we sold him for £4million it may be enough to finance a move for Nicky Maynard at bristol City, rumours are 3-4mill would be enough but City only want to sell to a Prem club. However he is unproven at this level but does look very good in the Championship.
Leicester have apparently made a £3mill bid for West Broms Simon Cox so this might be the new target after being knocked back over Beckford
The mirror guess at everything.
They quote Beckford as starting 38 times.
Beckford is adamant he can succeed in the Premier League and was the Blues’ joint-top scorer last season, albeit with only 10 goals in 38 appearancesHe's had 14 league appearances with 8 goals. 2 FA appearances with 1 goal, and 1 League cup appearance with 1 goal, according to Soccerbase stats.

Without singling out individual fans, I think the above post is a fair comment, and should serve as a little eye opener for many of our fans, many of whom seem to have been stood at the band wagon bus stop not really knowing much about the bus they are hoping will turn up.
I found it a little amusing also, (and didn't take offence as I don't think any was intended) that after supporting the club for over 40 years, that I was told a certain thread probably wasn't for me, as I'm a football fan, as opposed to a fanatic. Is this what our fan base is turning in to? Segregation? Deciding on who is a true blue, and who is a looker on, depending on the level of protesting one does? Come on guys?
I, and many like me, have probably forgotten more about this club than some fans give us credit for. We used to stand there with knitted scarves and hats when many younger fans weren't even born. We've argued our cases on just about every footballing subject imaginable, and seen changes both at our clubs and many others.
The difference now is that we are 'mature' fans, and as such, try and look at the bigger picture.
We've seen low points, and high points.
We've stood on the terraces watching opponents play in the top flight who are now gone from the scene, either by lower division, or via administration, and teams that were really good too.
Everton have been around for a long time, and so have many of the fans, but all these politics are getting in the way of the game, and that can never be a good thing.
No matter how much we as fans vent our frustration, we can't change anything that isn't in our hands. What happens with the club is likely to happen regardless of whether we express our opinions or not. Everybody wants what is best for the club, and I mean 'everybody'. Even fans from other clubs want good things for Everton.
The league starts for us tomorrow, so I don't know about you lot, but I'm really looking forward to it, and if we get off to a great start, fantastic, but if we lose, it's not the end of the world.
Keep your spirits up, and spare a thought for all the other fans who haven't had it so good. We're still up there, and still one of the best, and no amount of bickering can take that away.

They're gathering funds in order to sue you Louis.
I'd have thought our 12-13 money would already be well budgeted for.
-
Not selling Jagielka because the banks would just take the money is one thing. Not selling him if we were able to put the money back into the squad is another.
Surely Heitinga could slot straight in, or even Yobo?
Even as a business, it could make sense to sell Jags and get rid of 20m of debt even if I originally thought it might be pointless. If the right offer comes in, then surely he will go.

He became a major shareholder in the club in 1999 as part of True Blue Holdings, his title makes no difference.
Except for the fact that my point is our performances on the pitch since he took over as Chairman, and not, as director, Vice Chairman, or Shareholder, have been very good.
-
1999 was when Kenwright 'took over' and was making the decisions. I remember it was on boxing day and we smashed Sunderland 5-0 (I think).
I am still pissed off in the way Joe Royle was forced out!!! Not given £1m to sign Torre Andre Flo because he was too similar to Big Dunc!!!

Everton FC Vice-Chairman, 1998 - 2003

so thats ok then? your happy with mediocrity? thats the worst that can happen? you just highlighted what we have done under Moysie who i love but what do you think were gonna do next with no dough and even worse no idea what to do next. Bill has said as much he hasnt a clue!!!!
No - I highlighted what we've done under Kenwright.
I'm off to watch a film. Hoping you lot are going to be in better spirits once the football begins.
-
So whats your plan for the next five years when Jags, neville, cahill, arteta, saha, osman are retired?? wots our plan you tell me? hope for global financial recovery? we are going fucking NOWHERE!!!
I don't get paid to plan for Everton's future mate, but what I will say, is that anybody would think we are clinging on to Premiership survival every year the way some fans go on.
It's the exact opposite.
Since Kenwright became chairman, we've had our best results in years, and enjoyed European football once again. We've been to Wembley, and under Moyes have played some of the best football seen at Goodison since the 80's.
We were a whisker away from a new stadium, and have one of the best teams we can remember.
Worried about the future? Why?
What's the worst that can happen? We go back to the mediocrity that was Everton before Kenwright was Chairman?
2010-11 = 54pts = 7th Fans want Kenwright out
2009-10 = 61pts = 8th Play in Europe - Fickle fans want Moyes out.
2008-09 = 63pts = 5th FA Final Runners up - Play in Europe
2007-08 = 65pts = 5th League Cup Semis - Play in Europe
2006-07 = 58pts = 6th
2005-06 = 50pts = 11th Play in Champions League
2004-05 = 61pts = 4th
2003-04 = 39pts = 17th Kenwright becomes Chairman June 2003
2002-03 = 59pts = 7th
2001-02 = 43pts = 15th Moyes joins club as manager March 2002
2000-01 = 42pts = 16th
1999-00 = 50pts = 13th
1998-99 = 43pts = 14th
1997-98 = 40pts = 17th
1996-97 = 42pts = 15th
1995-96 = 61pts = 6th = Won Charity shield
1994-95 - 50pts = 15th = won FA Cup
1993-94 = 44pts = 17th
1992-93 = 53pts = 13th
1991-92 = 53pts = 12th
The league hasn't even kicked off for us yet and already the forums are full of negativity. Like I said earlier ... get a grip.
-
We can only play 11 players. Who drops out if Donovan plays?
Do we play him as a striker? That is what he is after all, and he has zero history of playing as a striker in the Prem.
He won't join us to become a midfielder. Why would he do that?
-
Ha ha not far off, had ankle surgery on Wednesday, being a seriously grumpy sod at the moment.
So underneath you actually love Bill then?

The same being that everton fans don't need to be experts to see he is way out of his depth. This is the second time a group of fans have exposed the incompetencies of a board that have failed to deliver on so many things. Quite embarrassing.
Clearly this was a quickly arranged interview designed to try and dilute the impact of the peoples group transcript. Why does it have to come to this to get communication.
Get an interim board in and get this club sold. We are a laughing stock. I await the £10m bid for Jagielka and £10m for Rodwell.
Sorry bud but I disagree.
We're not a laughing stock at all.
We have regularly been the 5th and 6th best team in the league for the past 10 years, and are still able to compete for European places.
If our board are incompetent, then 14 other boards must be even 'more' incompetent, because we regularly finish above them, without spending, while they spend each year. That is not incompetence.
"Kenwright doesn't have money to spend, so let's get rid of him". You all sound like a money grabbing woman talking to be honest.
14 other clubs are not asking for their board to leave.
The only clubs that finish above us are 4 of the biggest clubs in the world, and Spurs of late, who are also loaded.
Our board must go because we can't spend what they spend?
Get a grip guys.
-
Sunderland spent a lot last year too, and finished only 8 points above relegation in 10th place.
This shows us just how good our team are.
-
We'd get more than 2m at a car boot sale.
Maybe a player is coming the other way.
-
Working at the festivals the next 2 weekends so not going to see a prem game until the 10th

With all due respect avinalaff, and I seriously mean this with no insult, given your attitude to taking part over winning (which you are entitled to) I seriously don't think this is the type of thread you want to get involved in. This is the type of politics that a lover of football as opposed to being everton mad needs to ignore.
Peteo, did you actually read that?! The man running our club was made to look the incompetent fool that I along with many have thought for some time. Not because he was picked on ffs, he was asked questions that he could not give clear answers to, why? Because despite 11 years in control of the 4th most successful club he has nothing other than a few passionate rebel rousing words to offer. Was interesting to see that he knows f'all about the massive operating costs, or says he knows nothing.
Give me any bloke in the street who has a house, regardless of intellect he knows how much money he spends on the mortgage, gas, electricity, sky tv and if daft enough his everton season ticket. He can account for any rises etc, why can't bill?
His pitiful, "I don't pay myself a salary, claim fuel, mobile etc" deserved a slap, once he has paid Philip green the money he owes him (unless it's not in the operating costs) will earn many millions more than his initial investment in the club.
Seriously sickened reading that. We are dealing with a seriously disillusioned man.
I understand 'completely' what you mean mate, and certainly don't think for a second you intend insult. Politics aren't my cup of tea where Everton are concerned, and I'm definitely the type of guy that might 'get in the way' so to speak with my stiff upper lip and higher moral values.
You're right though. I like to discuss the football, so if you lot promise to keep the noise down I'll let you stay up for an extra half an hour.

Will investors be put off by all the moaning our fans are doing?
Traditionally, we've always been praised as the greatest supporters, and have never been one to stoop to the standards of other clubs fans. If a buyer was available, would they want to buy knowing the fans want money spending on big players?
I can't for the life of me understand why 'anybody' would buy a football club. Do 'any' football clubs make a profit?
-
I thought he was quite honest.
-
I read the article but can't say I'm any the wiser.

I watched Everton since the early 70's, even though I was actually at a game whilst being baby sitted in the 60's lol, and there have been loads of moments, many forgotten, when I've been delighted, and loads when I've been frustrated. I was spared a lot of the grimness of the 90's because I worked 6 days per week at the time, but I've seen us lift trophies, and win derbies, and play against European competition, but it's never really felt different when the whistle blows.
At the whistle, I'm still 100% optimistic regardless of opposition, and still have the pre match butterflies in the big games.
My favourite thing about Everton in the 40 years I've supported the club though has been David Moyes. I think if he were to leave it would be a very sad day for the club. I don't think he gets anywhere near the credit he deserves. I shout at the guy like everybody else, but I'd not want the guy to leave for any piece of silverware in return.

Where do I stand? Fan or Fanatic?
Apologies, I answered the questions in the quote!
Beardy, we've known each others views for years matey, so I'm not going to start figuring you out all over again lol.
I think you need to go buy a dog, or an Xbox, or just get a girl friend.

I first thought it was just another name being thrown at Kenwright.
