  1. Take a screenshot of this Dunc, I agree 100% with you.

Avinalaff, you seem a dead nice fella so I'm not gonna give you the u certificate response to your suggestion.

Yobos relevance to our team now is about as relevant as konchesky is to Liverpool. The very inclusion of yobo in our back 4 sends shockwaves to the other defenders, you just don't know what he is gonna do. It's s relief to see him hit row z at times. The fact that he has pace does not make him a potential right winger, his control is awful as is his passing.

Yobo has never been comparable to jags for the simple reason, jags is a far superior defender. Concentrates, communicates, and instills confidence. I would sooner see hibbert at centre half than yobo. Seriously.

I caused you to agree with Dunc - you owe me. wink.png

Jags owes us a good season. Since Lescott left, and the injury, I think he's been poor by his own standards in my opinion. There will always be divided opinion on our players.

As long as you all realise I'm right before the stroke of midnight, the club can still be saved. biggrin.png

  2.

    When was he our captain?

An inform Yobo is 5 seconds away from a calamitous mistake, an inform Jags is unbeatable so I would have to disagree

lol not even going to comment on the Yobo for right wing shout!

The guy has captained both Everton 'and' Nigeria. He was also the first African player to captain Everton when we played Larissa. Just because he scores an own goal in a derby he gets stick.

The lad is a great defender, and a good lad too.

  3. Playing Yobo on the right wing just seems ridiculous that's all.

There's outside the box and then there's cloud cuckoo land. Moyes' insistence on playing players out of position must be rubbing off on you!

I'd even be happy to have Vic playing the right wing if Yobo was seen as the other option.

    shaking%20fist.pngwink.png

Definitely sell Jags before Yobo. Will give the kids more of a chance of getting game time sooner and entice them to stay.

Plus the choice between £12+ mil and Yobo compared to £2 mil and Jags seems a no brainer. Would give Moyes some funds to strengthen the wings or up top which would make more of a difference that keeping hold of a cb were there is adequate cover.

    Yes.

We could try Tim Howard up front and give Mucha a run in goal tongue.png

For me Yobo is not that great a player. He has pace and strength, his pace has got him out of trouble more than once but as he ages and starts to lose his pace his lack of positioning sense and his inability to read a game will become more exposed. His concentration is not up to much either.

    Take the money and run

    You're all mad. Mad I say. crying.gif

He's 30. For a defender, that's prime, and also means we can get another 3-5 years out of him. That alone is why he is worth more than 2m.

He was wanted by some of the top clubs in the game a few seasons ago. He can't be that bad.

  4.

Please tell me you're on smack?

Hmmmm. Your opinion is different so the other guy must be on smack, huh?

Moyes plays lots of players in lots of positions. Yobo is great going forward, and is a skilful footballer. He is also possibly the fastest player in our team, and one of the quickest defenders in the game. Sometimes you have to think outside the box.

  5. Selling Yobo for 2m is ridiculous.

I'd rather play him, and sell Jags. The guy was our captain, and is a damn fine player. The issues only arose when he was benched. I'm sure if he played every week he would be happy. The guy has been a good servant to the club, and I don't have a problem with him. An in form Yobo is every bit as good as an inform Jags in my book.

He also has the pace to play on the right wing. Why can't Moyes give him a go there?

  6. 'English' accents to please american ears. Fair enough if its a butler or the queen but when its just normal characters(especially when they state they're from somewhere outside of London) it takes the piss or even worse when its British people playing themselves or being interviewed and they do the silly voice.

Can you imagine the look on the American faces if all they heard was Scouse? laugh.png

  7. Yeah I Kinda meant revenge as Neville was awesome in that game and we were outplayed, I think we were lucky to get a 1-1 draw at the lane in October after an awesome game at the San Siro, that shows Moyes quality tactically as after the 3-4 result against Inter Tottenham players must have been buzzing and to be honest I think Everton deserved more than a draw,

So you bastards stopped us finishing 4th

Oh hang on no it was that we were Shit and lost to wigan and Wolves at home

Had we beaten you that day we would have been on our way to top 4 ourselves at the time. It was a bad result for us.

  8. Discipline doesnt have to be physical so i dont see the irony at all.

So you would prefer it to be psychological then as opposed to physical?

The whole point is about deterrent. The irony is that the government removed long established deterrents but then complains when the kids are without discipline. Whether we feel the deterrents are right or wrong is another subject.

We didn't 'have' to smack our kids, as long as the kids knew we could. The teachers didn't 'have' to give the cane, providing the kids knew they could.

The whole dilemma is that now kids know they can't be touched. Add to that the insufficient numbers of police officers and it's easy to anticipate folk taking advantage.

  9. I can see the evrybodys point.

Whether Upson is good or not is down to opinion. Moyes might not rate him, or may not even be able to attract him. There are always ifs and buts.

Another CB wouldn't do any harm though.

Distin is ageing, as is Neville, and Heitinga isn't a cert to stay. Yobo is surplus either by choice or by Moyes' decision, and Duffy has little experience. Jags was pretty poor last season, and if Arsenal offered the right fee would be gone.

There's no such thing as a free though. Signing on fees and wages are always expensive. No matter which way you look at it, even 20k a week is a million per year, and a million more than we can afford. Unless someone left, it's an extra mouth to feed.

  10.

Personally i took that as being, "how can you call yourself ENglish if you're looting and rioting in your own country" and "it's not what the English do"

That's very generous of you I feel. I look at it more as though he meant " guys who aren't English are rioting in England".

The last thing we need is mobs dealing out justice to kids, or anyone else that matter. If they scare the rioters off, then great, but if they attack the rioters, not great.

My initial sentiment was to just wade in and knock hell out of them, but then I realised most are young gullible kids who have been involved through peer pressure more than anything.

It's the leaders that need the kicking, but the leaders are probably organised gangs anyway, so in that respect, let both organised nutters go find a big hole and jump in.

The same country that made it illegal to smack our kids now want mums and dads to discipline them and keep them in. Bit ironic?

  11. What do you think about these 'anti riot squads' in Enfield etc, patrolling the streets?

Is this really an effort to stop rioters, or is it just an opportunity to kick some ass?

No way do normal lads get that kind of crew together, outside of organised groups, so are they E.D.L and is it an opportunity for racist revenge?

    What do you think?

  12. I think the game is looking likely to go ahead, as it was not Spurs fans that had anything to do with with the trouble, and most fans do not live in the area, and

33,000 Tottenham fans will make sure there is no grief, I also think the fact we are playing Everton is a factor as there is no history of bad blood between the fans, I think if we were playing another London club there is no way it would be played,

If it does go ahead I Wish you all well but obviously I want us to get off to good start, I think a draw is the most likely outcome as we can't score for toffee (excuse the pun) but bizarrely for a Tottenham team are quite solid at the back although we do have a dodgy Keeper so I would encourage your forwards to shoot at every opportunity, in fairness I think our midfield is much better than yours, even with Modric's mind on other things I would love us to win but I predict 1-1 or 0-0.

I would also add that Everton are one of our bogey teams that always do well against us so you could nick it 2-1

sad to say I just can't see a Lilywhite victory !

Every fan wants their team to win mate. We won't think badly of you for hoping your team beats us 6-0 lol. That's the game. I'm hoping we break the league record against every team we play, but it won't happen lol. laugh.png

To host the game takes large police resources. I can't see it being played.

Perhaps there could be a world war amnesty type thing were everyone stopped fighting and looting for a game of footy.

Kind of stopped, put their stones down, or their truncheons, went to watch the match,. and then returned later. wink.png
