  1. Martinez' post match interview - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24094155 Mourinho's post match interview - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24096260 Mourinho is right IMO, his side should have put away some of their chances and had they done so would have won the game. I think people are over-reacting a little bit by jumping up and down about him.
  2. I don't watch MOTD anymore because all they are arsed about is the top clubs. Even though we bossed Chelsea they will make it look like we hung on with our lives and I wouldn't be surprised if the only attacking move from us they show is the Naismith goal. Unfortunately Sky & BT are just as bad. Luiz should have gone, he was the last man and had he not been dragged down Mirallas was in the clear with nobody to challenge him. Howard Webb as usual shits himself and only gives a yellow.
  3. Agree. I don't like bashing Naismith as I think he's very under-rated but I thought he was average today. Apart from the goal all he did was a solid job rather than stepping up and being that bit extra.
  4. If anyone votes for a player other than Barry they want their balls shoved in a mouse-trap. He was immense. MOTM by a country mile.
  5. That was a well deserved win in my book. We didn't miss Fellaini at all and bossed large portions of the game. Even we were at 1-0 we had enough about us to see the game out without having to hang on with 11 men in defence. When we had the ball we were looking to attack with Mirallas, Jelavic & Naismith which was good to see and we managed to keep it tight at the back like we have done all season under Martinez. Chelsea managed to put together some decent attacking moves but all of them were dealt with well by our back four. We're still un-beaten and we now have our first win under Bobby, there is a long way to go but all the signs are positive. Howard - Pretty poor to be honest, nearly gave away a goal in the first-half because he was dicking around with the ball rather than clearing it and looked very indecisive (as always) when coming to collect aerial balls. He made some good saves but that isn't enough against teams like Chelsea. Coleman - Fantastic, looked solid at the back and was rapid going forward. He had the pace to get round Cole and did it time and time again, he linked up well with Naismith too and brought him into the game. Distin - Solid as always. He did what he had to and kept Eto'o quiet (who looked completely shit all game). Jagielka - In the first half he looked fucking awful as whenever he had the ball he would hopelessly hoof it up-field to either David Luiz or John Terry. After about 20 minutes he stopped it and put in a good shift for us. Baines - Linked up well with Mirallas and was always a threat going forwards. Tore Ivanovic apart at times. Naismith - He did a job in terms of breaking up Chelsea attacks and was the man to score us the goal but for me he looked quite poor today. Many attacks stopped with a poor pass from him and I feel that had we a player of quality in his position today we might have scored more (or at least had more chances). Osman - Shit in the first half and average in the second. He seemed to get tired after about 70 minutes and then seemed to just sit back and hold the fort (which was fine). He actually looked better when we were all out defence than when we were going for 1 and 2-0. Once James McCarthy has settled in I'm hoping Osman and he swap roles. Barry - Fuck me. Man of the Match. That's one of the best debuts I've ever seen. We would have conceded had it not been for him diving across the line when Howard fucked up and was excellent both in attack and defence. To sell Fellani for £28,000,000 and bring him in on a loan is fantastic business if he can replicate what he did today. My MOTM by a long way. Barkley - I love how he always looks a threat going forwards and always wants to take people on but a few times today he actually broke up attacks by not passing the ball. Many times we would counter-attack Chelsea, have Mirallas free on the left and Barkley would try and take on both Terry & Luiz. It's fantastic that a kid of his age has so much confidence but he needs to understand that football isn't a one-man game. Mirallas - I love Mirallas and he had a great game as always today. He was taking players on left, right and centre and linked up well with Baines down the left. When Jelavic went off he went up front and looked alright there, he held the ball up well when we wanted to hold out for 1-0 and seemed to handle the pressure of being our only man up top well. Jelavic - Shit. Didn't do much and Mirallas looked a much better striking option than him even though Mirallas was heavily fatigued. If he continues in this kind of form he can go for me in January, he's been very average now for 12 months and more.
  6. I was watching the game at Goodison when Neville did that tackle on Ronaldo, I instantly jumped up and applauded Pip. Cracking challenge - one of the best I've seen. OT:
  7. This week's Talking To the Enemy is somewhat watered down because of the lack of responses I was given to work with. After signing up with two Chelsea forums only one gave me permission to post (as the other had a rule which meant that an admin had to validate my account) and on that one I only received one reply. I can only apologise for the poor standard this week but I can only do what I can with the tools I am given. Special thanks to Sidzeret from India who was the only Chelsea fan to respond: Zoo: Hey there, I'm Zoo, an Evertonian in peace from ToffeeTalk.com and this year I've decided to run a feature that asks the opposing fans each week what they think of us and how they think the game will go. If you have a moment of your time it would be great if you could answer the following questions so that I can share your thoughts with our members. 1 - First of all, the most obvious one. What are you thoughts about Jose Mourinho coming back? 2 - How satisfied are you with your season so far? 3 - Romelu Lukaku has just signed for us on a season long loan deal, is this a good signing for us? What are your feelings on the matter? 3 - What are your thoughts on Roberto Martinez? Is he the man to take us forward? 4 - Where do you think you will finish this season? 5 - Where do you think we will finish this season? 7 - What score will it be on Saturday? Thanks in advance to all who take part, I've got quite a soft spot for Chelsea so I wish you all the best with the rest of the season (apart from Saturday) and if you ever feel like popping onto an Evertonian board we welcome all away fans regardless of who they support! Sidzeret: 1-Ecstatic to say the least. The attitude he brings to the side is amazing. IMO he can win the PL with just the players we loaned out.:-P 2-Lukaku is a master striker in the making. He adds a much needed finesse to the Evertonian strike force. Hope he becomes an immediate starter for the side. Deulafeu, Barkley and Lukaku can be very lethal up front and can make a good partnership. Kinda disappointed he wasn't staying with us though. 3- Martinez is probably one of the best young managers in the PL(Fuck U, AVB) and the way he managed Wigan in the FA Cup last year was excellent. That cup tie against Everton was a class apart. He made David Moyes look like....well, David Moyes. Having worked with Wigan on such a low budget makes him perfect for the Everton job. He is definately the right man for the job and i can see a trophy coming. 4- I'm confident of finishing as top dogs after the initial matches. City may more valuable players, but having Mourinho in the dugout makes all he difference. 5- No.6 looks the likely pos after seeing Liv'pool play so well early on. Apart the top 4 and Tott'nm and Liverpool, i don't see anybody challenging you. With Martinez, Everton can do well in the FA Cup as well. A Chelsea- Everton final. Maybe? 6- Chelsea win 2-1. Mata and Luiz are likely starters and Willian could make his debut. Hard to bea that;-)
  8. Welcome back Aaron . How come you came back from Australia? (If it's not a rude question)..
  9. I'm shite with Photoshop but I had an idea just know that could work. Remember the badge below? From the 100 years season. What if we replaced Dixie with the tower, 'Top flight football' with 'Nil Satis Nisi Optimum' and the completely take the ribbon away (or use it to display the word 'Everton'). Thoughts?
  10. 1 - The atmousphere at Goodison is piss poor, agree with you on that. 2 - The new badge is shite, but to put up another neon sign for 12 months would be financially stupid - I don't have a problem with it. 3 - Away supporters are treated the same at Goodison as they are everywhere else. Couldn't care less if they have restricted views - we're the home team. 4 - Everton had one of the best transfer windows this summer so again I don't see a problem. Welcome to the forum anyway, hopefully you'll stick around here.

  13. Someone needs to ring up Costa Rica and tell them to stop being bellends.
  14. 3 points behind with a game in hand? The start is always a mixed bag but you can bet your house when the season finishes Celtic will be on top.
  15. Wales manager Chris Coleman was unable to fly out to Macedonia with his team after losing his passport . http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23774483
