  1. Total bollock of a thread. None of the backroom staff are in contention. They aint even been coaches for long! They may have been spoken to, but probably more for an opinion. Peace.
  2. Not sure what the problem is to be honest. If we aint got a manager in July, when all players are back, tours are beginning etc, then I will say we didnt have a plan, BK is a prick, Elstone bums BK while the tealady licks his balls But just now, theres no need. The season has just finished in this country, in some it still aint finished, and the players are off on international duty or holiday. There is absolutely no reason to panic. Something will happen within the next week. And in reality, when we take our anti-BK, panic stricken heads off...thats ok, its not a problem. We have no idea about anything...so lets just wait.
  3. I'll whack some in on Tuesday, or there abouts.
  4. Yes he did use Everton. The same way anyone with ambition takes steps to get to the top. And like any loyal person, he was prepared to see it through until it became obvious that his ambition had grown and the club hadnt grown with it. Use my little career as an example. I worked at a leisure resort for 9 years. I worked my way up to manage it for my final 2 years. Why did I leave? It was the same old same from the owner. Always looking to wrangle money. The more money we made, the more these strange bills appeared that had to be paid. The place was never going to change while that owner had it, he had no intention of letting it go unless he got a daft price. So i sodded it off and joined one of the UK's, soon to be worlds, biggest retailers. Sounds kinda familiar I think!
  5. Confirmed just now... Pullis has left stoke. Please God....no...no...no....noooooooo!!!
  6. Blimey...take a step back...and breath!!! This is a good topic, lets not let it turn into a bitch session. John...you have very valid points. Again, and ots not the first time I have typed this...and others have too, we agree new stadia is needed to boost income and stay competitive at the top. However, the point many are trying, but failing, to make to you is a) Where will the money come from when we have none to very little to start with, plus hardly any assets because they have already been sold to keep the club going? Your answer to this is a loan. Unfortunately...we already have a number of loans secured against future income. We also already owe the bank £45-50million. I get that you believe we run at a profit...unfortunately thats not true. We run at a loss, the annual club accounts tell us that. Only sales of assets and/or players make it look less gloomy. If we try to secure finance with a bank or 3rd party, they are gonna want some strong arrangements, so it will be either a high interest rate (can we afford it?), an asset as security (we dont have any!), or a guarantor...who would that be? It goes a lot deeper than this...but as I am typing this while taking a dump, im finding it hard to concentrate. This is just my view. The new stadia would be awesome, as would the rail links. No one is against what you are saying John, please just relax a little and take on board the real factual concerns.
  7. Ah...yes. Thats a bit wrong. Maybe he isnt? Maybe its ended early??
  8. Moyes has headed off to Utd's training ground today...straight in there. I keep harping on about Martinez, but Laudrup would do...just think theres not a lot of chance with that one.
  9. John...again, great posts. However, yet again I am reading your passionate replies, telling us we need new stadia for more income, to challenge etc etc, all correct by the way...but we, the fans, know that. We know it. When I say the so called negative views arent so much negative but experience, I know we havent experienced new stadia but we have experienced two complete failures in the past 10 or so years...two plans which where boasted about left right and centre which came to nothing. Even a project to boost out corperate facilities a couple of years ago fell flat on its face. Thats the experience. So, while I dont think that not having a new stadium will result in instant relegation...I do kinda agree that not having something done will make it a hell of a lot more difficult to challenge due to finances. Im not sure of your motive for the whole thread, if we all just said 'yes, I agree'...then what?
  10. John...brilliant posts. Top notch detail. But I cant help feel that you are trying to sell an idea, which is right in every way, but we aint the right people to sell it too!!! Most fans would enjoy a new stadia to increase our revenues and competiveness, so long as it wasnt too co orperate and lost the soul of the club, which sadly many new stadia are/do. However, we have seen a few let downs with these things in recent years. So the sceptism isnt negativity, its expereience.
  11. Defo coleman for me. His determined ways going forward and tracking his man have been immense. I think he'll be better again next season.
  12. Avin...Without turning this into a Kenwright topic, and again I have no real issue with BK...just couple of things...he doesnt own the club, isnt it just 25% of shares he has? That leaves a vast majority elsewhere (Is it 51%you need before being classed as 'owner'? Not sure). I dont think anyone can be too against BK's passion, but there is a point where it gets too theatrical and a bit cringey...like when you see a shit act on X-Factor...you get that same feeling. But, I guess thats his character...I suppose a lifetime in theatre can do that to you!!! Anyway, last game today, wont be long until we find out who the new man is.
  13. Can't be right! And if it is then it would be a right kick in the teeth for the club. But not even gonna get wound up...it aint happenin!
  14. If you read the article, it says they have been 'interviewed about how they see their role in the iminant shake up'...not so much the actual managers job. The headline does its job I think...gets your immediate attention to read on!!! I do see having these guys at the club as important...hopefully they and the new manager can continue working together.
  15. So how many youth players have made it into the first team in the last however many years? This is brill news for the club, I just hope they don't slip through the net.
  16. On the Kenwright thing...He is a sound man, it is good to have that passion, and yes he is clearly a good businessman. BUT...to stand on stage and say to all that he 'promises David we'll carry on his great work' etc is to much...what he should say is 'thanks David for the effort you put in, we all wish you luck, and I promise the fans that we will do everything within our power to ensure we stay a top 6 team'...still passionate, but less theatrical.
  17. Thanks for that. Kinda proved me right. How many top managers over time and in the modern era has there been? And only a minute handfull can say they got it straight away.
  18. Thats true StevO...bit too over gracious I feel. We are all gratefull for what Moyes did...but come on, BK is goin over the top...as per usual!!
  19. I wouldnt be happy with anyone from within got the job. Nothing against them, great pro's and am sure they do ok with the kids and reserves. However, learning your trade in the firing line with a top 6 team is not a safe option for anyone. How many top managers start at the very top? You got to start low and prove yourself. It would be barmy to give Round, Stubbs, Weir or Ferguson the job on the basis they know the club, players and transfer targets. Slight bit of arrogance there from Moyes. And if thats the advice he will give the board, I hope they dont ask.
  20. Beltin question that MikeO...I can see Newcastle bein back up amongst it as they wont have the Europa to bother with. Thats the only one. When u think of it like that...we will be right up there. That is our place.
  21. Some brilliant posts goin on there!!! Just to clarify, as I was quoted earlier, I aint in the gang who think the only way is down.. No way! The reason I talk about the money is that those teams can add adequate depth to their squad with ease, we cant. And that, over a season, makes a difference. However, I think it was PeterH, reminded me that actually, when you think about it, had Jelavic beenon form, alot of draws would have been wins and we would be in a CL place for sure. No doubt, our starting 11 is real strong. The age thing isnt a problem...I think the days when players struggle as soon as they hit 30 are gone. Distin is a prime example, 35...ripped up and still got great pace.
  22. Fair play Johnno. My only thing with him is that he is used to having a wad of cash...when Liverpool cut his spending, thats when he started sulking n moaning. His CV is great...but on our budget? Cant see it...I think he is gonna go to a Champions League team.
  23. Shame. Another promising youngster on the off. Is it the Liverpool nightlife?!!!
  24. Its all garbage these days. It used to be whoever won it got a place, then if they qualified through the league positions, the league got an extra spot. It changes to suit the Italians usually...when their teams stop winning in Europe, they kick n scream to make sure they still get full benefit. Politics n all that!!
