WIGAN LATEST
BBC Sport's Luke Reddy reports: "Dave Whelan has just told me Wigan have agreed a deal to take Manchester United's Nick Powell on a season-long loan.
Whelan said: "We obviously had Tom Cleverley on loan and I think United were happy with the job we did with him, so it's good news that we've got the lad.
-
Haha, just came here to post the same. He said we're looking to get a striker on loan from Chelsea and it's not Ba.
-
"Everton have turned to Porto's Brazilian midfield man Fernando as the potential replacement for Marouane Fellaini as he waits to complete his move to Manchester United.
"Goodison Park officials have registered their interest and now face the traditional race against time to finalise a deal that could be worth around £15m.
"Whether this cools their interest in Wigan Athletic's James McCarthy remains to be seen."
-
Could put a stop to everything...
Manchester United are closing in on a deal for Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera according to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, who said on Twitter: "United have offered 36m for Herrera. He will have to pass medical and United pay it all in cash but deal practically done."
-
"Everton may be in discussions about selling Marouane Fellaini to Manchester United but they also have plans in place to bring in new arrivals to Goodison Park.
The Toffees have made an offer for Cagliari centre-back Davide Astori and the Italian club are "evaluating" the bid, according to Corriere dello Sport."

I did think it was too early at first, but Woy probably sees that he is going to have a very successful season. If he has a wicked season then people will want him in the team come next June. This way he can integrate into the England team early and gradually.
-
I think I must be the only one that hasn't ever (knowingly) seen McCarthy actually play. Do many people watch Wigan games other than against Everton?
-
Watch Man Utd put in a £12m bid and Fellaini submit a transfer request :shaking fist:
-
I would love to see a line up of:
Howard
Stones Jagielka Distin
Coleman Baines
Fellaini Gibson
Mirallas Pienaar
Jelavic
That's pretty exciting tbh. With options of Deulofeu, Barkley and Kone coming off the bench... mmm
-
I would go for mirallas but everytime I put a player on my shirt something happens, I had Rooney, next season we sold him, arteta, we then sold him, and a few years ago jags when he missed quite a bit cause he was injured so I swore I would never have a name on a shirt ever again
Yeah please don't get Mirallas on your shirt!
-
Who would actually show this match then? I know you can usually find a stream online but I doubt any foreign channels are going to show a minor friendly. Can't think of any UK channels that would bother streaming it?
-
^ Why does Cahill's signature look like a badly drawn penis?
-
I heard we've signed their cleaners too...
-
Yeah my stream says it kicks off in 25min, think its a sign to go to bed...
-
It is strange. I was under the impression that all 4 winners of the first round should automatically be in the top 4 places at the end. Its a knockout tournament from round 1, so it doesn't make sense that someone knocked out in the first round can be playing for 3rd place, bizarre.
-
Yeah I really don't like that, horrible...
-
Why didn't baines take that
-
Just a little good fortune against Real Madrid wouldn't go amiss...
-
Fffuuu...
-
Jags has put in a couple of decent blocks so far.
-
Can't believe we started Naismith against Real Madrid. Can't understand how we have no better options?
-
Ah OK, just logged on at 1, must have missed it. Cheers
-
Anyone else's commentary on the OS sound like they're on a phone? Sound is awful...
-
If anyone has any doubts about how swansea got the brand of football they play, log on to bbc iplayer. Impressive.
Great watch.

What's to say he doesn't want to come to us anyway
