MikeO Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Oh dear how tragic.... Man City 0 FC Midtjylland 1 Manchester City suffered a shock home defeat by Danish side FC Midtjylland in the first leg of their Uefa Cup second qualifying round tie. The Danes took the lead on 15 minutes when Danny Olsen punished Richard Dunne's mistake with a precise finish. City had made a dreadful start but did improve and Daniel Sturridge smashed a shot against the bar before half-time. Martin Petrov also hit the woodwork with a late free-kick but City could not turn their possession into chances. Quote
lawrietimson Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Shame, i really like city. Watched the match and wasn't very impressed by what was on display. City had a few good chances and were unlucky not to get a couple of goals, but they didnt seem to really care about getting a result it seemed until the last 10 mins or so. Petrov seemed to be getting angry with players of his own squad (which last time this happened ended up in a red for him for kicking leon osman). I still think they will step up to the mark on the second leg and still win on aggregate. Quote
