Where would we play him anyway? We aren't really crying out for more midfielders at the moment. I'd like some pace on the wings but midfield isn't a priority. No chance in hell of him coming here. it's pretty much consensual here in Portugal that Veloso is a much better player than Moutinho, he's not quite as regular and versatile as JM, but he's a top notch defensive midlfielder, good vision, and a powerful kick. I agree with pretty much everyone that says that the probability of him moving to Everton is slim to non-existent, and i was surprised as well about city. The thing is, he really wants to leave now, since he's having a few problems with the coach, that doesn't always plays him in a DM position (he's decent as a left back too), but this year he's yet to show his true form, so I was kind of surprised about offers for him, since his release clause is even higher than moutinho's... Only thing is, the paper where it came from is basically benfica's newspaper, for all the "umbyased" reporting they do, and also, Miguel Veloso himself denied giving that interview to Sporting's site. No comments from said newspaper, curiously... anyways, 12 million is laughable, for a player of his quality. And I seriously doubt he'd go for it, I mean, moving from a champions league squad to a team that fights not to get relegated, not my idea of career progress... This is just like the idea of Emanuelson for me - if we can get him as cheap as 8-12m then we have done well. He's probably at the right age to bring over and not just be a player with potential, plus his ability to cover CB makes him a real asset for that depleted part of the squad.
