Spurs Snub United Bid For Carrick

Recommended Posts

Many people laughed when Chelsea signed Lampard from west ham for 11m, Lampard then was just A fringe Player, who would have thought He would go on to become 2nd in the World Player Of The Year, The same thing could happen to Carrick, and they say u are only as good as your team, I like Carrick but Man U still need to sign A Roy Keane-type player, maybe they already have one with Alan Smith but at least Carrick is English and he could deffentily break into the England team in A few years to replace Lampard who by the next World cup could be to old, so on a positive note I think Carrick could turn into a very good buy For United

SIR ALEX FERGUSON has insisted Michael Carrick is no Roy Keane.

At a press conference to unveil new £18.6Million signing Carrick, the United manager said he had found it difficult to replace ex-captain Keane and was looking to add more players to his Old Trafford squad.

The United boss said: "The midfield area was something that we maybe had to bolster.

"We kept saying about replacing Roy Keane and that kind of thing, you can't replace Roy Keane, we've been trying for five years."

Ferguson is looking for Carrick to bring his passing game to the United midfield.

"Michael's an excellent footballer and a very, very good passer of the ball.
