pete0
Never heard of Saint Kitts & Nevis. But now I have an island to put on my bucket list. From wiki 'The country has two main islands, Saint Kitts and Nevis. The highest peak, at 1,156 metres, is Mount Liamuiga. There is also a smaller uninhabited island named Booby Island.' Dalziel Kane
I was aware of St Kitts and Nevis. They did something like this for Goal magazine in 1997, I still have the issue, where all clubs of every division featured overseas players, from Motherwell to Torquay, and the breakdowns and percentages of overseas imports, back then it was still early days as the EPL had only been around for about five years at the time, they even did a poll of who is the best overseas player, numbers 1-100, someone might even remember it. #1 Gianfranco Zola (Chelsea) #2 Juninho (Middlesbrough) #3 Eric Cantona (Manchester United) #4 Fabrizio Ravanelli (Middlesbrough) #5 Franck Leboeuf (Chelsea) if memory serves.. Everton's highest place was about #47 with Claus Thomsen.
marcopaulo
claus thomsen juninho ahead of cantona? ravanelli? who the fuck decided that shite
Dalziel Kane
It was on the basis on the season 1996-97. Publication was dated June 1997, I still have it. It makes sense now if you think about it, Ravanelli did much more and was involved than Cantona that year, as did Juninho you'll remember. Thomsen was the only Everton player involved I think, they said in his report that his then wages were 'daylight robbery', what an awful signing though, he was crap, one goal if I remember, and that was in the wrong net in a Merseyside Derby
Zoo
He had the misfortune of scoring an own goal in the Merseyside derby at Goodison Park on 16 April 1997, meaning that Everton were held to a 1-1 draw by Liverpool, although they still achieved survival in 15th place. He did manage to score once at the right end for Everton, with a goal in a 2-1 defeat to Derby County. After little more than a year at Everton where his ineffectiveness has often since seen him included in Everton all time worst XI team, he moved back to Denmark for £500,000 in March 1998, to play for Akademisk Boldklub (AB). Sounds crap.
