Hello Francesco from Italy! :)

Liverpool is not a very big city, it's possibly not worth hiring a car.

On 31 October, it is Halloween so there may be some themed-parties in the city centre. Cirque du Soleil are also performing in the city centre. On 1 November, there is a Lantern walk in Sefton Park (free to watch). It's kind of a mini parade.

There are lots of free museums in the city centre, and an art gallery.

You can do a stadium tour of Goodison Park :Dhttp://www.evertonfc.com/club/stadium-tour.html

There's also a Safari Park nearby. http://www.knowsleysafariexperience.co.uk/

(When I went to Italy, I visited Lake Garda, Venice, Verona - all culturally significant places, and here I am suggesting to Francesco to take in a Lantern walk :violent: )

I asked on Twitter:

I received three suggestions...

Eat at Il forno (Italian restaurant)

Draw blue cocks (blu pene) on Anfield

Play mini-golf at Liverpool one

Remember is not a huge city unless you travel North to South as it is a very long city.

BUT public transport is good enough to do the journey You can use Mersey Rail.

In the South there is the Old Speke Hall if you like that kind of thing. (Croxteth Hall is in the middle (sort of))

To the North (outside of the City ) is Royal Birkdale Golf Course, Formby where you can see and feed Red Squirrels and not really a lot more.

The City Centre has Greco-Roman Style Buildings that are said to be very fine. (Right opposite Lime Street Station as it happens) And also we have TWO Cathedrals to visit. "Paddy's Wigwam" The Roman Catholic Cathedral and The Anglican (Protestant) Cathedral at opposite ends of Hope Street.

Hope that helps :)

If you want to explore the countryside around Liverpool as well there's plenty to see. I suggest the Formby Red Squirrel Reserve, 20 mins away from the city centre by train. I also like the Another Place sculptures at Crosby Beach, which is a couple of stops before Formby.

Most museums in the city centre are well worth a visit, as is the Walker Art Gallery and Tate Liverpool. I also like visiting Croxteth Hall and park.

North Wales, Chester, the Wirral could all be worth a day trip too. Relatively easy to get to even without a car. Just avoid Manchester and you'll be fine.
