Chris Posted April 4, 2007 Report Posted April 4, 2007 BIG DUNC SAYS NO TO KIRKBY 04/04/07 Fans’ hero, Duncan Ferguson, has pledged his support to the “Keep Everton In Our City” campaign. In a rare public statement the big man said: “During my time at Everton, Goodison Park came to feel like a second home, with the supporters of the club, and the people of the city becoming a second family to me. “If you were to take Everton out of the City, I firmly believe the club could no longer call itself the ‘People’s Club’ and I give my whole-hearted support to the campaign to keep Everton in the City.” 04/04/07 http://www.keioc.net/index.php?page=Home Quote

Blue 250 Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 Couple of things on Duncs! I think during most of the time he spent here,we(Everton) never really had a great squad or even team. That obviously doesn't bring the best out of someone...ie Crouch plays better for luckypool than Southampton! Quite a few people came to watch Duncs play, even when the team weren't doing well, sure he didn't exactly play loads of games and at times he was kinda over physical but the man it seems was a Blue icon....well to quite a few! The big man did spend a lot of time injured....pretty sure that pissed him off too.A better squad and more luck with injuries and we would have seen an even better player. If the majority of Everton fans don't want to leave the city, and Duncs involvment in that debate can help even in the smallest way....then I would have thought like him or hate him we should be glad he can be bothered to speak up for what most Evertonians want............I'm not his biggest fan, though at his best I thought he was as good a number 9 as there was ! And I for one if Big Duncs was standing next to me wanting to get over his opinion......would listen very quietly Quote
