Patch Tuesday Posted January 7, 2006 Report Share Posted January 7, 2006 as far as i remember, backweb is related to a trojan virus. not 100% sure though. have a look at www.majorgeeks.com where they have all sorts af advice about getting rid of nasty stuff from your computer. L_Blue Posted January 8, 2006 Report Share Posted January 8, 2006 If like me you don't want to buy a virus checker download AVG Free edition and that should sort out any probs you have with viruses http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1 updates are posted regularly and it keeps me free of viruses just download it and then do a scan of your pc also spyware might be a problem and spybot search and destroy is a good tool to get rid of that stuff but I don't have a link for that type in to Google and you'll find it hope that helps. Most spyware detection programs flag it as spyware, so more than likely you would want to delete it. Download Spybot S&D, and run it and it should find and eliminate ActivSurf.
