As first reported at the end of June, The Toffees want the 25-year-old to help increase competition for places in their defence. David Moyes has had a major breakthrough on the eve of his side's crucial UEFA Champions League second leg qualifier with Villarreal with the stopper's representative admitting his client is joining the Merseysiders. "Matteo didn't train with the squad on Tuesday and the time has come to sign with Everton," revealed agent Giovanni Corci to Radio Incontro. "It will be a loan move with the option to buy at the end of the season for a fee of around £3.7 million. "The negotiations with Everton were run by a bunch of amateurs," he blasted, in reference to the fact that the deal has taken much of the summer to materialise. Which end were the amateurs though?? The Italy international, 25, joined Roma last summer from Parma and made 35 league appearances for the Giallorossi last season and will provide defensive cover at Goodison Park. "Ferrari will play on loan at Everton," his representative Giovanni Corci told Italian radio station Radio Incontro. "We are only waiting for (club administrator Rosella) Sensi to ratify this move."
