jamiemaher85 Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 Just read this morning that Shaun Tait is quitting cricket at the tender age of 24 due to undue stress and his love for the game waning. What do people think about this, in particular our aussie members. I think that he's looked good in one day games and looked like a real prospect at the last world cup. Hope he comes back to the game Quote
Romey 1878 Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 He's a bit hit and miss but he was definitely a player that had bags of potential. Shame that the Aussies are losing such a good player, , sorry I can't say that with a straight face. Quote

Pat Posted January 29, 2008 Report Posted January 29, 2008 On the Pitch 4 Safety is a term we used as kids to describe bowlers like Tait. The Oz Media built this lad up & Up & Up, then he got picked to bowl in a test on the bounciest wicket in the world (Perth) & bowled shithouse, lots of wides, no balls & went 4 lots of runs. Hadnt long returned from some sort of major elbow surgery & fell way short of the hype. It's his raw pace that excites everyone, but he's not / wasnt the full package yet. Papers here say he's been riding the injury game since he was about 20 & has bascially ahd enuff for now, both emotinaly & phys. Fair dues to him, he coulda tookt he money & persisted. No doubt he will back & all likely tormnet Us ( England) in the next series played Quote
