Not sure how I feel about this one. 30 mil? Would assume that Barry is a better passer, tackler, and interceptor than Witsel. Witsel did collect 6 goals in all comps last season tho.
Barry's on average not better than Witsel, but it's actually a good comparison in terms of playstyle. Both are silent workers on midfield, but Witsel is maybe a bit more versatile. Besides CM and CDM he can also play RB, RM, and if needed in times of emergency (such as red card + no more subs) he can play CD.
Random fact, early on in his career he's become famous for gruesomely breaking Marcin Wasilewski's leg during a game between Anderlecht and Standard. Wasilewski's promosing career as a CD was thought to be severely hindered due to the long revalidation time, but 2 months ago he became EPL champion with Leicester.

Newcastle sign Matt Ritchie.
Weird move for him.
Watford sign Christian Kabasele.
magpies also signed goalkeeper Matz Sels

So it'll just be Joel next season? Well I'm sure EFC knows what they're doing.

For tonight, I think it might help if Nainggolan or Witsel lock down Ramsey. Almost all of the through passes Bale gets come from Ramsey, so I think of you can shut him down, Wales will be quite handicapped.

heh loved Hodgson's character

It's embarrassing for the competition that Portugal are still in it.
Portugal was robbed of a penalty. TBF if it was embarrassing, then Croatia and Poland should have finished them.
-
Fuck, Vertonghen out injured for the rest of the tournament. And Vermaelen will be suspended against Wales. Probably Denayer and Jordan Lukaku starting then. I'm getting scared now.
We're fucked. We're fucked as fucking fuck. Sell your stock, hide your kids, loot the supermarkets. No way we can win.
edit: shame on Wilmots for not calling up Ritchie De Laet.

Would love it if Wales could somehow knock of the Belgians.
Nah mate they have this arrogant "we're going to wipe the floor with them"-mentality just because they drew and won 1-0 against a Belgian team that was in bad shape. I hope their arrogance gets punished. hard. Not sure if it will, but I hope so. They were dicks against England too, which doesn't help.

He has a 7m euro buyout clause apparently.
Well let's hope he signs a new contract at CLub Bruges without buyout close before signing at PSG
-
Confirmed, OM are in urgent need of money, so they ask it all up front: 40m euros.
-
He succeeded his medical tests at Chelsea. He's back in training today.
I find the mentioned sum very remarkable. It's not presented as a rumor either, it's supposed to be a confirmed fact. On the other hand, the sum wouldn't contain any add-ons. You usually see transfer deals containing some kind of extras like a percentage of his next transfer fee or maybe performance based bonuses. None of that here, so that might explain the unusually high sum, OM probably just want their money up front.

I mentioned Thomas Meunier before during the Sweden - Belgium game as the right back who won most duels with Ibrahimovic... I mustn't have been the only one who noticed that as he's now the number 1 transfer target for... PSG (to replace Gregory Van Der Wiel). That's insane. The guy comes from humble Club Bruges and while he was always a good player, he never occurred to be as a star. At this tournament he played the best games I've seen him play. Maybe the vast quality difference of the team may have something to do with it then. Good for Bruges, I'm sure they'll get more money out of it than they've ever seen in their lives.

My favorite moment yesterday
I find it more enjoyable than watching a haka
-Because of where the come from and who they are, even in the unlikely case that they'd get trashed 7-0 against France, they'll still be remembered positively for a very long time.
-
Why? Theyre not English. There's always been rivalry between British countries. Plus you (we) don't know what was said by English players / manager after the English win in the group stage.
That's a pig's mentality, mate. Whoever is involved ought to put themselves above such things and they didn't. Utterly tasteless.

Unbelievable.

Woy Hodgson was the highest paid national manager of all. To be fair, rotating players can make sense in a league competition, but not in a tournament. Teams who do well have all 23 players knowing exactly what their roles are and being at peace with that. Iceland isn't rotating at all for instance, but Italy hardly rotates either, same for Wales. (Italy's game vs Ireland doesn't count, they were already group winners and rested their first team for the Spain game) Not only do those teams win, they also leave impressions and perform above what everyone estimated them to perform like.
Sometimes it can be clear: you don't rotate.

Hope Iceland and Italy win today
Well I found one happy guy here
-
Any Brexit jokes?
-
How cheap would Rooney be now? I be he's easily cheap enough for Everton.
-
danny rose is feeling a lot of stress
-
In Fifa 16, when you pick a team like Iceland with all players who have scores in the 60's, you play against England and you're ahead, then you should probably increase the difficulty level.
-
I still thing England will win. But ffs.. why does everyone just keep underestimating Iceland, they've been good for 4 years now, barely lost the try-out game for their ticket to Brazil two years ago. They qualified for France at the expense of the Netherlands.

It is strange of mirallas to come on here and just state he hates all welsh people (??)
WOW WOW WOW I made no such statement!
I refer to what I really said:
I have nothing personal against the Welsh
How can you derive from that that I "hate the Welsh"?I don't know any Welshmen personally, like I just said and the truth in reality is that I'm completely neutral towards em...

Hope Iceland and Italy win today
One of those dreams may be coming true. They're not done with the Spaniards yet though.

I just find it weird that Everton has this sort of money to spend. I thought Fellaini back in the day was an exception. But they repeated it with Lukaku and now this? Is this thanks to the TV money?
