  1. Statement from the Royal Belgian FA:

The RBFA is pleased and proud to have found a manager of this caliber on such a short term for our national team. After having made a shortlist of the most interesting profiles, the choice for Roberto Martinez has followed swiftly. Roberto Martinez has already made known that he's honored to be able to work with such a talented group of players.

    RBFA Logic:

hmmmm let's see we have 40 applications.... Marcello Lippi... Rudi Garcia... Roberto Martinez....

Let's Google Roberto Martinez... Google: 'Did you mean Roberto Mancini' <clicks Riberto Mancini> "Ooh wow, this guy won the Premier League with Machester City, three times Serie A with Inter Milan, a few cups as well. SIGN THIS MAN NOW!

  2.

There's no way of knowing that. And he's never been all that special anyway imo. Jagielka in his prime was better and we should have upgraded on him last summer or the year before if we wanted to keep on challenging for Europe.

It would have taken a little more than that. But I don't think I agree that Jagielka was ever better than Williams.

  3. Check out "We Happy Few" on Steam early access. I wouldn't recommend buying into it just yet as the game isn't really fleshed out but the concept looks great.

Think 60s England were the government are treating everyone with anti-depressants and everyone is walking round in lala land. If you don't take your happy pills then bad things happen.

I've actually played it and I kinda liked it, but I refunded it because I felt like it wasn't worth its price yet. Maybe in the future. Needs some balancing as well.

  4. Remember that Anderlecht players are typically expensive. It's the only Belgian team where you hardly ever get a good deal. Genk, Club Brugge and Standard are typically better quality for price. Kevin De Bruyne, Thibault Courtois, Carlos Bacca, Axel Witsel, Junior Malanda (God rest his soul), Ivan Perisic and so on were all sold for very little (all under 10 million) and grew to be top class or world class footballers, either way, they all at least tripled their transfer fees in their next transfers (Malanda would have easily done so and for Courtois it's more as a figure of speech).

Anderlecht is a different case though. They successfully profiled themselves at the "elite" of Belgium (in reality, the top teams in Belgium are usually pretty equal). So be weary. Mbodj is not the kind of prolific top talent that belongs in that little list of mine up here. Kabasele (now at Watford since this summer) and Engels are considered better, more solid central defenders from the Belgian competition. But who knows, Mbodj is by no means a bad player, he's Anderlecht's best CD.

  5. There's another free weekend for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands on Steam till some hour on Sunday.

Shoutout to a new game that's gone into Early Access on Steam and GoG called "Ghost of a Tale". You never notice that this was made by one man. It's absolutely amazing for an indie game. Must own if you like cute things.

  6. Higuain went full legend with his league goal scoring effectiveness last season. He outperformed Ronaldo, Lewandowski and Messi (ok, Messi wasn't super prolific) for instance. Only bested by Suarez.

    Suarez: 40

    Higuain: 36

    Ronaldo: 35

Lewandowski: 30 (thought not guaranteed a stating line-up spot)

    Messi & Kane: 26

    Lukaku: 18

  7. Italian newspaper Tuttosport says that Witsel is their main transfer target now that they signed Higuain and they *claim* that WItsel would stall Everton's approaches because he'd prefer to play for the Italian champions. Again, this is just talks from a sensation loving newspaper.

  8.

Norton recorded 139 separate instances of a specific malware attack on that website:

    https://www.symantec.com/security_response/attacksignatures/detail.jsp?asid=28821

This attack affected various WordPress based websites.

This signature detects hidden scripts injected in compromised websites, which upon visiting redirects the user to exploit kit hosted sites. An exploit kit is a software kit designed to run on web servers, with the purpose of identifying software vulnerabilities in client machines communicating with it, and discovering and exploiting vulnerabilities to upload and execute malicious code on the client

I'm going completely off topic here, but besides Norton 360, I also use the free program Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit to help protect my system against this.

  9. I would say it is below France, Netherlands and on a par with Belgum.

Naah Zenit and CSKA have a budget ten times as big as Anderlecht and Club Brugge. Even Rubin Kazan, Locomotiv Moskow, Terek Grozny, Spartak Moskow, Anzhi Makhachkala are financially much more potent. And I can guarantee you that teams like Kazan and Rostov know pretty damn well how to play their football, not even mentioning CSKA and Zenit. Nah I think my comparison to the French league except PSG is more accurate than Belgium. I think you can compare the best Russian teams to Marseille and Lyon

  10. Where would you put the Russian league in terms of quality and competitiveness in regard to other European leagues?

Well as far as my opinion is relevant on the matter, I rate the Russian league below Italy, Germany, England and Spain, but above Belgium, Netherlands and Portugal. I see it as more or less on par with France (except PSG). Thanks to Russian money.
