  1. Yeah sales tax, Louisiana the republicans paradise, tax the poor to death while the rich run free. Disgusting place, I paid way way way less in liberal socialistic California (that's what the conservatives call it), it's hilariouus. What do you pay in Georgia?

Depends on the county. Here it's 6 percent. When we lived in Florida, it was a big fat zero.

  2. Paddock wins. His press conference Howard is starting because he needs to get match fitness (why not play him u-21 then?? Ffs) and you need experience in Europe.

Bull shit on all accounts. Joel needs to call his agent and get a move in the summer, poor guy, 3 clean sheets and he's replaced for a geriatric keeper who's save percentage is equivalent to the local tax rate (10% where I live).

    10% tax rate? :o

  3. I like to buy cars that are a year or two old and keep them forever - 200K miles at least. But, with some models, they break down much sooner than others. I spend a fortune on repairing that used car thinking I'll get a good long run out of it, then it break down again. Am I throwing good money after bad, or am I investing in the future?. You eventually get to the point where you realize all that money is a sunk cost, and you may never get it back. Despite everyone's best efforts, it just didn't work out - and it's better to sell it and buy something different. For me, it's the same with Gibson. What do you do when a talented player has such a poor injury record? While everyone wants Gibson to succeed, how likely is it that he'll have a long run without another injury? It's a tough decision to make.

  4. He'll play a virtual full strength team it'll be

    Howard

    Coleman jagielka alcaraz baines

    Barry mcCarthy

    Atsu Barkley Mirallas

    Lukaku

Thats how he will line up.

...which is pretty much what I'm expecting. No need to take any risks until the game is well and truly wrapped up.

  5.

Some people seem to think all red cards are a three game ban. It's a bit like the question about qualifying for Europe that comes up every season, and we know how much you love that one . Fortunately, there'll be no reason for that question on here this season!

Guilty as charged. I assumed it was a 3-game ban.

  6. Why is Distin a risk? Why Lukaku? We pay kone wages, surely not just for u-21 matches? He's a good striker, 12 for Wigan, what the f is wrong with him? Barry will be in for arsenal.

Steve we are up 4-1 and it's at home, why would he play starters when we have a huge away game at arsenal?

Again I ask maybe for insanity sake, why the f do we have squad players if we never play them? if we are going to David moyes and not rotate why waste the wages? Does me in like no other seeing kone on the bench or for 6 minutes.

Barry is suspended in the league, so he's sure to play. Howard needs to regain confidence. 4-1 may sound like an insurmountable lead, but YB are not Krasnodar. We take them too lightly at our peril. That's why we keep the defence strong with Jagielka and keep Lukaku in the line-up. By all means bring in Kone at half-time if the scores are level.

  7. I would like to see another win here, would be nice to get some fringe players some time. I think we are strong enough to beat them even with this lineup.

    Robles

    Hibbert Alcaraz Distin Garbutt

    Besic Gibson

    Atsu Barkley Oviedo

    Kone

Can't see Robles starting. The game will be used to help restore Howard's confidence. Distin is too much of a risk, so it will be Jagielka. Most likely, Lukaku will start and not Kone. Barry will be in there, too. Is McGeady injured?

  8. Pretty easy this one..Naismith.

Scored a goal. Defended better than our defense and generally worked his socks off.

He actually tried to move the play forward too.

Would have had Gibson if we has on the pitch for longer.

Just a reminder of how many comments were posted in the first half about him being useless and in need of being pulled off. What a difference a goal makes.

  9. Congratulations to c1982 for scoring 3 points this week - 2 for picking Naismith as the first goalscorer and one for beating the average prediction. Congratulations also to Deacs for running away with the February contest. Romey still leads for the season. Deacs boasts the highest number of points per game.

  10. "It's easy to forget he's only 21"

Not if you're an Everton fan Mr commentator. Ace of base was number 1 with all that she wants when he was born... Now fuck off.

It would be churlish to criticize that miss but my word, that was awful.

In fairness, the defender was equally fooled by the bounce on that ball.

  11. Nothing you're mostly right. I think it's something people are looking to get put in place because they can't afford to go the away games. Football is really expensive these days and it's no lobger the "working mans game"

Mnot everyone can afford it which is a shame.

And that's why Steven Naismith gives out tickets, right? Good on him.

If I was running a fan club, I'd work with bus companies to install neon advertising on their buses, so that advertising income could be used to subsidize fares to away games. Also, contact local businesses and give out bags of advertising materials to everyone on the bus - that would generate more income. Encourage local supermarkets to run frequent shopper programs, whereby they donate funds to the fan club based on the amount that shoppers buy in the store. This is how several local schools, including their sports teams, around here raise funds. Maybe individual members of the fan club would be willing to stick an advertisement on the back of their car in return for funds going to the fan club. All it needs is a little creativity.

  12. I still fail to understand this. If we want to do things, we pay for them, right? To attend a sports game, home or away, we work, we earn, and we pay. Why ever should someone expect free travel to an away game? It's ludicrous.

Now, if Everton want to reward loyal home supporters by offering them benefits for traveling to away games, that's just fine - indeed, it's good business - but to expect the government or some governing board to do it is outrageous. The precedent it would set would bankrupt the country.

    What am I missing here?

  13. I saw a valid point on Twitter, just before. It stated the amount of 'British' managers that currently hold Premier League Managerial positions;

    Dyche

    Pardew

    Bruce

    Pearson

    Rodgers

    Carver

    Ramsey

    Hughes

    Monk

    Pulis

That's 10 of the 20 top league teams, with British Managers. Have you ever known the Premier League to have as many UK coaches and Managers considering the last few years of foreign influences.

With all the talk on the influx of foreign players in the game, are we looking at a resurgence in the British style of play (using foreign ability) or are our coaches developing their 'styles' to suit a more international game?

And will it have an eventual, positive impact on the national side?

Isn't it more than that? What about Tim Sherwood?
