Paddy has it all to prove, and Nuno did alright at Wolves, but hasn't that much more to his name than that. Obviously, you have your own reasons for being less than enthused, but based on his track record, he is a competent manager.

Surely that banner outside his house is breaking the law? Hard to not see that as a threat. That sort of behaviour is really beyond the pale.

Would there be any animosity towards Rafa? Considering he has managed Liverpool. He is a proven manager, knows the area and the league.

Well I am guilty as charged, since I thought Allardyce would have something to offer you. You are safe now, however a club of your size must have other ambitions. For our part it is difficult to see where we go from this. The club is clearly running a smooth media campaign, see the the Gazidis interview today. However, that will not count for much in the long run.....

None of our former players, that is for sure. There are not any of them that have enough managerial experience to take on this job. In some ways I'd be curious to see what a manager like Sean Dyche could do at Arsenal, but realistically I don't think it would work out too well. Many are clamouring for a manager that can fix us defensively, however I am not sure someone like Diego Simeone would work. Our squad is poorly set up for such a playstyle. Realistically it will be someone like Allegri, Jardim or even Favre I guess. I am not keen on Brendan Rodgers. He has done well with Celtic, but the Scottish Premier League is hardly the most competitive arena. Right now, it is strange to think that someone else will manage us. Arsene has managed us half my life. I hope he can go out on a high with the Europa League.

In some ways it is a sad day, but it is the right decision. I wish him all the best in the future. It is a change that is overdue. There is no way he is retiring, so I'll be curious to see who he will manage in the future. Top, top man, and he has been an incredible manager for us, even though we have not managed to compete in the league for some time now. And Stewart Robson needs to be run over by a bus...

He's doing well for your lot, as expected. This is his biggest chance in club management. With the players you have out injured, and perhaps an addition or two in january, things are brightening up surely?

For those who do not want Allardyce, or the usual "safe pair of hands"....what about Wagner at Huddersfield? Young, promising, doing well at the moment, and with connections in Europe.

Actually, I think you could do a lot worse than Allardyce. This will be his biggest job in club football, and you may say what you want, but he is a competent manager. He'll get you sorted out, and get the players up for it. In addition, his teams are much easier on the eye than Pulis, who might well be in the running... You looked relegation material at Southampton. While Unsworth is one of your own, he has no business being Everton manager. It would be like us appointing Keown or Henry, neither having any experience managing at this level.

That is true, but then it would be for a player that (hopefully) will sign for the long term. Not a one, perhaps two year affair.

You know Fellaini better than I do, but he seems to play blinders against us every time. As for the Shawcross incident, well, at Arsenal we could use a bit more naughtiness at times. Not saying you should condone this kind of thing, but Shawcross is hardly a saint, at least not down our road....

I am sure he is a terrific bloke, but I'd rather see Arsenal not sign someone that is 32 and who will demand £75,000 in wages. Comparing him with Fellaini would be rather laughable. Fellaini would be more value for money, considering both his age and quality. What I saw of Barry last year was not encouraging.

With ANR and Myles Palmer, I think it is mostly a ploy to get hits on his webpage. He is very negative towards the club, and has been for many years. That being said, I would have liked us to get new signings in early, so they can get a full pre-season with the rest of the squad. Quite frankly, if we end up signing Gareth bloody Barry after rumours about Fellaini, Rooney, Higuain and Suarez, well, I'd be rather disappointed to be truthful. Kone seems an astute signing, I thought he looked good last year, in an arguably up and down Wigan side.

I think we'll keep him, at least I hope so. We play so many games through the year, and he is very good at holding up the ball and bringing other players into the game. He is maybe not that clinical in front of goal, but I think that can come as he adapts better to the English game. He played 47 matches last year, with 17 goals and 11 assists. Attitudewise he is spot on. So I hope we keep him.

I think the last few years it has been more about not having much money, than being tight. Granted Wenger likes to get value for money, and our net spend is low compared to other teams. I still doubt we'll sign someone for £20 million+, even though rumours are flying high that we are close to signing Higuain. I'll be curious to see how you get along with a new manager. Moyes will be a hard act to follow.

What I miss the most with Highbury is how close you were to the pitch, and the tenser atmosphere it created. Mind you, there are louder grounds than both Highbury and the Emirates. My arse prefer the seats at the Emirates, especially since its width has increased compared to the Highbury days, The arse that is, not the stadium... I am well pleased they kept the East Stand facade though, makes it feel like the stadium is still around. I suppose it has also helped that the Emirates is just around the corner from Highbury.

Diaby staying fit? The second coming is more likely to happen.

Gooner in peace here. I'd love us to sign Fellaini. That is exactly the type of player we need. My only worry would be his technique. We play quick one touch football, most of the time sideways though... I would however be surprised to see us sign him. Our transfer record is £15 mill, and net spend over 10 years is apparantly something like £9 mill. Wenger spending £25ish mills on someone he intend to use as a defensive midfielder would be very surprising. I think it is more likely he would go to Chelsea.
