  1. A winger who couldn't get a game in Ajax should be not good enough for the BPL. Nowadays Everton, due to Martinez, seem an easy link for all the Spanish not-good-enough players.
  2. Flavor of the season, he seems to be doing an excellent work and he's getting the eye of Atlético de Madrid (they need a replacement of Courtois). Levante is a selling club, so 5 or 6 million and he is out. I personally do not really think Everton will buy this keeper, and he would come as the no.1 if he comes.
  3. Gossip: Spanish media say Everton are in for a LB, either Andres Guardado (Valencia) or Alberto Moreno (Sevilla). Facts: Both clubs need cash urgently, and Valencia would be easier to convince since they already have Bernat (decent backup LB). Sevilla also has Fernando Navarro, but they probably feel they can hold onto Alberto Moreno and then sell him for a huge fee (around 15-20M €) Personal opinion: No doubts I'd prefer Alberto Moreno, he looks like a future world star. Guardado is a decent offensive left back but very careless and poor defensively.
  4. I saw McCarthy a fair amount of times as I was following RM's Wigan, and he was heads above the rest in Wigan. Him, Koné (believe it or not) and Callum McManaman were the reason they had some chances to stay up. It is hard to believe he is 22, his performances were impressive, although a side with Boyce, Caldwell and Ali Al-Habsi should have never been in the Premier League.
  5. Hi guys, a Spanish fan following Roberto Martínez here since his Wigan early days. Last time I logged into a forum like this, I was following Juande Ramos, so I hope luck changes this time... even though EFC has already 3 points and THFC had 2 in 8 games when Juande was fired! Everton just needs to develop the Academy into something real. I believe a club with a strong academy, and fielding an almost homegrown XI, can hold on their talents and improve its luck. Of course, signings are important but this team with the likes of Rooney and Rodwell would be an instant top-4 challenger. Let's hope that a) Barkley develops as (the way I see it "the next-gen Gerrard") and he stays his whole career.
