    Posh V Everton

I think we'll field a number of players that haven't featured much. I reckon we'll see Beattie, Victor, Davies, VDM and Valente all feature. Possibly Weir and Wright as well. Possible Team: Teflon Hibbert Lescott/Yobo Wier Valente Davies Neville Cahill VDM Beattie Victor Subs: AJ, Carsley, Arteta, Yobo/Lescott, Naysmith/Osman Or something like that.
  2. Anyone know who the Ref is? Got this funny feeling this one will be a draw :-/
  3. Personaly I think the initial first team midfield will be VDM - Left Cahil - Centre Neville - Centre Arteta - Right Osman - Initialy on the bench. Davies - Initialy on the bench. Kilbane - (please god in another footbal team) - sorry - initialy on the bench. Expect this to change round as individuals dont perform or get injured.
  4. The thing that annoys me most about this is if Simon Jordan in the driving seat for deciding Johnson's future, why weren't we in the same position over Rooney? Anything more than £6m for Johnson is too much, but I don't like the alternatives if we don't get him. Trundle is without a doubt NOT the right man to partner Beattie. Agree that we need pace and scoring at the highest level (not league 1). I'd get in Nugent and Jerome if we could get them both for less than £5M together. I have my doubts over Benni being able to successfully make the transition to English football. I think we're going to be up sh*t creek here. If we spend loads on AJ then we're probably sacrificing buying another player and we would have paid too much, if we don;t we'll end up with second rate alternatives.
  5. £60M figure is Revenue for financial Year September 2004 to Septmeber 2005. Revenue = The total amount of money that was incomming to Everton during the 12 month period where Everton delivered the "item" that had been paid to Everton for. So in the case of the Rooney Money, the £60M figure should only include the second £10M of the installments of the £20M that Man Utd agreed to pay + any additional money linked to appearances etc. We'll be doing well to achieve this again for 2005/2006, but we should be around £50M+.
  6. You can always rely on the BBC for the latest news!!!! Last Updated: Tuesday, 31 January 2006, 23:06 GMT Everton offload defender Kroldrup Per Kroldrup has had a miserable time at Everton Everton have sold defender Per Kroldrup to Italian side Fiorentina for a fee believed to be in the region of £3.6m.
  7. Good Job DOM! Doesn't look anyone's going to sign tho
  8. Has the music from "Countdown" started yet? You're a star for the updates dom.
  9. He rejected a wage deal of £30k a week at City. Not sure how we'd be able to sign him given our wage structure. Arteta is on £30k a week after all his wage wrangling so I can't see us oferring Joey much more.
  10. From Sky Sports: My Webpage "But every name you mention, we have probably already been there and tried it. It is not through the want of looking, it is just a question of finding the right players. "I am not confident of finding the right player before the window closes. But we are scouring and keeping it going to find something we think we could help us.
  11. Couldn't diagree more on Jimmy Floyd. He might be on a free, but he'd want stupid wages and would be looking to cash in before retirement. In my opinion we need youth and pace. Out of all the "established" strikers we've been linked with: - Fat boy fowler - Le Sulk - JFH I'd much rather we buy in 2/3 pacey youngsters on lower wages and take a chance that one of them makes it in the big time. I'd take any 2 from the list below with no more than £2.5M bid for any of them and if no more than £500k I'd take Trundle for a punt as well. - Nugent - Earnshaw - Tekke Trigger
  12. I thought he had to stay in Spain till the end of the season to qualify for a Spanish Passport. This then means he doesn't need a work permit and joins us next season.
  13. I think these figures are for financial year July 2004 to July 2005. So this would include Tommy Graveson and first £10M for Rooney transfer. God knows when the money to be paid for the other £7.5M for the "if Man Utd win anything" clauses are fulfilled. I don't think these figures would include the second Rooney payment of £10M as this was paid at start of August 2005. Pretty good news overall though! We need to be in Europe this season though if we're looking for an ongoing improvement. I think each league position is worth about £500,000 in Sky money or something isn't it? I think the finances would just stay flat if we were mid-table. Better than we were though!!
