What do you mean free? They don't own it they lease it and match day revenue doesn't account for those increases in revenue, its only part of the picture. Etihad are pumping money into the greater development, it just further demonstrates the synergies you can have through PPP's if the private part of the equation actually has some money to invest, unlike us who are always trying to do it for nothing.

Martinez has always maintained that if you are not a big money club, you have to try different ways in order to challenge and win things, while our current position is disappointing and frustrating I don't think he's far off. I would say a large part of it is that Martinez's Everton aren't boring, writing about them is easy and they expected the results to have turned around by now. Its starting now though and if we next knocked out of the league cup the flood gates are going to open and he will be under a pressure he's never felt before. We may not be a big money club but we are a big club.
