We've spent 35 million in January, McCarthy, Del Boy and Cleverley wont raise that much plus we'll more than likely spend again.
There is clearly money now but I honestly think we need to get the dead wood out the team that are collecting 40-60k a week each and contributing nothing.
I think it's the wage bill that's constraining us.
I doubt it is £35m. Snederlin £19m, Lookman £7m plus add ons, so that's £26m.
McCarthy £16m, Delboy £8m, Cleverly £2m at a guess, so that's £26m. Along with the wages saved through decreasing the size of the squad, it is good business, but not the amount of spend which is acceptable.
Maybe I am being sceptical due to it happening all the time, but does not seem like we have money to spend on transfers. Definitely not the £50-£100m expected in 2 windows.
-
I fully expect for him to be sold and delboy, cleverly to be sold at end of loan so we have a net spend of £0 again.
Lukaku sold in Summer to allow us to spend again. I'm not sure if anything moneywise has really changed.

Seen enough. Can't give Koeman January to waste all the money. Can't get basics right and can't get passion from players. He could buy best players in the world and still would not win with him.

There is something up with jags,I'm not sure what but his head is gone. Maybe a move to Sunderland in January? Has to be Williams and Mori for me.
Seems to be since the 2 penalties at Man City, not been the same since. Maybe it is his age an that was the game that his energy finally went.

Is anyone on the voting list doing well this season?
I think Simeone's doing well, Low and Koeman not started badly, I don't think the rest are doing very well.

The problem with Barkley is I believe the same problem as Everton has had for a couple of years and has still not been sorted. He needs another very good experienced attacking midfielder signed. Which other player has he got to learn from? How can he be trained for that position if he is the only real player for that position? Other players who have done the job in the same position are just as, if not more, important to the training than the coaches.
Maybe if we had an ex-star coaching him (like Berkamp, or an realistic Arteta to coach) then maybe he can learn from an expert, but at the moment, we do not have an expert in that position in the squad or the coaching staff.
We need to get him that mentor, or, let him go to a city or utd who has these players, otherwise he will never fulfil his potential.

That's the odds on skybet at the moment, but no news story with reasons why odds have changed.
Mario Balotelli odds have changed to 1/3 on sky to move to us. I really hope not.

so we've spent 22.5 on bolasie, 9 on williams, 8.5 on gueye. that's 40m in transfers. got 47.5m for stones minus 7m for barnsley. we've effectively sold stones and brought in 3 off that money. should still have at least the 20-30m annual kitty to spend as well.
squad looks like this so far
GK - Stekelenberg, Robles
RB - Coleman
LB - Baines, Oviedo, Garbutt
CB - Jags, Williams, Mori, Holgate, Galloway
DCM - Gueye, Barry, Mccarthy, Gibson, Davies
ACM - Barkley
W - Bolasie, Mirallas, Lennon, Gerry
ST - Lukaku, Kone
I would be very disappointed if we only get a £20-£30m kitty. The extra money from TV deal should allow that sort of kitty, even without the new investment.
I can't see us being able to attract Koeman if the kitty was that small. Surely he was promised more than that to upgrade the team.
Definitely need a striker or two, and an attacking midfielder, and centre back.

Would rather spend a bit more on Bacca. If the £25m quoted been accepted from West Ham, we should be all over it.
Average 1 in 2 goals and has played in Belgium, spain and Italy.
-
It looks like having to sell to buy at the moment.
-
If he has not been sold, surely this is blatant tapping up by Man City.
I would increase the price, purely for them taking the mickey.
Does this also mean, that they have in effect, made it impossible for another Champions League team to do a late bid as he can no longer register for another team?

I think we need more players. This is what I would like and believe they are all possible.
In
Begovic £5m
Williams £15m
Indi £15m
Mata £25m
Coric £10m
Bony £15m
Bacca £30m
Out
Stones £50m
Naisse £3m
Kone £0m
Galloway Loan
Net Spend £62m

I'm feeling the same way. As somebody who's only spent time in London, I'm unfamiliar with longer train rides in England. Wouldn't a random fan generally not have access to the kinds of cars that these uber-rich public figures are sitting in? Or, is there a greater chance of mixture than I as an American would expect?
Furthermore, why would they be using a train? I realize it is significantly more common, but I figure Moshiri as a private jet type.
I can not comfirm if Kenwright spoke to a fan and said all this, but, I can confirm 100% he was on the train as it was the same train as me on way up to the game.

Only really seen youtube videos but it looks like every save he does he knocks the ball back out onto the field rather than keep hold off or knock it out of play. I would be worried if he done that in Premier League.
-
Claudio Ranieri, though I doubt its now possible.
Got Leicester playing the style we should be playing with our current squad, and gets best out of players. Our current squad could quickly adapt to change of style which seems to be working in the Premier League.
Didn't get the credit he deserved building Chelsea as Mourinho took credit.
-
He's gonna get loads of goals at Norwich. Happy for him.
Hope he is replaced, the plan was always to end each transfer window with better squad than the start of the window. Naismith gonna be a big miss and I can see us ending this window weaker.

Youth....investment similar to stones....if we sign yarmolenko after 4-5 years he won't have a resale berahino will.
After 4-5 years there will be no re-sale for Berahino. He will refuse to play, cause unrest and then run his contract down.
Do not want any players with that attitude.
Also, when Berahino is 26 he will be nowhere near the player Yarmolenko is now.
-
We need to buy cover now. I expect we were looking for a right back already, but this means we need it now.
If Lukaku out as well, that mean the 2 position we have no real backup in will now be big problems. Hibbert and Kone starting for the next month is not good.

I can not believe so many are satisfied with that transfer window.
How have we again not got a attacking midfielder or striker. So are we no longer trying to get into the top 4 this year? Are we not getting players in so they have 16 games to settle in ready to start of well next season?
Strengthen our strongest position (DM), weakened our weakest positions (Full Backs, Wingers), kept one striker.
