So I'm legitimately wondering how many of us were watching the game with 10 minutes to go and knew how this was going to end. The writing was really on the wall given the flow of the game and how we like to give up points to "lesser" opponents. I think we're in a good position to work on our closing mentality now, though. Given that we know how good our team can be (from last year's results), the only culprits would be match fitness or lack of concentration. Match fitness shouldn't be an excuse because all teams are in the start of the season now.
The only things separating us from a champion's league spot is that lack of mental toughness toward opponents we should beat, and a small amount of squad depth. One of those can be addressed systematically over this course of this season and will benefit us greatly in the long term, and the other we can throw a couple of bucks toward some players for loans as far as I'm concerned.
