  1. Barkley injured? Or reckon just told Martinez to go fuck himself?????

He looked as though he was giving himself a hard time a few times in the first half when things didn't come off for him, saw Lukaku trying to gee him up on one of those. Perhaps his mental state isn't what it needs to be for him to play the second half?

  2. Surprisingly I'm not disappointed this time. Not that we aren't total disgrace, but I would love to see Martinez's face at the post-match conference. If he was a man of honor, he would have resigned long ago. This is a man who obviously likes to be humiliated and I no longer feel sorry for him.

I suspect that he'll refer to the fact that Sunderland were (are) fighting for survival and so he expected this to be a very hard game, which would be an accurate and relevant point were it not for the fact that we've been like this for months, against teams that are fighting for nothing.

  3. Be fair he's got better going forward. Just getting caught at the back.

True, comment was more about the absence of the edge that he's always had and that is a big component in his game. He's still busy, but just not as effective or snappy as he was. Like I said though, early yet and he'll hopefully prove me wrong (if I was ever right....)

  4. Cleverley is fucking useless

I've thought similar about Jimmy Mac tonight; seems to be having one of those games where he gives the impression that he's trying to avoid receiving the ball/ contact with opposition players.

I'd felt that this may have been due to still coming back from injury earlier in the season but then he had a renaissance briefly of late where he was very nearly his old self in one or two games. Only 20 odd mins in though, so too early to fairly reflect yet.

  5. We haven't got a defence. For the first goal, Stones had no idea where Vardy was. I mean, if there is one forward in the Premiership that you need to keep tabs on, it's Vardy, but Stones was a spectator. We pass the ball about to absolutely zero effect. Sideways, backwards but when we get near their penalty area we are clueless. We have a very poor team.

Spot on. Every time the ball comes into our area we are second to reach it. Niasse doesn't look anything like a premier league player, though is trying, and Cleverley is almost as bad. Does also look like Lukaku has become jaded by it all.

  6. I'm not wrong because I'm not offering an opinion on it as a comment, just pointing out the fact that two different guys can say the same thing and one is lauded, the other pilloried ;).

Mike, perhaps Ranieri isn't criticised by us as Everton fans for saying it because we care little about their results or their performance. It's of no relevance to us as such, though I'm sure that most of us would have enjoyed seeing Tottenham win the league far less than Leicester.

As for criticism from pundits of that comment from Ranieri then that is also unlikely in view of there being far more positive and newsworthy aspects that they can comment on whereas for Martinez and Everton the same is not the case.

Would perhaps be more relevant to investigate whether Leicester fans, at a point in time where they were one win from the title, were annoyed that Ranieri felt the performance more important than the result. I suspect that some were and I know that I would be if I were one of them.

  7. If he isn't sacked after this we will never move forward under this board. Kenwright has to grow a spine or Moshiri has to throw his weight. This is an organisation in turmoil, you can't allow this.

They only need to look at Klopp sniggering at the fact that even Lucas is taking pot shots at goal against the club that they own to give them the motivation they need to sort this shambles out.

  8. Wonder if Moyes fancies an interim job till the end of the season. Could come down from the commentary box now and stick his tracksuit on perhaps.

And he's just been referring to Everton as 'we' as well. That's strange considering events since he left.

  9. Just really strange, Martinez's thinking there.

You could see from the foul on Milner, he didn't mean to do it, but he's effectively inside out when he's playing on the left hand side - loses his bearings, not in the right orientation for tackling when tracking back etc.

Like you say, no idea why he's done that because Lennon is one of our best defensive attributes when on the right.
