That's good cos on GOT and Reddit, a lot of people want us to lose. Partly because if we lose it'll get Martinez sacked and partly to get Newcastle relegated because of Rafa, and because they all seem to hate Newcastle for some reason. I don't get rooting against your own team. I don't care about Newcastle, Norwich or Sunderland, and what happens to them. I don't care about Benitez. I just want us to win. I'm not going to let a hateboner for Bob or Rafa overrule the fact that I support EVERTON.

Also, and I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion around here, I do not want us to lose to Sunderland in the hope that it will push Martinez closer to the sack. I don't care about Fat Rafa, I don't care about Newcastle and Martinez is a goner anyway. I just want us to win.

I feel the same. It's not only unfair on the fans, it's unfair on him as well. And Norwich is going to be toxic. I watched that press conference and it was just depressing. The fact he didn't talk about the future is very telling. He knows he's done for. And now he's going to have to go out on the pitch at Goodison on Sunday and listen to thousands of people shouting abuse at him because the board haven't given us or him an answer. I can't hate him anymore, I just feel sad for him now. I wish him luck in whatever he does next.

I hope Kev doesn't go the way of the horny Frenchman though. If he just calmed down a bit, he'd be fine.

That's what I get as well. I went to see Space in Newcastle recently and was talking football with a couple of Geordies, and they genuinely couldn't understand why I was mad about Martinez. Well, maybe he looks like a good manager when you're Newcastle or a neutral, but if you actually support Everton...yeah, not so much. I really wish I knew what went down between him and Mirallas. ETA: and the players switching off infuriates me. I don't give a shit if they don't like Martinez, it's not an excuse to play badly. A loss is a loss, whoever the manager is. People are paying to see them, the least they could do is suck it up and actually make an effort.

What I don't get is, why? Why bench Mirallas for most of the season when he's one of our best players? OK, so he has an attitude. He's still better than Kone.

I think Roberto lies to himself as much as he does us, if I'm honest. I wonder if him talking about how disappointing the team's performance was was a way of saying 'fuck it, I know I'm going to be sacked soon, might as well just be honest now, nothing to lose'. I don't think he's evil or anything and I admit some of the anti-Martinez comments I've seen have made me uncomfortable - I at least had the excuse of going batshit as a result of a mix-up with my meds. I think some fans need to get perspective. End of the day, he's not ISIS, he's not a rapist or a murderer or a paedophile, he's a football manager who's not very good at his job. I think he'd be great as a commentator or with EITC though. He has done a lot for EITC. Incidentally, I don't know if anyone's familiar with TV Tropes but the Stepford Smiler trope describes Roberto to a T. Also, there are rumours about Frank de Boer. I don't know much about him, but he sounds promising as a replacement.

I don't think we'll get Koeman, as much as I like him. I thought he was a shoe-in to replace Wenger.
