  1. Nice post Mikeo. The Toffees are back........ well hopefully! Please tell us the Lescott deal is sorted soon. I'm starting to worry about his knees getting through the medical.....not another Forsell please!
  2. For what its worth, I'm friendly with a few chelsea fans down here, the word is Huth is very big and powerful, has a very powerful shot but is slow around the pitch...I'm now thinking Lescott may be the better bet?
  3. I think you are right EFCfan2007. I'm pretty sure Lescott is coming. I heard a radio interview with Huth yesterday when he said 'I want my future sorted out at the end of the world cup'. Moyes said at AJ's press conference that he's hopeful of a signing over the next 3-4 days. That would point to Lescott, (probably). The question is - is there a third and if so who is it? Is Moyes after Huth as well or a midfielder. Lots of rumours about Joey Barton around as we've already noticed.
  4. I've cut and pasted the article:- -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everton Football Club are today being linked with Manchester City midfielder Joey Barton in an attempt to improve their squad ahead of the new season. After completing the signing of Andy Johnson today, Everton are set to sign a couple of players with one of those being Barton. Joey Barton who’s future has been unclear since handing in a transfer request late in the January Transfer Window is a keen Everton fan, and it seems as though the Merseyside club are set to get another top signing this summer. This approaches IFF with a man in the know serving as a source, no fee has been suggested by our man yet, but once we get the information we will keep you the fans up to date.
  5. I'm made up with this...if true. We either had more money than we thought or someones going to be sold, Cahill, Yobo.........?
  6. Decent Post Bedge. Losing your top striker and failing in the play offs, not an easy time for you but you can still find the time to wish us luck with him. I therefore wish you good luck for next season and hope to see you back in the premiership soon. Your comments are appreciated.
  7. The good news.......from what I've read, AJ is a done deal. Personal terms will not be a problem as remember Duncan was on 40k a week and he's gone now. Hopefully we'll get a better return financially from AJ? than we did from Duncan. The bad news....from what I've read Yobo could be on his way out. Moyes is pissed off he's not signed his contract. Interestingly Campbell may leave Arsenal as well. Moyes may look to cash in on him and is hoping to get 6-7M. I've heard our transfer budget this summer is around 10m. After the AJ deal, if Yobo is sold that will leave 8-9m for two centre backs and a midfielder or just 2 centre backs? Health warning - this is guess work on what I've read in the Sunday press this morning.

  9. Its been on Radio five live and Talk Sport that a bid of 8.5M from us has been accepted. Now will he accept our terms! Its like pulling teeth without anaesthetic!
  10. http://www.myfootballnews.co.uk/feed_news_...15&story=666002 Why why why are we pissing around haggling like this. So we are now prepared to go up to 8m apparently. Every transfer deal has to turn into a white knuckle ride of brinkmanship with Moyes and Kenwright. Do we want this player or not? If the answer is yes why can't they deal like Arsenal do and just buy him for the price asked? Surely if we don't have the money for him, why are we putting in a bid of 8m? How come we can afford 8m but not 8.5m? Why is 500k so important? Its almost as if they are deliberately going out of their way to wind Jordan, (and AJ) up. Can't they see what this type of behaviour does for morale both within the club and amongst the fans. What is needed here is leadership, a message indicating what direction this club of ours is going. If you want a decent striker who will score goals in the premiership you usually have to pay top wack. If Moyes had been more decisive in the past we might have been lucky and got Bent, Bellamy etc at a more reasonable price. The fact is however AJ is too well known, he was never going to be sold for a more reasonable 5m. Why can't Moyes and Kenwright see that the extra 3.5m is the extra they are now having to pay for past ineptitude. We are not in a position to 'unearth a gem' at a cheaper price. We can't take a risk on this. Our goal difference is absolutely diabolical and has been so for years. A proven goalscorer would help to fill the team with confidence and go a long way towards improving the way we play as well. Everyone knows that when you can't score you are always playing under pressure and so the long boot out of defence becomes the dominant feature of your game. We have no pace, AJ provides pace. He scares defences and causes them to make mistakes thereby reducing pressure on his own defence. For God's sake can't they see 500k is therefore neither here or there. Unless of course they are playing a game with their own fans and trying to show themselves competing for a player they have no intention of really signing? Surely this is a conspiracy theory too far.....isn't it???
  11. At least Bolton's bid will force them to act, (if they intend to). If Bolton hadn't matched Wigan's bid I could see them hoping that AJ would turn Wigan down after talking to them. That's not something they can rely on now because Bolton will be a viable proposition for him.
  12. I am just so so so pissed off about this whole saga. The latest EFC headline reads 'Moyes Hails Stubbs signing'. Woopee shit. I suppose it could still happen!
  13. Hopefully this time Moyes will match Wigan's offer. Jordan has already stated that Wigan can talk to him because their offer meets his evaluation. We know he wants to come to Everton, we match the offer of 8.5m, that should be enough, (apart from personal terms being sorted). Moyes is a fool for saying that he won't pay over the odds for a player because that will inevitably restrict his bargaining position. Anyway what was Koldrup all about then! Mistakes do happen but this guy played one game for us! I know I prattle on about this but the failure to get Bellamy was a good example of why Moyes is lacking in transfer acumen. He would have been perfect for us and look how his value has shot up this season.
  14. Fat boy you said ' Everton had agreed with Bolton and Wigan that they all lodge the same bid and then let Johnson decide where he wants to go to avoid a bidding war. Yeah cheers Wigan just what Jordan wanted.' Probably both Wigan and Bolton knew AJ would choose us over them so they would have nothing to gain by agreeing to lodge the same bid. What pisses me off is that 8.5m is not much more than we have already offered (7.25m). We know he'd rather come to us, so why is it a problem to increase our bid to match their's and guarantee being able to speak to the player. From next season every team in the premiership will be guaranteed at least 28m a year for 3 years under the new tv agreement reached with Sky and Sentana Sport. I just don't understand our transfer policy at all.
  15. But then again! http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,27-2194609,00.html I'll be well pissed off if he goes to Wigan for 8.5m. With the increase in TV revenues we'll all be getting next year and the still larger attendences we get at every home match than either Wigan or Bolton, we should have enough money. We desperately need a top striker. Everyone agrees with that. Kuyt will prefer Toon, I don't know what the so called Owen interest was all about. McCarthy and Pieroni are unproven in England and the other 'young guns', Nugent, Cole, John, Jerome etc could be good buys but expecting them to fill the striking deficit at our club would be too much to ask.
  16. You could be right - tension mounts! http://www.gwladysstreet.com/News4.html
  17. That seems to make sense toffeelicker. I just hope we get this one. Missing out on Ashton, Bellamy in the past still pisses me off. Ashton was great in the cup final last week before he got too tired. I still can't make my mind up on Johnson. I know he's done it before in the premiership but 7m is a lot, would McCarthy or Pieroni or even Collins John be a better cheaper bet?
  18. From what I saw in the play offs I think the teams relagated look stronger than the teams coming up next season. I'd always fear Sunderland, West Brom and Birmingham more than Reading, Sheffield United and Watford. 'Cause i said that we'll now get hammered by Watford home and away
  19. Just watched the play off final. I got so wound up because a number of times , (about 4 in fact), the commentator said, now |Watford can look forward to playing Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle and Spurs. The first 4 I can understand but why Spurs and Newcastle before us. We were the ones who came 4th last season. Newcastle haven't won anything for years. It really grates on me that we are now about 7th or 8th in the status league. I know I know its all about money. For God's sake Kenwright get some investment in. Sorry for the rant i'm pissed!
  20. The story changes again:- http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/topstories/t...-name_page.html
  21. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ton/4765627.stm Looks interesting but is he better than Ferrari?
  22. Probably there's more to this than him being injury prone. I've heard here and elsewhere he likes the sauce. Wenger would never stand for that and its unforgivable if true. Who wants their season ticket going towards someone who does not take seriously the need for good physical health and match fitness?
  23. http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/....html?gusrc=rss Moyes seems convinced He's too injury prone, but who is going to take him?
