I agree with most of the above, we are not going to attract a class A striker
But the class B ones Benteke, Vardy, Giroud, Decko, etc surely we can tempt one of these to join
I think this is where our priority's should be. But im sure Ron is well aware and doing all he can to get one in.
We also have Bollasie to return with his pace.
-
Not sure about the missing piece of the jigsaw we seam to be over run with midfield players, perhaps hes going for total football?
But we badly need a 25 goal a season player, im struggling to see anyone who will get double figure prem goals.
I still think Benteke would fill the void.

I see what you attempted to do. Sadly you have made an amendment on preference rather than it being required.
I'm far from perfect especially on a phone but some posts remind me of this:-
Grammar: The difference between helping your uncle, Jack, off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse.
Nice to see the school bully back in the playground
Can not compete on a football level so I will ridicule you on grammar
I suppose it covers up your lack of knowledge of football and shows
what a sad shallow person you are
Real evertonians don't treat each other like this.
So I will make this my last post on this site as its nothing to do with EFC or peoples opinions
its just somewhere to ridicule people.

I don't think it matters how long you have been watching the game for - its how well you see the game that counts.
The only shortfall was his brain and decision making - the talent is and has always been there.
Did anyone see his controlled nutmeg pass to Naismith in the Swansea game? I need to get it on here - it was outrageous. A 50 yard goalkick came to him from height with a player marking him tightly, in one move he controlled the ballthrough the defenders legs to put Naismith away. It was that quick you could miss it, Zidance did somethinbg similar years ago and people still show it.
This is the class of the lad, left foot, right foot, make a dribble, play a pass - take a shot, he can do the lot.

I will back my appraisal of a player based on ability, that's why when Barkley wasn't playing well I backed him to have a breakout season.
Sometimes Crust you need to understand that constant football and playing for a prick of an England manager who tried to knock the go out of him can have a detrimental effect.
That is why he needed a break, a pity you can't appreciate a top class player doing things only a handful of players can do at his age.
Howard's been alright too hasn't he?
Wish I had your insight I have only been watching football for 55 years
I have always said he is a promising /good player with certain short falls that will always make short of a great player and a long way short of world class or the 60mil
you suggest he is worth
as for Tim yes he is having a better season difficult to see how he could be worse than last season
still making school boy errors that are costing us and should be replaced.

I thought Cleverley was one of the better players for Villa last season?
With Ross I don't think it takes a genius to know he hasn't ability and that the issue is more of a mental thing.
Ross just needs to believe in what others see.
so you say ross hasn't ability ?
as for cleverly ask any villa supporter the majority of games he was nowhere to be seen
-
I would still have taken the money, happy that your convinced after a poor 12 months of anonymity 3 or 4 decent games and your convinced hes a great ?
funny there were no bids for him this summer.
same as cleverly 30 odd games last season majority poor 3 or 4 average games with us, still a long way to go to convince a lot of people
he is nowhere near the level of consistency of an Osman or a pienar. even without this injury he had a long run last season no consistency, must be RMs charm.
but with your crystal ball we are laughing all the way to the bank.
But only to the likes of those chosen few who can see ability ?
-
Kinda a bit late for that, and he's the wrong nationality to go under the radar.
To those who could see ability - he has had what we are seeing now for a few years.
You can't just have a game where you dominate the Arsenal midfield at 19 single handedly and display technical ability way in advance of what you usually see from an english player - and kinda become an average player. Its the same for Cleverley (I did have a downer on him at one stage a good while back till I realised what had happened wasn't ability - it was confidence)
Its not letting him develop under the radar that is the key - not groaning and getting on his back when he does a 10 yard pass is pretty much important.
When he is "truly" on the radar I expect teams to be bidding £60m plus for him. I said over a year ago it would be a gamble to sell him for £30m as he can easily double that valuation and in the process of doing so take Everton to higher levels.
He will more than likely get Young Player of The Year this season if he remains fit and his confidence doesnt take hits (Mr Hodgson). I am pretty certain of that.
This is exactly the shite I meant.
-
Gave it to Barkley ( but lets not start this world class shite again let the lad develop under the radar)
-
The perfect hat trick
-
Not a bad squad but sadly missing a No 10 and a new keeper to move us forward.
-
Agree with the above, this was the point I was trying to make on the man of the match page
he improved greatly from the Barnsley game and even in the second half
that's why I voted for him but I was blown out of the water for not voting for Tim
I know Oviedo made the odd mistake but vastly improved and deserved a vote.
-
Thanks I do like a good laugh
This is the keeper voted 2oth out of 20 last season
but that's what players do defend the weakest link (goodbye)
-
By your logic if every keeper in the league did their job every week every game would finish 0-0. That'd be exciting.
Don't know who your quoting my comments were on the amount of fuck ups he makes like last week
there are plenty of goals scored that are good goals so matches would not finish 0-0
very childish comments I expect better from you.
-
At least arl Crusty is consistent
Thank you.
Its kept everyone amused for the last half hour
by the way I did not see you lot slating him for not doing his job last week strange that
-
I would still like us to be after this guy, Southampton seem to have a clear run
I think we are missing a trick here.
-
Howard, easy.
Interested to see crusty's vote.
look above.
I think you all voted for no fuck ups or clangers not a good enough reason for me
he played well but only doing his job what he should do every week.
-
Oviedo for me ran through brick walls, only his 2nd game in long time
after a bit of nightmare against Barnsley he came back well
still making the runs in the 90th min.
-
I mentioned one in Cardiff's keeper marshal quoted at 4.5 mil going to WBA
begovic was only 8 mil granted he may not have wanted to join us but we don't know as we did not try,and worm sat in spurs reserves would be in our price range
all better than what we have now, and that's off the top of my head without the knowledge of knowing what's out there
all keepers don't make as many mistakes as TH has in the last 18 months
as you know I think its the most important position on the field.
I still think 6 mil on kone was a crime a couple of games does not change that.
-
I don't call 4 or 5 mil throwing money around, in prem league speak of course.
letting in soft goals and finishing further down the league is throwing money away.
-
Yes he earned some brownie points last night
Even he must now realise a new keeper is urgent
neither are reliable, Marshal is up for grabs at 4.5 mil
and what about young schmeichel turning into a decent keeper.
Then I will definitely change my vote.
-
Del boy for me turned it on its head, Ross second .
-
I think of the effect on the club and manager will take a big hit if we sell stones
We have only just had the 5 year plan speech
and I asked how many would still be here in 2 years time ?
The rest of the good youngsters we have wont believe a word of it
and they will see us as a feeder club.
-
We need a positive result tonight or apart from the fa cup the season would be over.

I don't recall anyone saying we need to lump it like pulis at WBA
Just because we have a target man, we did not lump it to lukaku we played it through midfield to him.
We just need someone who will score regularly and I don't see anyone there at the moment to do that. IMO
