Not a million miles apart, really.  The point being losses to big clubs like City don't really count. But feel free to carry on defending that.

I've just read on the Everton website that the players want to defend their unbeaten record until the end of the season, a record they descibed as "unbeaten in eight games, apart from the defeat to Champions Manchester City".

I don't like it when they play with the colour. It should be royal blue only, that marl effect introduces a different blue to the shirt. Not for me.

So Sam thinks he's been a success this season? I hope to God he's just trolling us and knows he's going with a year of his contract in his back pocket. Letting him trim our squad to 25 as he is threatening will set us back another two years.

Which of the three was passionate? I assume you mean Unsworth, because Allardyce's only passion is his bank account.

The final nail in Sam's coffin, that performance. Ended the game like we should have started it. Liverpool at home with them not even up for it. We should have won in the end, but it would have been a fluke. 

Let me guess ... he made some changes and we were much better second half. Deluded is correct,.

It's tempting to look more harshly on him because he's earned millions of pounds and spent most of his career drunk or injured. He's clearly got a problem he needs help with. He should lose his license, but I wouldn't call for anyone to lose their job over this. He may have earned enough money to last a lifetime, but he should be treated like any other working man.

I've got a suggestion for the new stadium - sunlamps. Instead of floodlights we install massive tanning lamps. Apparently Cenk Tosun is scoring for fun in sunny Dubai. I was going to suggest we play out home games in the Middle East, but that would be silly.

He has written this season off, fair enough, but I am concerned he could ruin us for much longer. Players don't want to play for him. United are apparently eyeing up Pickford and you couldn't blame for being tempted. Rooney was our most creative player (a player who also needs matches to be at his best) and he dropped him. Siggurdson dropped so we could play eight at the back in search of a cleansheet (and we concede 5). I don't believe we couldn't have brought in a proper left-back in Jan if we really needed to (and clearly we do).

Sam's selling point was back to basics and "steadying the ship", but I don't think he's played the same team or even the same system in two consecutive games, even after a win. May can't come quickly enough.

Jesus wept. Pinning his hopes on a clean sheet, then. Allardyce will end Rooney's career this season, he needs to be playing regularly. Roll on May.

I thought Allardyce was supposed to be some sort of tough guy disciplinarian? Yet little Ademola gets his way? More to this than meets the eye.

Sam was sending him out on loan, though, Lookman seems to have annoyed him by opting to go and try his luck in a decent league rather than drop down.

His lack of quality is obvious, but it was his pressing than earned us the first goal. Leicester were the better team at that point, we were doing our Nervous Nelly act and the crowd was bitching. That goal settled us, we got the second and ultimately won the game. Not pretty, but he Niasse earned his corn last night.

Allardyce on Ademola Lookman's loan to RB Leipzig: "He was adamant he was choosing Germany. Going on your own at such a young age and not being able to speak the language is a massive challenge for his development. We tried to persuade him not to."

I'd have thought the club could just say "no" if they didn't think it was beneficial. All very odd.

How the hell can we end a transfer window without a left-back?!

I suppose so. I can't see him being a regular starter, though. He could make an impact off the bench for us. I'm concerned Allardyce doesn't like his sort and will get rid. We'll miss out on a hell of a player if he does.

He can be an absolute star, this lad. My concern is Allardyce will drive him out of the club and he becomes a star somewhere else.
