  1. Dont go if you arent into it at least 75%, you dont want to come away with anything less than a 2:2, the debt isnt worth it.
  2. Didnt read the thread guidelines
  3. I remember Portsmouth trying to sign him for 6 mil in January but he said he didnt want to any club without ambition. Sounds like another journeyman we dont need, although a straight swap sounds like good business if the reports about VDM wanting to leave are true. The competition up front would bring the best out in BT and AJ.
  4. This is what pisses me off about England. Player for player we are a match for most teams in the world cup. But for some reason we lack the confidence to keep posession when teams start pushing our defensive line back. The game against Portugal in Euro 2004 was an embarassment and I can't see much difference tto our link up play now when we're under pressure.
  5. I'd take Phill Nevile over some jump-ship foreign international like valente or van der meyde any day. He cant change the game with a 50 yard cross-field pass or skin players but he knows his limits and plays to his strengths. Most of the stuff Neville does goes unnoticed - pressing every ball, breaking up play and winning posession, filling the holes, organising the players. Defending wasn't our main problem last year, scoring was. We need to look at bringing in at least 1 winger and cover for arteta and cahill.
  6. Its a tune by 'Romeo Void'. Malbranque would bring something to the squad but one of the reasons hes leaving Fulham is he wants higher wages and they offered him a lot. Bearing in mind moyes pulling power and our remaining kitty, we wont be signing any european stars. Pennant and Dean Whitehead could be cheeky bids for the the teams goin down, they both played well last season.
  7. If it was just press bullshit I dont think they would have included direct quotes as they leave themself open to legal action. I know they misquote all the time but with Portugal's world cup coming up I think Valente's seen his chance to put himself in the shop window. He wont be welcome at Goodison now whether he plays well or not so I think thats another position we'll have to fill, unless he scraps Naysmiths move. If it was up to me I'd pay Lescotts friends to come and visit VDM and Valente with a baseball bat. Fucking leeches.
  8. I cant see moyes wanting to sell him cos he knows it would be at a loss untill VDM can get some games under his belt. Its just another foreign journeyman piece of shit bitting the hand thats fed him for a year while he did fuck all with his feet up. Now he wants another big signing on fee and can start all over again. I fucking hate this breed of player.
  9. It was coming, the fuckwit media build it up and up getting people to belive we are going to win the Cup, its our year, strength throughout the team. First game gone and we looked shite for 45 minutes, very disjointed. We were the worse side for most of the second half against a team ranked 33 in the world below Iran and Senegal. If we do that after the group stages we're back on the plane home. On the plus Lampard and Cole looked superb going forward but without owen, Crouch cant hold the line. Why the fuck Sven has brought a teenager he wont play is beyond me. So if we win our next match we are through no matter what, but Germany is one team I don't want to see in the next round so a point off sweeden is a minimum.
  10. Spooky I used to sit just above the goal in the lower gwladys, seems like the entire forum does as well. There'l be enough for a toffetalk section soon.
  11. I'm still hoping its just a cheap story cos if he goes then we'll have to bring two wingers in for both flanks. I am so sick of watching shite direct football, Cahil and Arteta offer some creative outlet but its not near enough. I want to see players who can dribble and cross a football, it's not too much to ask.
  12. I think he wanted his wages tax free, which would have already made him our highest paid player and was never part of the deal. He made some other demands if I remember as well like a free house.
  13. How the fuck can you be cheeky enough to ask for a transfer when you've barely played for the club who signed you and paid your wages for a year. It better be press speculation, did I mention all money grabbing agents should be given the lethal injection?
  14. This is the same tosser brought in the automatic yellow card for a player taking their shirt off after scoring a goal or celebrating too wildly. Then he had the golden and silver goal farce, that didnt last long. Now this crap and hes never even played football, managed or been involved at club level. Everyone knows there was bribery involved for his re-election, hes a disgrace to the game.
  15. I put a small wager on Brazil, they have the strongest team by some distance, better than 2002 when they embarassed us with 10 men. But I think England will get to the quarters hopefully playing Poland in the last 16 and not the Krauts. In the quarters it looks like we will get Holland or Portugal (Assuming the Argies win their group), that's when I'll start praying. We'll get brazil in the semis if we beat them but if Rooney's on form anything can happen.
  16. Quality player, easily our best keeper since Big Nev. At least he can bow out at the top of his game.
  17. The only reason I think Moyes didnt fuck him off after the first refusal is our lack of options up front. Anichebe and Vaughan are prospects but we cant rely on them if AJ or Beattie get injured. If we could get someone in on loan for a season and sell Mcfadden I'd take it.

Great board, I came accross it by accident the other day but kept comin back. I was brought up in Seaforth and had a season ticket for 11 years in the Lower Gwladys but I'm living in Essex now with my other half. Scott
  19. This is more 'best moment' but purely for significance and the fact I was there to see it, Horne V wimbledon and Farelly V Coventry that kept us in the top flight. After that Rideout V the Mancs for the Fa Cup in 95 after that donkey Stuart hit the bar from 2 yards. This is unrelated but the thread reminded me of it. Check this link out: The Funniest goals of All time
  20. I dont think there were any British teams in AC Milans group last season and they got knocked out by Barca in the end. I know he was injured the year before when they were in the mancs group. Seria A has some of the worlds best defenders and is genrally regarded as the most technical more so than the Premiership. I dont think he'll have a problem. I'm looking forward to seeing him play.
  21. Shevchenko's the best out and out striker in the world in my opinion, tho Henry's ability is better overall because he can drop off to the wing or midfield to create as well. They have different styles of play and both are clinical at what they do. Shevchenkos scoring record is scary, last season in Seria A he hit 19 goals in 22 games and in the Chamipions league 9 in 12 games.
  22. Mcfadden has scored ten goals in ninety four appearances. Ten goals in three years would disgrace an attacking midfielder nevermind a forward. Add to the fact he has no pace,is weak on the ball, has no positional awareness, cant cross a ball and has extremely eratic finishing. Weak on the wing, weak up front, crap player. Two blinders a season isn't going to keep us out of the relegation zone. At twenty three years old the unfullfilled potential excuse wont wash. and he's got the nerve to turn down an almost double payrise to 1 million (19.5k p/w). If he thinks he can get a better deal somewhere else then dont let the door smack you on the way out.
  23. VDM was sayin at the end of the season he felt guilty about not playing all season and he was going to prove to the fans his worth next season. It sounded genuine and I think it's the very least he can do seen as tho we've been paying him 30k a week for a year to sit on his arse. That and the 2M we paid inter.
